I ended up ordering it online and got it over the weekend. To much of my unfortunate surprise, each case (3 total) had a loose DVD in there and each DVD was ridiculously scratched up. So I already returned it to the local Wal-Mart here, hoping they'd actually have copies today, but no such luck. So I either wait or order it online again, but considering the condition they were last time, not sure what to do.... The local Wal Mart here had the Forever Hardcore Documentary DVD though, didnt expect that.

I thought the Orton appearance was one of the highlights of the show. Totally didnt see it coming and it builds to what might be a really interesting tag match there. Piper and Orton Jr actually against each other for nostalgia's sake is kind of cool.

Thought maybe that was what you meant but you said this wasnt higher than ANYTHING WWE did in that timeslot, which was not true.

Umm, the last few months of Velocity have been averaging a .5. Yes, this is higher than most weeks of Velocity, in fact its better than any rating in this Spike TV timeslot since April of last year.

Yeah but the argument is that alot of people arent home on Sat nights versus, say a Tuesday night. Considering the timeslot, it is still good even in terms of competition if you ask me.

During an Impact show you expect them to have a match like that right away? The X division, IMO, is unique enough.

Velocity was pretty consistently doing a .5 week to week, so with that said, this is good news for sure. I would expect the replay on Monday night to probably not get much, perhaps around a .5 or so. I doubt Ultimate Fighter did nearly as good as well without that Raw lead-in before it.

I won't go into a huge diabtribe but I thought the show was much better than what we would expect from any other Raw, and hell, this came off like a really strong ppv to be in terms of having two really good matches in the Ironman and ladder match. Each segment seemed to have purpose and they turned up things a little more to be more intense with some of the segments (I suppose playing to the "we're back on USA and are uncensored" thing). The HHH-Flair angle was GOLD if you ask me. The last 20-25 minutes was kind of off from the SD match angle to the end of the show, I would assume because they knew they were running late (from the Austin segment?) and they were rushing through everything there from the last 3 segments or so. But other than the Austin/McMahon segment, which started ok but then got totally stupid once Linda came around, the show as a whole was strong by my standards tonight, and I seemed to have a high standard for the show going into it. So yeah, I felt like they did hit a home run here considering more than anything those two extremely strong matches.

From Meltzer.... Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels will open the show with their Iron Man match. That is a good idea because if it was at 9 p.m., it would risk a lot of viewers switching to football or UFC for 15-20 minutes. All WWE TV Iron Man matches have seen massive audience leaving during the body, and tuning back because they know when the finish is coming. ---Not a bad idea at all IMO

Who's the chick next to Jim and Flair? Is that Flairs new chick by chance?

Hillbilly Jim doesnt look very "hillbilly" these days at all. Hey, at least they are doing SOMETHING with the set, in changing up the sides a bit with all of the screens. Better than nuthin....

Probably just because they arent as confident in TNA's ability to draw completely quite yet. If they pull in good numbers for the first few weeks of Impact, things could drastically change.

Next week looks strong, Duds v. AMW is a definate big time TNA match that is main event calibur for sure. Can't wait! I would imagine we might be seeing a Southern Justice beatdown next week on the Duds, explaining why they wont be at BFG.

Albeit a very delayed response, but I checked out the show the night of it and thought it was pretty decent for their first Spike show. We all have to consider what they are trying to do here and that is introduce the masses to new characters and some established ones too that might be familiar to the general casuals (this is why I had no problem with the final segment). So with that said, I think they did great. Sure, there was no holy shit matches, but I dont think we should expect that intitally here, especially since now the clear key is going to have to be to build strongly to the ppvs and showcase/establish characters. The production values here were VERY strong too. I hadnt read the spoilers so I wasnt even expecting the Dudleys that much, so that was cool to see them. The Nash appearance after somewhat deflated the Dudley surprise but it was still alright. Wish they would have aired the Dudley rant on WWE, its over at the TNA website and have to say would have been fun to see on TV.

Saw the Ortiz one, had no idea they would be airing the others so early - gotta give Spike credit here. Oh well hopefully someone has recorded them or I will be able to find them at a later date, maybe on the TNA website at some point, etc.

If anyone figures out how to put these on DVD, as I've said before, I will do a trade w/ you down the road when you can fill up a DVD with some of the best stuff from each show. On a side note, does anyone have a copy of last week's Velocity (last one on Spike)?

I thought his response to Warrior was pretty damn respectable towards him and the situation, all things considered. That is what irks me about this whole situation - I didnt feel WWE did anything wrong with that DVD really. Main reason being they tried to work with him on it, he appeared to have been completely uncooperate and unreasonable (wasnt there something about him demanding a face to face point/counterpoint with Vince and Linda?) and now we should all be shocked WWE shit on him after attempt over attempt with him? They gave him props when props were due, but when they weren't, they didnt pull any punches. So what is the big deal? This WASN'T a total and complete burial and for Warrior to respond in the way he did was uncalled for and immature. Should he be mad? Sure. But Warrior could have taken the high road and done an intelligent response to the DVD but instead just replied in the manner everyone pretty much expected. And dont worry, Vince is still an asshole too, but at least he thinks before he speaks nine out of ten times.

This is the easiest way to put things in perspective (hopefully): No matter how out there the ideas are, Vince STILL is not personally and might I add, maliciously attacking people like Warrior does time after time over a public forum. Cmon people, Warrior fucking name calls and mocks people, dead or alive. Again I go back to the fact that the Warrior DVD wasn't an outright and malicious burial of him on a personal level - in fact they gave him credit where credit was due and tried to keep it fair and respectable (as respectable as possible I suppose). There is no doubt Vince is no saint, but just because he approves, or fuck, even comes up with ideas that are outlandish, offensive, sexists, etc, etc - DOES NOT mean he is PERSONALLY jumping on people or places. Its like saying a guy that directs a horror movie and wants to make it as sick and gorey as possible - well then by default he just HAD to be a horrible person and has personal vendettas and ideas, visions, to do such acts that he puts out there on film in his own personal life. And to take that a step further, in relation to that, Warrior would be the one DOING those acts. Maybe its a goofy analogy but the point is that there should be no point in arguing this even - I cant believe some of you are this "smarkish" to not see the absurdity of what you are trying to compare here.

Hmmm well while those segments dont sound extremely interesting its certainly different. If anyone gets a solid schedule of when all of these extra segments will be running during the next few days, please post!

Yeah it must be since each show is listed at 200 minutes in length and each ppv would only be around 170 minutes or so. Nice!

Surprisigly, the DVD is only $20? I thought it was going to be $30. Even better of a deal than I expected. If these are the full 2 disc versions of each show, this is one of the best DVD deals ever. Even if they are just versions with nothing more than just the ppv itself, its still totally great.

Just because I dont want to read any results and angles for the Impact shows, and thus dont want to go into that thread at all, can someone just post the spoilers here for these commercial/segment insert details or whatever they are that was taped?

Did they say how long standard shipping takes?

I checked around here too and nothing at all, no tag up for it, etc. Its weird because the Wal Marts around here have a wierd variety of sports titles lately I wasnt expecting, like numerous PRIDE and KOTC DVDs. Plus an assload of WWE ones new and old. Guess I'll probably be ordering this from their website when they "get more in stock."
