And, for what it's worth, let's not forget about Harry Smith making his debut in the next few months.

Imagine a world where Eddie Guererro wasn't dead and Batista never got hurt. Do you think they would have ever given Rey the strap? I'm starting to question that big time. I always thought they would give it to him, ever since he debuted in WWE, but now I'm not so sure. Even with Eddie and Batista being gone, there are a number of guys who I'd rather see as world champ right now. Angle, Benoit, Booker T, and I'm sure I could think of a couple more.

Holy shit! His kid looks just like Rey Mysterio!

Somebody wanna link me? http://www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/mickfoley/blog042606 http://www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/mickfoley/archives/

Just want to say that I was totally wrong about Mysterio. I thought that if he won the strap that I'd be into it in a big way, and I'm not. I love the guy, I've loved his work for over a decade now, but I just don't give a shit about him being the champ. If I could have my way I'd have Mysterio back in a really hot cruiser division, putting on great matches with some of that talent, while still taking on guys like Angle in grudge match angles and the such every now and then. When I see him as champ, I just don't see a world champ. I want to really be into his run as champ, but I just can't. I hate to admit it, but I think his size is even getting in my way of accepting him as world champ...and his voice doesn't help matters at all. I've been rooting against the guy ever since he won the strap, and I can't wait to see JBL beat him. Then again, I'm a huge JBL mark as you all know so maybe that's getting in my way also. I dunno, I still like Mysterio and his work, but a credible world champ he ain't. I'm not even saying that because of the shitty way that he's been built up, but that didn't help him at all either.

I never thought I'd say this, but I actually agree about Carlito now.

Well, we already have The Oddities back...sorta. Old stars can help a wrestling boom, so don't be so quick to dismiss the idea of guys that have been around for a long time doing just that. Sure, the guy was totally different, but Hulk Hogan had a huge part in the wrestling boom of the mid-90's with the entire nWo angle. The key is to just not do the exact same angle again. A DX vs. Vince feud, while it could be really entertaining, isn't going to start a boom, but DX could have a part in it, just like ECW could.

If they are going to have a DX reunion, then a slow build like this is the way to go, especially everything that HBK and HHH have been through together over the past few years. Right now, for the first time in a long time, I feel like we have the correct pieces of the puzzle all spread out on the floor to lead to another sort of wrestling boom, and if not that then at least another period where we get back to having fun TV week after week. Unfortunately, it's up to Vince an co. to put all of those pieces together.

They've already done that once before.

ECW is going to be a huge group of tweeners. There are going to push it to the point where some WWE fans boo ECW and what they will be doing while the ECW fans, more traditional type fans also, will be going crazy for them. This was a fantastic start to what looks to be one hell of a Summer (for better or for worse).

Ummmm. Holy fucking shit?

How in the world can you blame Mark Henry for this in any way? It isn't like it was his idea to splash Angle through the table. If anything, to me it looked like he was trying his best to protect Angle when he did the spot. If Angle really got hurt by the spot, or something was made worse by it, then blame those whose idea it was. If they knew Angle was already hurt then they should have known that it wasn't the smartest thing to do. If they didn't know he was hurt, but Angle did, then he should have let them know. I think Mark Henry is shit, but come on now. Besides, I'm sure that the table spot is just an excuse to get Angle off of TV anyway.

If I was John Cena? I'd have Umaga on my side, so I'd have nothing to fear other than stray chops.

From PWInsider: You've gotta love YouTube (once again)!

I love watching directors take up for their piece of shit movies. I'm not saying that this one will be a total piece of shit (but come on now), I'm just speaking in general. Benoit/Finlay next week! I can't help but laugh at the camera angles that they use for this guy. Now that was a great use of the "WHAT!?" chant.

Did they not even mention that she was the one that brought her into WWE in the first place? Ugh.

What the fuck? A Tatanka video package??? Allllllllllllllrighty then.

I believe it was in reference to 1996, when it was cool. That's right. As bad as the WCW nWo ended up being, I don't think it's even worth mentioning the WWE "poison" version of the nWo. It did lead to the awesome Rock/Hogan match, and a few solid moments on TV, but overall it was a mess, especially near the end when it all just totally fell apart. The entire nWo angle was fantastic, one of if not the best angle ever. They just didn't want to ever end it or ever take it to another level. Sure they went somewhere with it, but it was shit. The different groups, just about everyone joining it, blah blah blah. The ECW angle could be done where the ECW guys demand that they get a time slot or something. When Vince doesn't just hand it over, the WWE vs. ECW war begins. ECW gets their shots in, but WWE gets their shots in also. It leads to a group of ECW guys defeating WWE guys, with something like a TV time slot on the line, etc... ECW can start shows right away, and they can promote them, but build it up to where they want the TV slot badly for a few months, and they finally win that right at a PPV like Summerslam or something. Then, once they get what they want, by force, they start off and do their "own thing".

A new WWE vs. ECW angle would be a great way for us to finally see how the nWo angle could have ended had they not fucked it up so badly.

MTV is starting a wrestling promotion

I just heard in the most recent PWInsider that this show has been picked up for a number of episodes. -
Well played.

I just listened to a PWInsider audio, and it reminded me about how WWE had an ECW style ring build for ONS last year. Since they have this, it wouldn't make a lot of sense to tape the ECW matches before a RAW and/or SD. When this finally happens, I doubt that's the style they'll go with. There are plenty of reasons why that's a horrible idea.

I don't mean Vince wont have his hand in it, of course he will behind the scenes since he is over it all. He'd be a fool not to have his hand in it at all since it's his thing when it comes down to it.. I mean as far as TV goes, etc... I think we might see this brand evolve to the point, after the upcoming WWE vs. ECW feud, where ECW is it's own TV show without much WWE mention. No WWE logos and all of that. I don't think it'll be any different when it comes to stars being in ECW and staying there than it was before. When people would reach a certain point in ECW, and WWE liked what they saw, they would try to bring those people in to WWE TV. Heck, Vince even helped ECW in other ways as we all know back in the day. I know Vince's history is shit when it comes to certain things, but maybe he sees that he fucked up the invasion storyline five years ago, and since it was half a decade ago, maybe he's going to try to do now what should've been done then, only without WCW being involved.

Is ECW.com the actual ECW website that WWE owns? If so, maybe WWE will actually allow ECW to become it's own entity. I don't see a single mention of WWE, no links or nothing, on the entire website other than mentions of WWE in the profiles of the wrestlers. If you could pick any five or so normal WWE type workers to move to the new ECW who never really worked in ECW before, who would your picks be? I'm not talkig about guys like CM Punk (or Joe Styles, since he's obvious) or other guys not on the RAW or Smackdown roster: http://www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/ http://www.wwe.com/superstars/smackdown/ I wouldn't mind seeing the following jump over: -Finlay -Jamie Noble -Matt Hardy -Trevor Murdoch -Val Venis -William Regal
