I'm going to Leafs v. Islanders tonight.Give him some time.

Was it Trebs that pointed out how CBC/TSN/whoever's baseball coverage prefaces every Canadian player's name with "Canadian," e.g. Canadian Jason Bay facing off against Canadian Rich Harden, essentially making it just like this board? This is why I said it doesn't surprise me that Canadians are taking this more seriously than we are. Their de facto national team is doomed to mediocrity, whereas their real national team might actually be pretty good. Canada's contributions to baseball are overlooked: Ferguson Jenkins, Larry Walker, pinwheel caps. Paul Molitor just seemed Canadian.I think there are a lot of delusional people, based on beating the US last time, that think Canada has a chance. They have some really good hitters, but the pitchers they have coming are shit. I'll be shocked if they beat anyone besides Italy in the first round.
I also wonder how much of A-Rod's decision to play for the Dominicans over the Americans this time around was based on the fact that the US team would have to play in Toronto as opposed to San Juan, where I think the reaction to him would be a lot warmer.

Having discussed the matter with a friend, I've come to agree that they couldn't possibly be doing something so fucking stupid as writing Locke out of the series, so I've calmed down a bit.
-
I know damn well that Locke might not be gone. But then again, he might be. I hope not. But the fact that they're even willing to tease us with the idea of it doesn't exactly make me happy. Locke is the kind of backbone cast member that if you're gonna kill him, you kill him at the end, not two years before.
-
Locke was easily, by far, without question or competition, the single greatest character on this whole show. And he's dead? Fuck Lost.

Is she funny, or something?

I've noticed around the Internet that a lot of Canadians take this seriously. Figures.Ha. I wouldn't say I'm taking it seriously, though.
-
I'll be at the Canada/US game way up in the nosebleeds. Tickets are actually pretty reasonably priced.

And let's not turn this thread into a discussion of shitty movies.

I'll admit that the only Arnett movies I've seen are Let's Go To Prison and Blades of Glory.
I thought that was enough to base an opinion.
-
On one hand, I'm really looking forward to it. On the other hand, I have a bad feeling it'll just be celebrity cameo after celebrity cameo.
-
I didn't think Will Arnett was allowed to be in good movies.

I tried watching Rashomon one time with French sub-titles. I got about 5 minutes in.

I didn't like how they just basically took the highlights package from the 10th anniversary show and spliced some more recent stuff in there.
