Van Hellsing: Thoughts, opinions, and criticism!
Downhome replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
Hey, I'm a fan of The Mummy movies. Every now and then I need to watch a brainless, check your brain at the door, action flick. -

Well, the critics were mainly right about Man On Fire. -

I don't know. I haven't even seen The Punisher yet, but I do plan on watching it soon. -
He COULDA been somebody...he COULDA been a contendah

I read who Chavo's opponent is, and I had to come into this thread for the first time ever. I figured that the ONLY talk would be about Chavo, and I was basicly right. So I don't need to worry about reading a spoiler for anything else. So far, I've been right about that too. You are all BLIND if you don't get why this was done. People, she won it just so Steph could come back and be the one to defeat Jacqueline for the title.

In no way did I spoil anything, my God.

Championship match for Bad Blood announced
Downhome replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Bah, whatever. If Bradshaw can main event a minor PPV then surely Kane can do the same. I do not understand why he would be in the match though, that doesn't make sense at all. Kane is in a totally different feud right now, same for Benoit. I can't remember the last time that the two of them ever had anything to do with one another, and Kane hasn't mentioned the world title in months. Still, Benoit will pick up another win, and it might just be an ok match. I loved most, if not all, of the matches in the Kane/Angle series, and I'm sure Benoit can pull something pretty cool out of Kane also. -

Exactly. I've loved RAW from top to bottom except for the "dramatic" storylines like Lita/Kane. It's one thing to have something where Kane wants Lita for his own, and it's another to present what they have been putting on TV. That Kane/Lita/Hardy segment on RAW was one of the worst ever in my opinion. -
Someone please post Chavo's opponent in spoiler tags. I want the option to look at it in this thread if I want. With that said, this SD looks like a pile of human waste. In all honesty, I'm starting to think that they are making SD look like crap on purpose for some reason. Perhaps to build to an angle where they finally "snap out of it" and set out to prove to RAW/Heyman/Booker, etc... that SD actually can be a great show. I can't think of another reason to have a show be this bad. It isn't where the main eventers are just in a bad feud, it isn't the normal "bad" feeling when WWE has been at it's lowest before. It just feels weird, like it's on purpose to me. I'll still mark out for Taker, and the main event, but as a whole it looks like a Heat or something, just with star power. I gave up on thinking anything good will come from this Chavo thing. There is no way they would allow something outstanding to come from that. Wow, RAW and SD are just totally different now. If anything, they sure have succeeded in making the shows look different. Velocity looks like a good show to me, especially the main event.

I was going to say something damn near close to that. I've enjoyed WWE as a whole in 2004 more than I have in years. It's been a hell of a year so far, a year that we could only DREAM about before now. -

More like put them together as a tag team called "WWE's Special Team".

I can't freaking believe that someone on this board is talking about Mark Collie! I've been a fan of his since his debut, in the late 80's and early 90's. Just go down through all of his albums and download as much of it as you can, I like all of his material. Then again, I'm a huge Country fan.

Bad Blood Main Event announced on radio ad
Downhome replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in The WWE Folder
I agree. It may be overkill, but it should be entertaining and fun to watch. I'm a fan of almost all of the HIAC matches. I even enjoyed HHH/Nash, but that might be because I went in expecting the worst thing ever. I do agree that Benoit's title defense should be the main event, but what can you do? Haven't all of the HIAC matches been the main event of every PPV that it's been on? It would be hard to go from a match like a HIAC and then have a straight up wrestling match to finish off the show. -

I'm not going to complain, it'll more than likely be a hell of match. -
"Everyone" didn't think the character would be stupid. I most certainly didn't.

One word. COWBELL!

I just found this site, have fun!

I don't understand the HBK heel turn that so many people are predicting for tonight. I don't think we'll see him turn heel tonight. I see HBK/Benoit have a fantastic match, only to be ended when HHH does a run in of some sort leading to a DQ or no contest. Then at the next PPV, they have a match to determine the #1 contender while Benoit defends the titlte against someone different for that one PPV.

I'd like to see him join someone to fight against the Dudleyz, or something like that. Then during the feud, he keeps making mistakes over and over again which always leads to those that he is trying to help getting destroyed by Heyman's group. It happens over and over again, and over time his partners start turning on him. Not turning heel, just showing their frustration with Spike. Keep this going on for a while, to the point where the fans just feel very sorry for Spike. Make it so no one wants to work with him anymore, and have him just act very depressed. Then, finally a big match or something comes up and he finally gets someone to be his partner again, because they really feel sorry for the guy. Then in that match, Spike is the one that turns heel and helps Heyman's group destroy whoever his partner is. They blah blah blah, Spike spouts out a promo saying that all of his "mistakes" over the weeks have been on purpose. He's been secretly working with Heyman by making those that are against Heyman look like morons and losers, and at the same time he actually got the stupid fans to feel sorry for him. He goes on to say that Paul Heyman created him, ECW runs through his veins, and that he has revealed those in WWE as being the morons that they are. I think that sort of thing would really get the fans pissed at Spike. Make the fans care about the guy, make them feel sorry for him, and then have him stick it to them really good. Once again, I love dreaming.

I wouldn't be surprised at an RVD turn also, but if it happens I don't think it'll be for a while. I could see Paul Heyman getting more and more powerful, with more and more guys (mainly former ECW stars) to join him. He trades wins and loses with Eddie as they are doing now, and this lasts over the entire Summer, leading up to Summerslam. Either before this show, or right after it, RVD finally turns on Eddie and their feud begins (either to begin or end at Summerslam). In the end, I think it would be insanely cool to have their big title match end up being some sort of gimmick, like a simple cage match or a simple No DQ match. In the match, when it looks like Eddie is about to sneak his way to victory once again, Heyman has all of his boys (a pretty large group by this point) run in and help RVD just dismantle Eddie. Sure Eddie has a bit of help, but it's no use as Heyman's group is much too strong at this time. So yeah, RVD ends up destroying Eddie with help, and becomes the new WWE Champion. Then, the following week, Heyman, RVD, and everyone else stands in the ring at the start of the show and announce that they are all leaving the cesspool that is WWE, they are taking the world title, and are restarting ECW once and for all. Sure it sounds a bit like the nWo and how ECW first started up, but it's on purpose. It's worked before and it could work like a charm once again. Hey, I know I'd love it. I love to dream.

Not that I really care, but I think Lita might turn heel soon.

I enjoyed it also. Add that match to Noble/Mysterio from Velocity last night, and that's two pretty good matches in two days from the B-shows.
