Wannabe was the one

I guess the Marlins want Frank Catalonotto, too. I was reading through a thread on a Blue Jays board where people were posting a bunch of rumours that they'd read at numerous places. The Marlins want to toss Encarnacion in there, apparently Mike Lowell, too. I'm not too sure about Lowell, though, since the Jays problem right now is that they're going to have too many infielders once Koskie comes back and adding another 3rd basemen when they already have 3 won't help. It kinda seems like the Jays have the inside track, though, since the Marlins look really interested in Chacin and Toronto seems like they want him more than anyone else.
-
If they can get him signed, I'd trade Chacin for Burnett (with more going to Florida, obviously), in a heartbeat. Gabe Gross would probably be part of the package, too, I'd guess.
-
And I'm in last place. Beautiful.

The highlight of my week was winning 3 games today to give me the win in that category. I still got my ass kicked, though. Again. If anyone wants to trade me a good, young pitcher, Eric Chavez is available.
-
Yeah, that was a fun game, even if the ending sucked.
-
And I dropped Giambi, who's hit 2 HRs today.
-
I bench JD Drew last week since I thought he was hurt and wouldn't play much, and he hits 3 HRs. I put him in my line-up for this week, and find out that he broke his wrist. My team sucks enough, I don't need more shit like this dragging me down.

Pete Walker's starting for the Jays tonight, and he's probably been their best pitcher outside of Halladay and Batista. Hopefully the good work in the bullpen translates into a good start.
-
Yeah, that happened to me a few weeks ago, too. I think I had 16 HRs, but went into the next weekend with only 2 or so before hitting a couple more on Saturday and Sunday.

At McDonalds, I just get whatever the McDeal for that day is (unless it's Friday, since I don't like the Filet of Fish). I try to only eat there when I'm working and I can get a meal that fills me up for the rest of the day/night for under $5. Wendy's is usually the Classic Double w/o cheese or onions, but they usually fuck it up and leave the cheese on, but I can live with it. Don't go anywhere else often enough to have a 'regular' burger.

I came kinda close to some balls at Olympic Stadium a few years ago. Showed up early and caught the Braves BP and a few fell down in-front of the out-of-town scoreboard behind the wall they had there and some guy had some weird contraption made up with some kind of cup that he used to fish them out of there. He seemed to be giving whatever he got to kids around there. Later on during the game, Orlando Cabrera hit a HR a few sections over. Never been close to a foul ball whenever I've sat along the lines, though, either at the Big O or SkyDome.

Personally, I don't mind ties. They've been a part of the game for forever and it was fine then. That being said, I don't hate the idea of shootouts in the regular season if it helps the league.

Triumph the Insult at the Michael Jackson trial.
treble replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
I just watched it again, and it's not up to par with other Triumph stuff. It has its moments ('On a scale of 1 to 10, how old is Michael's boyfriend?' and the lady talking about Michael coming in his pajamas plus some of the other ones mentioned) and it's still decent, but I'd rank it way after the Star Wars one, plus other ones like Bon Jovi, the Quebec one, and the American Idol auditions. -
Not quite sure why you think Rogers Centre is one of the worst parks in the majors (have you ever been there?), but even so, it's only 15 years old and cost over $500 million to build. It's not going anywhere for a LONG time. It's perfectly adequate, anyway, the only reason it looks 'bad' now is because Camden Yards came along a few years later and made everything that was built in the past 30 years (for the most part) look bad. I can see people not liking the astroturf, but that's gone now and hopefully they'll be some more upgrades in the future now that Rogers owns it.
-
I think they'd have to get rid of the old one, if not right away, then eventually. It's not really feasible to have 2 huge stadiums side-by-side if only one of them is in use.

Fuckin' Jays get my hopes up again, scoring 2 off of Lidge (who was probably tired) to tie the game in the 9th, only to lose it on a Morgan Ensberg walk-off 3 run shot.
-
The Jays have 6 walks, but only 2 runs. They seem to be falling into a habit of making no-name pitchers look good.
-
Man, the Jays horrible road trip continues, as they are being slaughtered by Oakland. 12-0 in the 3rd. Man.
-
Man, that 2008 election page on there is gold. The notoriously left-wing Rudy Giuliani - He shook the hand of pedophile pervert Michael Jackson - the same hand which Jackson used to molest underage boys Plus, calling Nelson Mandella a white-hating terrorist. Didn't need to see the picture of the partial-birth abortion, though.

Awesome, except that Nathan's on my fantasy team, and even though he still got the save, that 18.00 ERA looks like shit. That's a lot of commas.
-
It's also kinda funny that the Yankees (and the Jays, too) are a half-game ahead of Boston now.
-
Jays sweep the Red Sox, but none of the games were on TV here thanks to the Memorial Cup and basketball.

'You got some Artz on you' was fucking awesome. This episode's been pretty funny, so far.
