New match to report.....Naturals will take on AMW in a rematch from the upcoming Impact match tonight. Was a note in the Observer about this (they will probably announce a rematch even on Impact tonite) and it was also confirmed from this "Road to Glory" special they are doing on Dish Network tonight, essentially a pre-show hyping up the lineup and then having a few "Best of" matches on the show itself too (Monsters Ball, Ironman Match 1, etc).

Pretty much agree with everything you got to say. Looking forward to this more than I previously was now that its almost here. Been doing alot of TNA viewing this weekend too with the new DVDs they just released (Box set, etc) so that has helped. For those who are curious, the show is opening with the 4 way X division match (reported in Observer I just got today), so that will be free to view essentially. I would imagine a stellar match out of that one will hopefully sway some people to buy the ppv at the last minute.

Most of the stuff isn't too offending for the stips although 1) There was no creativity put forth so far as alot of this stuff is redux of last year, esp. with the losers of the title match voting teaming for the tag title shot - didnt they realize that the lineup last year didnt exactly create interest? 2) the stips in particular for HHH-Flair are ridiculous. First, who is going to vote for a normal singles match - that's absurd to even have that as an option. Submission is going to be my choice. Doing a cage match as their first match of an extended program is borderline ridiculous. Would have much rather had: 1) Submission match 2) Last man standing match 3) 2 out of 3 falls match Guess thats too much to ask. Am definately picking Hardy and Mysterio for the interpromotional match. That match is a strong pick for the ppv to lead into Survivor Series' 10 man tag (which officially as far as I know still doesnt even have Edge in its lineup).

Brown is moreless a tweener right now - he's been bitching about getting screwed over by Jarrett for months now (for not getting a title shot when he helped him way back when) yet he is still working against the faces most of the time. Looking forward to tonite's show - on a side note, does anyone have Dish Network? If so there is some 3 hour TNA special building to the ppv tomorrow at 7pm ET tonite on one of the sports tier channels. Not sure what it is, could just be a preshow that loops every 30 minutes or every hour. WWE normally has "free" shows like this building to most of their major ppvs too during the days before the actual ppv.

Totally the wrong place to put this, but curious if the fact that Ross moreless refused to "play the games" on Spike TV's last Raw of pushing the USA move like Coach and Lawler did led to what happened to him with the demotion. He even, IIRC, kind of took Spike's side on his Ross Report the week after.

Spike giving TNA it's first Prime Time Special
RedJed replied to Dangerous A's topic in TNA Wrestling
Speculation on those matches in question? World title match has got to either be Raven/Jarrett or Nash/Jarrett rematch from BFG. Hoping for a Samoa Joe/Daniels match myself... Havent the slightest clue about the trios match other than I would imagine it would be with the big guns of the X division. -
Thanks man. Just noticed the board here has a tape trade part to it again (under general chat) so I tried there too.
-
Not sure where is the right place to put this, but I am heavily trying to find a copy of the last Velocity on Spike TV and the Smackdown from about two weeks ago with Piper against the Ortons. Can anyone help and if so, would be willing to trade off 3 hours of whatever wrestling I have for it in return. Let me know!
-
Same here. Kinda. I'm going to McDonald's more, but not for the Monopoly. For the Best Buy Bucks. My total now is at $59. I'll be getting a lot of cheap DVDs to watch when I'm in my hospital bed recovering from my heart attack... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Damn, thats alot of Chicken Sandwiches, super size fries.....I have already eaten about 4-5 value meals with the chicken sandwich in the last week or so and not sure if I can keep up the good fight.

Last Velocity on Spike TV and the recent Smackdown w/ Piper v. Ortons. Can anyone help a brotha??
-
I think they charged for Victory Road. Honestly though, there is no reason at this point that they should not at least TRY to charge for each damn taping/ppv.
-
Moving up again, can ANYONE help or at least assist with a suggestion of a website to go to, etc?
-
Yeah but I'm sure there is a good amount of people coming from out of town. Changing everything up like that (esp. with so limited time) is a little different than a NFL game being changed up a tad. Plus it would be a fucking mess and a half with the ppv providers, plus Impact will be building the ppv on Sunday, so you are saying do the ppv BEFORE Impact?!!! Just wouldnt work, hate to say it but its true. Most people who were planning on getting the ppv wouldnt even be aware of the change.
-
Went to Best Buy today and saw this on the rack surprisingly. I'm sure some of you are more aware of this, but I had no idea this was even greenlit ever. No Romero tie-in though from what I can see - can anyone supply any info on the story behind this movie? It seems to indicate by the back cover its a prequal AND sequal to DOTD, but not sure if that means the same characters from the original appear here or not. Can someone shed some light?

I just read a report that the hurricane actually has died down today to the shock of the forecasters of the situation as of late. So maybe it will continue to do so and this wont be as big of a deal as it's sounding like it could be. If they have to cancel it outright, I'm not sure how that would work in terms of ppv - I would assume they just do it the next weekend, but there is probably something already on the ppv lineup for some of these carriers already though.

What did you think of that wonderful CGI of the virus? What the fucking hell where they thinking there?!!
-
Kind of off topic, but does anyone remember the Batman burger (I think it was called something else) that McDonalds released during either Forever or Batman & Robin? It was a triple cheeseburger with some different other ingrediants on the same kind of bun they used for McRibs, etc. Don't ask why I just remembered this...guess I'm wishin it was back!

I'm actually looking forward to Feast quite a bit after following that Project Greenlight season on Bravo earlier in the year. Just surprised it's taking so long to get out to theatres, ideally I would imagine the film should have been released right after the Greenlight season ended, but I think something happened with the Miramax/Dimension-Disney split that forced a hold on it. But anyway the film, from the scenes shown in Greenlight, looks plenty gory and generally interesting. Heard good things about Hostel too, again - just wish we didnt have to wait til Jan!! Is Bloodrayne actually getting a really substantial national release?
-
I cant believe there was someone else who liked the Fog other than me (referring to that person who wrote those spoilers). I guess I'm not the only crazy one!!
-
Yeah it was a total random purchase for sure......to be fair, I do have to give them some credit that the climax of the movie was pretty alright with all of the random gore but it just took forever to get there. But the ending fucking blew.
-
I can totally accept bad acting/cheesy parts in horror as well but it just gets bad when it overtakes the expected goodness of typical horror, be it violence/gore/scares/general bloodshed/etc. When a movie has a quality first scene, then goes into almost an hour and half of nothing but this shit, then thats where I have to draw the line that I am very lenient on usually. My thing was that there was really no reason for this to be be called DOTD 2 - felt like false advertising to me in a sense. Zombiez is as much as sequal to DOTD than this was, maybe even more when I think about it. I guess see for yourself is my best advice, although I can't really suggest sitting through this to see what I mean.

Nightmare on Elm Street DVD set, $37.99 at Target
RedJed replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
I remember paying over $100 for this box set well over 5 years ago. Amazing on that the price has dropped down that far. -
Well this is definately a bad one! I watched it last night and if not for the help of a few joints, I think I would have turned this off within the first 20 minutes. This had zero correlation to the original DOTD at all, and to call this a sequal or prequal is borderline absurd. The only example of any sort of tie-in to DOTD was a mention that "something happened in Florida" similar to the events in current time in the film. I would suggest to just about everyone to avoid this film. It starts out ok with an outbreak in a hospital (this is the supposed "prequal" part) as there is some decent gore. It then goes to "present time" and some absolutely horrid exposition for a good hour or more with these characters now inside the same hospital (now a mental facility). Some of the god awfulest acting I've ever seen, plus they add really bad CGI to some scenes that dont even need it. From after the first 10 minutes of the film, there is no even suggestion hardly that this is a zombie movie as it moves so slow and shitty you would think you were watching a bad soap opera-ish drama or something. Near the end is when it starts picking up a little bit with some good makeup jobs on some of the zombies and in general some decent kills/gore, but it was too little too late. Can't put into words how horrible this was. Strongest recommendation to avoid this shitpile of a complete joke of a zombie movie, much less a sequal to DOTD. It gives the impression of a Cinemax sci-fi late night movie, with a horrible script, shit acting, really bad CGI that has no relevance to the film, etc.

It's really unfortunate that Velocity looks really strong these days, yet its only avaliable on the internet. Would it be THAT hard to put Heat/Velocity shows on syndication much like Superstars and Wrestling Challenge was back in the day? It baffles me that they dont want to at least attempt to make $$$$ off of these shows here in the states anymore. Roughly 500,000 people a week were still checking them out weekly even at the end there. There's gotta be some story why they ixyayed the Peep Show segment w/ Hardy. Probably they were scared of having Hardy work the mic or something. What a depressing way to start out Hardy on the other brand.

Spike giving TNA it's first Prime Time Special
RedJed replied to Dangerous A's topic in TNA Wrestling
Very good news here, this will be the first time I think TNA has ever done a 2 hour cable TV show production. They had those couple Best Damn Sports Show tie-in shows, but I think they were both 90 minutes plus not exactly a TNA show since it was also a vehicle for the people of the BDSSP as well, in fact I know they even helped booked those shows. So this will be VERY interesting to check out to say the least. Considering how strong these hour shows have been, this is exactly what they need to show Spike and the general audience that if they would/could get a 2 hour clearance every week, there might be some serious magic here. My guess is since it will come so close to after BFG and they should still use this as a vehicle to promote their next ppv but yet have strong matches, the main event will likely be Jarrett/AMW v. Dudleys/Raven, which would ideally lead to Raven/Jarrett and AMW/Duds at the next ppv after BFG. You could put Monte Brown in Raven's spot (and it might be likely if Raven is really in the doghouse) but I think that needs to be built up much more before they really start a Jarrett/Brown run. Then again if Raven is really in the doghouse, they could just go ahead and do Raven/Jarrett at this show, possibly. Who knows...
