Isn't Aebischer a FA? And Huet, too, for that matter. Lecavalier for Mikael Telqvist. Make it happen!
-
Another things on Richards, I thought the Bolts were tight under the cap after signing Lecavalier and St. Louis last season. How much room are they going to have left or are one of those 2 guys on the way out?
-
Wow. I'd like to see the reasoning behind that one.
-
I think he was a restricted free agent, anyway, so anyone wanting to sign him would have had to give up the draft picks and whatnot.
-
Yeah. I just remember them interviewing him on CBC after the Sens series, asking him if he was getting any extra motivation in the next series by playing against Laviolette, since he was the coach that left him off. I guess maybe he didn't want to give any bulletin board material, but he said he understood why they didn't pick him, because he was still hurt.
-
Wasn't he hurt when they picked the team?

I like how Joe Buck's trying to spin that Wagner was uncomfortable because it wasn't a save situation. Poor guy, Floyd shouldn't have hit that homer!

It's like you can set your watch to it. Jays lose after winning 2 in a row, been that way for seems like 2 weeks now. If they can ever get going and win 4 (gasp) in a row, watch out.

Specifically how? The sprinting animation and giant springy mushrooms are all that come to mind. Well, there's that, plus the background in World 4 kind of reminds me a bit of the first stage of Angel Island Zone in Sonic 3 (before it gets all burned up). There's also these things somewhere in there that 'spin' you from one side of a wall onto another that reminded me of something similar from Sonic 3. Is there a place in the castle in World 5 where you can get a small mushroom? I lucked into one randomly once, but couldn't beat the boss in order to get to World 7.

Anyone else get a Sonic 3 vibe from certain parts of this game? I'm thinking parts of World 4 in specific, I'm sure I've seen more but it's getting late.

The Jays have 9 lives in this game. They probably should have lost it at least twice now, but keep pulling it out. This is with bringing a reliever (Jason Frasor) who was in AAA a few weeks ago with the winning run on 3rd and 1 out when BJ Ryan is just sitting in the bullpen. Apparently, you don't want to use your best reliever when it's a tie game on the road, wouldn't want to win or anything.
-
So, anyone else think Walt's lying about wanting Michael to save him?
-
You can't be serious. The Jays could top 40 runs for the series, hitting the way they are. It's a broadcaster's dream. I can't believe, with two networks sharing coverage, that there are so many holes in the TV schedule. It's going to be just as bad next month, too, with the World Cup on everywhere all the time. I think it's because of the Memorial Cup.

I don't really have too many memories of Steib, as I wasn't born yet or was in diapers during his prime here. I mainly remember his comeback in the late '90s and catching Bobby Higginson's home run ball in the bullpen with 2 outs in the 9th inning of Roy Halladay's no hit bid in his 2nd career start.
-
None of the Jays games in Colorado are even going to be on TV here. That's funny.

I was interested in getting the Leafs 'TML' shoulder patch, but this fat kid I know who I don't like has it already, so that went out the window. I think a blue Maple Leaf would be alright, though.
-
How can you like Mike but not kkk?
-
Couldn't watch it on TV, but awesome start by Halladay tonight. 3 hitter, throws under 90 pitches, and faces just one over the minimum. Only blemish was Johnny Gomes hitting a homer into the catwalks at Tropicana.
-
Why can't they win more than 2 in a row? I don't think they've won 3 straight all year so far.
-
Man, I really hope this gets out into the media around here.
-
Talking about possibilities on Charlie Steiner's XM show, Soriano's name came up. I could see that happening.
-
Paul Maurice is the new coach.

Couple things about this. Janssen's made 3 starts so far, only one of them was really good. He was awesome against the Angels over the weekend, but I think he's going to have to stick around for a bit before you can call him underrated. As for Glaus, he's tied for 2nd in the AL with 12 HRs (which is pretty much what he's supposed to do) and is getting on base at around a .360 clip. Not quite sure what you expected out of him this year to call him overrated.

Throw in Alfie's post in the dying seconds of the third last night and it could have been 3-0. Yeah, that's what I was talking about, an inch or 2 the other way and the Sens score. I forgot about Spezza putting it on the goal line in game 2.
