I saw it and, well... Downhome Wept. There, the shortest review for The Village that you'll find. I'm going to write up a complete review, just so I can share my thoughts on how horrible this piece of shit was. I didn't see a single positive thing about it, it was all bad, bad, bad. Bad filmmaking, writing, EVERYTHING. Everyone involved in the film should hang their head in shame. It was the height of "lazy filmmaking" if you ask me. While I can not speak of anything good about the film, I could go on all day about all of the bad aspects. I rarely "HATE" a film, honestly. If you know me me, you know that when I go to view a film, it is in my nature to look on the bright side of things. If I hate one aspect, I will overlook it as long as there is enough good there to focus on. That can not be done with this film, for me, however. There just isn't anything good there at all to hold on to. I'll leave you with one of the worst lines in history. "I love you, Lucius. I love you like the day is long. I love you more than the sun and the moon together. And if you feel the same way, we should not hide it any longer. It's a gift, love is." Yes, M. Knight Shyamalamadingdong sure is a great writer.

I'd love to see what he could do with a straight up film, with no twist or weird and unusual revalation at the end of it. I'd love to see him concentrate more on story and character developement, instead of the big finale so much.

Well the thing with Ebert, is that here lately he seems to give the majority of films a pretty good rating, for better or for worse. However, when he finally does give out a stinker of a rating/review...then you know that you need to watch out, and be VERY cautious.

Al Sharpton, Barack Obama, and John Edwards? They all got pretty darn big reactions. I wonder what would happen if Bill Clinton was able to run for president once again.
-
I just know that this film is going to make me want to hurt people.

Dance Batista Dance~!

Hmmm... SD goes from town to town every week, and here we have Kurt in the GM "office" getting his stuff? I love leaps of logic like this.

Over at RottenTomatoes, the rating started out as 90% or something like that. Since then, over the past few hours, it's started to go way down. I can't wait to see what the rating will be tomorrow. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/village/

I finally picked up this DVD. I had it on pre-order from DDD, but it didn't ship on the 27th, so I called and asked about it, and they told me that it wouldn't ship untill mid-August. I proptly cancelled my order from them, then drove straight to Best Buy to pick it up, for about $4 more. This is going to be great. So far I've watched part of the SJC 94 finals match, and it just so odd watching this on a WWE DVD, even odder watching it with the Japanese commentary. I've only watched about half of it, and I also believe that this moron with Dean and Chris is a freaking jackoff. It's like they got some ten year old, a ten year old who knows nothing about wrestling, to join them on commentary. Ugh. It's funny though, but they really should have got someone else to do it. Then again, maybe they put him on there to look like a moron in the first place.

I love Batman and Batman returns.
-
He means screwed in the sense that many of theor former roles will possibly haunt them for the rest of their careers in that many people will never be able to look past his role in Ace Ventura in order to see how great he can be. Same goes for Foxx.

It's the teaser trailer. Go to the Batman picture thread for a link to it.

I bet Mystic River was one of your favorites then. I just can't wait for both of these films in the topic, I'll be at both on opening night.

I heard about this earlier today, but didn't know if anyone here would care enough for me to post it. If this is true, then for all I care he can just burn in hell.

Ain't It Cool News has two new reviews for this film posted. http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=18053

This little intro by Mrs. Edwards is about a million times better than the speech that Mrs. Heinz gave.
-
That picture looks like some sort of robotic cyborg being giving birth to him, umbilical cord and all.
-
And into my sig it goes.
-
I was going to start a thread just for the trailer, but eh, whatever. Maybe a mod could change the topic of this thread to saying that this thread also includes the teaser trailer?
-
Teaser trailer! My God, this is going to be awesome! I never doubted Nolan for a second on any of this, but I think it's going to end up being even better than I predicted.

Cool, thanks NoCalMike for the heads up.

When Moore asked O'Reilly if he would send his children to fight the war, he should have simply said that it wouldn't be his decision, but instead it would be the decision of his children. He should have said that when the young people join the armed forces, they are taking on the responsibility that comes along with it. If you are asked to go and fight, you are to go. They know that going in. This is the only issue that I felt O'Reilly slipped on at all. At every other turn, he made Moore look like a moron.

At the Done Deal message board that I frequent, a board about professional screenwriting, one of the more established posters (a screenwriter/journalist himself), said that he has a colleague that went to a press screening, and revealed the ending that he saw. Like I said, it's a very established poster, and would have no reason to lie.
