  1. Alright, from PWInsider: -The special Christmas RAW for the troops will be a mixture of all of the talent this year. -Last night RVD was told that he is expected to make the trip this year. If you remember, two years ago RVD refused to do so. He was very pissed last night after being told that he's expected to go, and many are saying that if he crosses paths with Vince McMahon, "things could be said". -The Sabu squash was indeed a direct punishment for his recent behavior. It's said that many believe that he'll straighten up now. -TBS, as we already know, is the guy saying that he wants to take time off. From what he says, he's in a lot of pain right now because of his back. He'll more than likely take time off after the December PPV and then return around Rumble time to then build towards WM. -In regards to Kurt Angle saying that he's been getting calls from a lot of WWE guys, some top major names, about wanting to make the jump to TNA, there is indeed truth to all of that and it isn't just Angle bullshitting. There are a lot of semi-main eventers and former main everters who are seriously looking in jumping as soon as their WWE contracts are up. People are tired of the "WWE grind", and they see that they can jump to TNA, and make a little less money, but work a hell of a lot less. -Two of the names that are going around about wanting to jump to TNA are Rey Mysterio and Chris Benoit. -To make it clearer, you wont see guys like John Cena, Taker, HHH, or any of those guys jump. The guys that are thinking about it are those who are on the verge of moving to the main event, or have been there and quite possibly wont get there again, not to mention guys who have a lot of mileage on their bodies, and they'd like a lighter schedule, but still want to work.
  2. I just started listening to that hotline, so I'll post it all soon.
  3. I don't know if this has been posted yet, but what the hell. From PWInsider: -The reason for Sabu being squashed by Umaga on ECW is because there is a ton of heat on him. He's been getting to shows late, and at a recent event he fell asleep backstage and management looked at that as him being disrespectful to the other workers.
  4. I'm not a huge Joe mark and I'm not a TNA apologist. I'm still a pretty new TNA fan, I've only watched on and off since they started up. I'm just trying to explain what I believe TNA is going for with this, just based on what I've seen from everything so far. Like I said, the point is that Joe beat everyone else, and it finally took (what TNA says over and over again) "the greatest wrestler in the world" to finally beat him. I think that makes Joe sound pretty great, if no one could beat him except for that one guy that they are booking to be the best in the world. Now when Joe does go over Angle, and wins the feud, it makes him look that much better. EDIT: I haven't read the spoilers, so everything I'm saying might already be proven wrong. I'm just going by the feud up to the end of that match on the PPV, and that's all. I know that TNA has fucked things up in the past, and that could happen here as well, if it hasn't happened already in the spoilers.
  5. To me, the streak was to help build up Joe in the end, not to put over someone else. The fact that no one else, no one other than the only Olympic gold medalist in professional wrestling and the man who many consider the best wrestler in the world, could beat Samoa Joe makes Joe look incredibly strong in my opinion. I know that isn't how most of you are looking at it, but that's the point that they're trying to put over. They're trying to say that Kurt Angle And Samoa Joe are the two best wrestlers out there today. They'll even it out when they have Joe beat Angle, more than likely, in their next match. All of this is just about building up Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe, establishing them as the two best guys in the company. The story that I see them building up is that Kurt Angle is, without a doubt, the best wrestler today, and Samoa Joe's goal to beat down Kurt Angle and take that title from him, proving once and for all just how great Joe really is. He's defeated everyone else, now it's on to the top.
  6. Yes, a lot of stupid stuff happened on this show, but at least it was mainly just the booking that was screwed up, and most of the action in the ring was solid, even if short. Here are my thoughts on what I consider the main points: -Chris Daniels vs Chris Sabin The match was fine, and I loved the post-match angle with Lynn. That was really solid stuff and I can't wait to see that develop over time. -Cage vs Styles Again, a fine match but the post-match angle was more important. I'm all for a Styles/Daniels feud with Styles as the heel. As long as they don't stick him with Russo, it should be yet another solid program. -LAX vs AMW This was the first mistake in the booking. I know what they were going for, and the fans were going with it for the most part, but the fans turned on Cornette the very second that he said that he was going to strip LAX of the titles. It was like he flipped a light switch, it was that instant. The fans want to see LAX get what's coming to them, but they don't want to see them get fucked over, and in effect proving the point that LAX has been trying to make all along. The guys at PWInsider said that a great angle would be for AMW to come out on the next Impact and tell Cornette that they don't want him to strip them of the titles, since they want to beat LAX in the middle of the ring. I know that the next few episodes have been taped, so I don't know if they did that or not. -Abyss vs Sting Meh, I don't know what to think of this really. I agree that the ending was bullshit and didn't make a lot of sense, but I'm not totally against it. It all depends on where they go with it, and if it leads to more character development for Sting. I did like the visual of Abyss laid out in the barbwire holding the world title though, and I was happy for him since I've been a fan of his before he became the Abyss character. If this doesn't lead to some huge new deal for Sting, then I'll agree that it's totally bullshit. There's no reason for him to drop the title one month after finally beating JJ for it. -Angle vs Joe This one was just about what I expected in terms of actual match quality. I didn't expect the big classic that so many people were looking for, but I did think we'd get some solid action. I didn't think they would just give us the big time Angle/Joe match their first time out. They're going to let it build up, let the storyline develop, give both guys one win each, then have a third match, more than likely with the world title involved. I don't like how they had Joe tap out though, and I wasn't expecting that at all. I'm fine with Angle beating Joe, I mean come on he is f'n Kurt Angle, and who better to end the streak than him? That said, I think they should have went with the angle where Joe passes out, and just refuses to give up. He'd still get the loss and Angle would still pick up the win, but it would be done in a way where it doesn't really hurt either guy, and would build that much more for their second match. Anyway, it wasn't a horrible show, but it wasn't really the show that they have been building up to. I don't think this is going to hurt them, but it sure didn't help them as they were hoping for.

I think Cena/Sabu was on RAW. And holy shit at having Umaga just totally fucking squash Sabu...

    WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007

I got the "magic wand turns you into a woman" storyline last night. my God, it's horrible and it is NOT just a dream. Not only does the wand turn you into a woman, but lots of other crazy shit goes down also.

It's official: The next-gen battle is over.

I just picked up all three. I called two different BK stores, and both told me that you don't need to buy anything, and instead you could just come in (or drive-through, which is what I did) and buy all three at the same time - again, no purchase necessary. Also, there was a 48 hour XBL Gold card in each of the cases. I don't need them, I gave them to my cousin, but that's a great bonus since these games are so cheap in the first place.

    Wii

It doesn't look like I'll get a Wii tonight. Every Walmart in my area, and that's about four of five stores, already has lines so long that all of the systems are already taken.

I got it in the mail today, and have already read through the instruction boolet. I can't wait to actually get a Wii now.

I just got Zelda in the mail from FamilyVideo (around $40). Now to just find a Wii to play it on!

Wow, GameSpot tore Red Steel a new asshole with their review. They gave it a 5.5 out of 10. http://www.gamespot.com/wii/action/redstee...mp;subj=6162018

Well, here I am without a Wii pre-order yet and Red Steel and Zelda are on the way to me from Family Video (about $40 each after the coupon). I don't want to have two games with no system to play em on!

    SNL Review- finally here

Like I've already told you, it was favorite episode of SNL in years. Maybe even my favorite since Will and Jimmy left the show. I enjoyed it from top to bottom (I even give a pass to the stupid Out of Breath Jogger bit since it was so short, and was just there to fill a minute), and it also gave us a few classic SNL moments, something that also hasn't happened in a very long time. “Bobby McFerrin raped my grandmother” indeed. It's too damn bad that Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin, and Christopher Walken can't just host the show each and every week.

    PlayStation 3

The Walmart in Central, SC (right up the road from Clemson) only got six, count em SIX PS3 systems in stock, and then six more "rain checks". To be a college town that shocked me. I was sold that about 40-50 people in line there wouldn't be able to get one after camping out for hours and for some, days.

    Wii

Click here for the IGN Rayman Raving Rabbids review. It sounds pretty solid with a score of 8.3 out of 10. Closing Comments Rayman Raving Rabbids is a gamble for Ubisoft because it is so dramatically different from its predecessors. It's not a platformer, but don't let that deter you because it is still easily one of the better games available for Nintendo's new generation system this year. Ubisoft understands that Wii is about new ways to play and it has with Rabbids created a title that utilizes the Wii remote 70 times over. The majority of minis in the title are fun whether you're playing by yourself or with friends, although there are the occasional duds. The biggest drawback is that many of the minis are not designed for simultaneous play; instead you go in sequence. But even with that being true the experience is still engaging and addictive and the title's sense of humor is in a league of its own. It is almost unfair to label this effort a Rayman game because the real stars of the project are the bunnies, whose blank faces and inevitable agonized screams will make you laugh over and over again. And while I'm at it, the following was posted at CAG:

Holy crap. GameStop just gave NBA 07 a horrible review with a 4.9 out of 10 score. Click here to check it out. The game doesn't even have in-game announcers. Like someone on DVDTalk said, this screenshot says it all: NBA 07 on the PlayStation 3 doesn't have the entertaining story mode that the PlayStation 2 version has, but it does have most of that version's flaws, and some new ones, too. The Good: Multicolored shot meter works well; nba replay is fun for a short while. The Bad: The Life story mode is nowhere to be found; no announcers; unimpressive graphics; poor artificial intelligence and buggy gameplay; $20 more than the superior ps2 version.

    WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007

I'm not sure what the deal is about this game not being different. I love the new controls in the game, and to me it feels way different. I know that the basics are pretty much the same, but the "total control" moves are great, as are the hot spots and that sort of thing. The ladder match seems to be way improved, with a kickass new animation where you set up one ladder and run up it. It's also a lot easier to do top rope moves, including top rope finishers. It's also the first time I've been online with a wrestling game, since I have Xbox Live. I found this funny:
