Why would it need any buildup? Both their history together, the history of their respective careers, and the fact that it is their one and only match at a WrestleMania is all of the back story and buildup that you need.

I ask again, what exactly does Mel's father have to do with this? He wasn't involved in making the film, he's just some crazy old man off to the side who just happens to be the father of Mel. I'm sure there are tons of moron releatives out in Hollywood and other aspects of the entertainment community who you would hate also.
-
What exactly does Mel's father have ANYTHING to do with this?

I think Hogan should be at the PPV also. If I had the book, and I know all of you hate this but whatever, I would have built up a "huge" match between Hogan and Flair, simply beause I feel that they should wrestle at a WrestleMania together to end both of their careers. It wouldn't have to be long, no overbooking here, just the two icons of the past twenty years meeting at the biggest stage in the industry for the first and only time ever. That's about the only thing that I'd have Hogan do at WMXX though, and same with Flair to be honest. With a five hour PPV, they would have plenty of time to plug in a match like this.

The following is from PWInsider, and it's pretty interesting. I messed up the topic title, it isn't what I wanted to put, but whatever. Sincerely, ...Downhome...

If I had my way, police and any of that crap would be FORBIDDEN on any wrestling show.

Teen tries to kill girl, to have sex w/her corpse
Downhome replied to MrRant's topic in Current Events
Forget probation, I say stick him in a home for troubled teens untill he is 18 years old, then once he turns that age just give him a month of therapy. I'm sure every single one of you guys have had the same urge before, it's perfectly normal in every way. -
The Cruiserweight division pisses me off far more than anything else WWE does. I just can't stand how they book the matches, I just can't.
-
*ahem* WTF WHY CAN'T WE GET CRUISERWEIGHT MATCHES IN WWE! WHY MUST THEY BOOK THE DIVISION JUST LIKE THE HEAVYWEIGHTS!
-
I can't believe they went to a backstage skit durring the match, that was rather odd. By the way, please contain your excitement about SD, slow down with your posting!

That's your opinion, but there are plenty of great and classic films out there that do not have any sort of backstory. If a film is well enough made, it is able to tell a story from the opening onward, without you knowing anything in depth of any backstory that there could be. Once again, your opinion. I've never in my life met anyone who didn't know about Christ. It's not stupid or arrogant to say that most, I said most not EVERYONE, knows Christ and/or his story. Like I said, unless you have lived under a rock, you've heard about it. You can't live in the world, unless it's a place where Christ is 100% absent, and places like that do exist, without hearing something about the story of Christ. The vast majority of people, I assure you, have heard of it.
-
This is just stupid, and I can't believe that anyone is making a deal about this. It's been all over the news today, when talking about it, that the woman had a condition, and had she been eating at a Red Lobster, sitting at home, or where ever it was still going to happen how it happened.

Another update.

But that's my whole point. Gibson made a movie that only a relatively narrow audience can appreciate and understand the significance of. Movie reviewers critiquing it as a movie have to point that out as a major flaw, and they're correct to do so. As a spiritual experience, I'm sure it's very powerful. As a movie, however, it's very flawed. I don't know your issue. I've never met anyone of ANY religion that doesn't know the story of Christ. Just like I've never met anyone who doesn't understand other such things that have been around for so many years and is talked about in just about every culture and any generation. A huge backstory isn't needed with a subject like the story of Christ, it just isn't. If you don't know at least the very basics of Christ, then you must have been living under a rock for the past, oh, thousands of years.

From PWInsider. So, do you think he loved him? Sincerely, ...Downhome...

I miss Don and Mike, I haven't been able to listen to them for years, the station here changed format and since then I've been Done and Mikeless. I was last able to listen to them in 2000 or so. How much have they actually changed?
-
Exactly, I'd say that almost everyone that goes to see this movie knows the story of Christ. It's not some big secret, you don't need to be told everything in this film.
-
I don't know one way or another, but this was on the WC board.
-
Well who doesn't know the story of Christ? Even the people that I know in "real life" that don't believe in God or anything know the story of the man. I mean, did any of you guys go "Christ? What in the world is this flick about, who is this Christ fellow, what did he do?" when you heard of this film?
-
Well that sucks, it seems like most shows that I have started to watch over the past few years just get canned. I guess that's why I don't really watch many sitcoms or anything anymore. I hate getting into something and then it just...going away.
-
What was the reasoning behind cancelling Freaks & Geaks and Sports Night? Both of those shows were great, two of my favorites.

WrestleMania Top 10 Matches Special Announced
Downhome replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in The WWE Folder
I figure that the HBK/Austin match with Mike Tyson as the ref will be on WWE's list. -
I'm pleased that I'm not the only one who will put my vote down, without even needing to think about it, for Crystalis. It's not only my favorite NES game, it's one of the most enjoyable experiances that I've ever had in all of my years of playing video games. I could sit down right now and play it, I'm always up to playing that game.

I just got sent the following from BoxOfficeMojo.

Not to sound like an ass, but what is the difference? Can you hear a little bit?
