  1. Tonight's show will be a total success in my eyes if Sabu busts open John Cena and at least pulls off a few of his spots on the guy. Everything else is just a bonus for me.

ECW One Night Stand 2 Thread

It also lists Beulah as being a part of the show with Dreamer/Funk.
  4. According to PWInsider, Vito's new gimmick isn't a punishment of any kind. Instead, creative believes that it is a "strong new character" that will actually take him to the next level.
  5. On the PWInsider audio they just said that the reason we kept seeing replays of Sabu's botched Arabian Facebuster, is because those high up and in charge and in control of the video production didn't even know he fucking botched the move.
  6. More on Axl Rotten: -He no-showed RAW because he was supposed to have a physical earlier in the day, and he wasn't going to be allowed to work the show unless he had that done. He had about three chances to get the physical and he no-showed all three of them, for some reason.
  7. From PWInsider: And about the Battle Royal on the show tonight:
  8. I would book Sabu to go over Cena after the odds become far too great for the guy, and for RVD/Mysterio I'd let it go to a no-contest or something, with both looking really strong.
  9. Where is the show at anyway?

The best generation to be a wrestling fan?

I know I've been known to make excuses for some of the shit that's on TV (not so much over the past year or so though, at least not like I used to), but I find it hard to understand how anyone could just up and start watching these shows, and become a huge fan of it. Much of the reason that some of us are still fans is because we've seen the highs, and we continue to watch waiting for the next upward swing in quality. I started watching as soon as I was able to really watch TV back in the early 80's with the NWA, lived through the Hogan era with all of those highs along with the Horsemen era, then went through the lows of the early 90's, then again with the highs of a little ECW and the Monday night wars with Attitude and nWo, then again with the lows of the end of WCW, then the lows stuck around for a while. Hell, I don't know if we've really had another up period through and through. It's been more like we've had a few cool moments here and there, like Jericho becoming champ, Benoit becoming champ, Eddie, the rise and fall of Brock, etc... The "magic" just isn't there right now. That died with WCW and ECW in 2001, and when Rocky and Austin finally left WWE for good it really died out even more. I mean, this generation's Austin and Rocky is Cena and Orton. Ya know...what the fuck? The only two guys who have had even a hint of the old feeling, at least to me, have been Brock and Angle. Sure we still have a few guys from the old era, like HHH/HBK/Taker, but when they are in the ring with guys like Cena, Spirit Squad, and Khali, it really doesn't matter that they're still around.

The best generation to be a wrestling fan?

God, if I was a young kid right now and this was the product that we had to deal with, I doubt I'd be much of a wrestling fan at all. I have a nephew who is a big fan and he's 15 years old, but since I've been around to tell him who Flair is, tell him about ECW and WCW, and lend him tapes of all of the really good times it hasn't been as bad off for him, and he has a respect for the history of the business. But for those kids who are just coming into it totally blind, and they start off by watching shit like Vince's ass on TV? I really feel sorry for em and don't blame them at all if they never become real fans and never give a crap about the history. For all of you guys who are around 22+, would you honestly be watching this product today if you were an early tean or younger and this was your first look at wrestling? It's hardly possible to even be a hardcore mark anymore as well, so that changes things a lot for the following generations of fans.

ECW One Night Stand 2 Thread

I can't believe that even WWE creative can't see how stupid it looks to have Angle/Orton on an ECW named PPV.

    The Youtube Thread

Yeah, I forgot to mention to just forget about the commentary. To this day that remains one of the worst called matches that I've ever heard.
  16. Amen to that! And if it hasn't been posted yet (yes, from PWInsider again): Also, obviously, there is a ton of heat on Charlie Hass right now. It it wasn't for Gerald Brisco, Charlie Hass wouldn't have been brought back in the first place. Not only is there heat on Hass for being so careless, but he also tops that off with having an attitude backstage where he acts like he's done a hell of a lot more than he actually has. There is also a lot of heat on John Laurinaitis because of the way the Kane angle came off last week, since he had a great deal to do with it played out and looked.

Another reference to the Reformation of DX

I think it's just about official that what I've said all along is going to happen, and it's so obvious. HHH is going to get HBK to join DX once again and they'll "raise hell" for a short while against the SS and maybe Cena, leading to HHH winning the title with HBK's help at SummerSlam, or right around there. Then, after the match or the next night on RAW HHH will once again turn on HBK beating the shit on him, cutting a promo about how stupid HBK is for actually thinking that all of the bad feelings that HHH has against him went away. That will then lead to HBK feuding with HHH, once again, and he'll more than likely win the title once again, and after a month or two HHH will beat HBK for his 12th title win, and that'll be the end of it. Just wait and see.
  18. A bit on Randy Orton from PWInsider: -He wasn't due back until next week, so it's obvious that they brought him back because they thought they needed someone like him on this ECW PPV, and it pissed some people off. They were told by many workers backstage that Orton seems like the exact same guy that he's always been with no improvement at all, if not even worse since now he has it in his head that he's so important that they brought him back early from his "vacation".
  19. From PWInsider: -They say that the reason for Taker not actually doing the Piper's Pit segment last week is because, well, he just refused to do it. His thinking was that the last time the fans saw him he was destroyed, and the last thing "The Undertaker" would do is go out there and talk about it instead of going out and trying to destroy Khali instead. I respect the hell out of that but I do wish that he wasn't one of the only guys who could do something like that without getting buried.

ECW One Night Stand 2 Thread

More details are needed on the Axl Rotten situation. More from PWInsider: -Axl had a health problem, or something that the Maryland Commission didn't see too fondly, so he had been banned from performing in that location, and the problem was carrying over to other Commissions as well, so it wasn't just Maryland. That came back up the past week, and Tommy Dreamer has been working his ass of to clear Axl once and for all. Then, after Tommy Dreamer went to such extreme lengths to help the guy, Axl just totally 100% no-showed RAW without so much as a phone call. Also, about Gangrel, not only has he been contacted but they say that he has already signed a contract to come in.

    Animal Released

Now watch TNA run an angle where a new guy is set to debut in a huge match, and it ends up being him. Anyone remember that one from WCW? I believe it was in the match that Sid broke the shit out of his leg.

ECW One Night Stand 2 Thread

If ECW survives through this year, it wouldn't shock me to see the December PPV end up a straight up ECW-only PPV. And for the record, it doesn't help that Steph has always hated the idea of bringing ECW back, and still does to this day.

Let's just stop with all of this Sabu bashing. He has been a part of some damn entertaining matches in the past, and he is coming straight from TNA where he had some fucking great bouts, especially with Abyss.
