  1. Agreed, it was a very odd setlist, and the show itself seemed really cut, I think it was only 70 minutes or something.
  2. Victor is a weird one, I think he is used to being the smart and controlling sibling and then when he realized he fucked up because of his ego and potentially cost them sticking around in the race, the dude basically broke down bigtime and had a hard time accepting he wasn't the all powerful and great one he thought he was or something. I mean seriously, was it just me or was this titbaby crying way too much considering the situation? Just fucking accept you fucked up, listen to your sister sometimes, and move the fuck on. Gotta give gay dad credit for trucking on with a groin pull, by the way.
  3. I'm actually going to go see Friday the 13th again on Tuesday (bargain day at the local theater, $5 all day, yay!) before it leaves the theaters, figure it's worth a second viewing before it leaves. I also went and saw The International today (which I think has already fallen off the radar of the BO) and was pretty impressed by it. Went and saw Coraline a few days ago as well, strictly because of the 3D interest, and was blown away by that part of the film. Probably the best 3D I've seen in a movie yet to date, and I have pretty much seen anything 3D that has come out in the last 2-3 years.
  4. Funny thing is, I actually saw that today. I thought it was pretty good for what it was. It's the best entry in the series since "The Final Chapter", and yeah, it's one of the few recent remakes that does justice to series, especially when you consider that it feels less like a remake than it does an entertaining entry in the franchise. Exactly. It's a shame it has taken such a drop in just two weeks, but it holds the record of the best horror weekend opening of all time. So that's a plus.
  5. That is some seriously ridiculous shit! So the projections for that 3D concert were 3 TIMES what they did? Ouch, well that experiment sure failed and hopefully we see less and less of those things, especially since aren't tickets like $15-20 per person for that shit? And they wonder why it didn't meet expectations? I did see a U2 concert in 3D last year though, and it was really good. Best part was it was just the same price as a regular movie. If it wasn't, I wouldn't have bothered going. ----- On another note, holy diver on Friday the 13th again this week.
  6. Big jump for Slumdog, no surprise though. I figured the damn Jonas Brothers concert would easily take number one, but guess not. Damn, Taken is having some amazing legs on its' run.....I went to it earlier this week and can see why, its a really good job at a storyline premise that I thought was going to be predictable and boring. Felt ALOT like Commando mixed with Bourne Identity.
  7. Can't wait to see this on HDNet, I can definately tell they are booking things a bit differently here to be more friendly into an hour timeslot on TV. The formula seems to be a few competitive squash matches to establish personalities, another match that is more of a midcard match that probably goes 5-10 minutes, and then a main event that hit the 15 minute mark. Curious what or if is filmed otherwise for the show besides the matches, such as if they cut any angles on the side.
  8. How was the Christian/Swagger match at the house show, curious about that since the two they have had on TV have been extremely good. That's a very oddly booked, yet good sounding main event.
  9. I already have two of those, got them weeks ago. So how many Legends of Wrestling DVDs ARE out right now? I'm confused on whats exclusive where...
  10. Yeah calling Lita good looking and then dogging on Melina? Cmon now. Honestly, all of the WWE chicks are pretty fucking decent if you ask me. Current and past with the exceptions being Nicole Bass and Chyna, before the jaw work and feminine makeover.
  11. I would totally go see this in the theater if it was playing around here, but it's not. Definately gives me the vibe of being so bad it's good. For what it's worth, so far this year the worst movie I've seen is easily Underworld 3.
  12. Going back to a few posts about the discussion I brought up on doing more "deluxe editions" of significant Manias in history, etc, someone asked if the Deluxe version of Mania III is worth picking up, and I would definately say so. I just watched it again the other day and its awesome. One cool feature they had was that during the show (which seemed to be uncut from top to bottom from the actual pay per view version) they had little facts and figures about stuff showing up on the bottom of the screen during the matches, as well as pop up boxes with workers talking about this and that with the match in question. Plus they have a ton of extras as well, including alot of the SNME stuff prior, as well as promos and vignettes that built to the event. It was a two disc deal, and I tell ya, if they would do this with more of the older Manias, and even SummerSlams, Rumbles, and Survivor Series events, I would be all about it.
  13. What a dissapointing last episode, I've basically given up on the show now.....that was their chance to make good of the lackluster past 2-3 episodes and it pretty much went nowhere. HRG is still the same grey character as he ever has been, and the character development here with almost everyone on the show is on a virtual standstill. That ending just made me groan too, that's what the whole season is going to lead to? Are you fucking kidding me? The only chance they had to redeem themselves after a slow and tedious 40 minutes was at least to leave it on a strong note with a great cliffhanger, but that was anything but that.
  14. I agree, that should be the ECW title match for Mania, have it extreme rules or something, and if they give it the same amount of time and effort as they did in this week's match, it will be an easy **** for sure. One thing about Christian, which I saw in the last six months of his TNA run and now here in WWE again.....he has REALLY turned up the workrate to an amazing level. That was always the thing about him that I thought was keeping him from getting to that next level......because his workrate was pretty average. But he's changed that up big time. Swagger also busted his ass just as much as Christian in that match and looked extremely impressive. Ultimately, that match accomplished a great amount of things. It got Swagger over stronger, Christian didn't come out of the match looking like shit at all whatsoever, and the feud still has tons of legs.
  15. Not sure about Jimmy Rave, but Lance Hoyt is now a member of the Voodoo Murders in All Japan. Rave also was given his walking papers, so he's not coming back either.
  16. Lockdown looks extremely strong on paper with those four single matches on top. I figured we would see Lethal Lockdown highlight the MEM v. Frontline feud, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Will they even do Lethal Lockdown this year then? Also, with Sting and Foley on top, one has to think Foley will be going heel on the next ppv, or else Sting reverts back to more of a heel. Take your pick.
  17. For what it's worth, and be it a bit delayed on thoughts, but I thought that empty arena match with Sting and Angle was some of the better stuff TNA has done in months in terms of a start to finish ending segment that really was significant and well done. That fall Angle took HAD to have been an accident, just seemed very awkwardly done, like Angle was just trying to work the barricade by the seats there and leaned over far too much (or Sting accidentally pushed him over too much) and he took the fall. Especially considering that he appeared legitimately to work Sting with some stiff can shots right after, and didn't even sell the bump at all, it was weird. The rest of the show was, as usual, hit or miss. Some really bad stuff like the Abyss/Stevie Richards shit, the ODB vignette (which sounds like it's a work and just an excuse to debut some new guy into the company perhaps), and the promo by Roxxi, Taylor and "The Governor" was so horrible. And these chicks are supposed to be babyfaces? They came off like the most whacked out chicks ever, bigger bitchier attitudes than the Beautiful People even do. The good stuff though was real good, like the Beer Money match, the street fight with MCMGs, etc. The Scott Steiner promo was fucking hilarious, and actually even led somewhere with Joe holding Steiner down on the bench.
  18. Wow, a Don West heel turn? Well, at least that either will accomplish one of two things, or perhaps both. Have him leave the announce booth, or at worst have him turn into a heel commentator, which sounds at least ok from a first impression standpoint. So I'm guessing a five way Ultimate X match with those four guys and Suicide? That should be good, since Daniels or Kaz are going to be under the mask there. So both Rock and Rave are gone I would assume from losing that match? I read somewhere that the Madison Rayne chick is supposed to be the new member of the BP, makes sense by having her turn on Taylor Wild. Sounds like a hell of a mess in that Mafia/Jarrett segment. When will TNA ever learn that even when a heel says the company is/was full of nobodies, that it's not a good idea?
  19. Didn't Friday the 13th have the best opening weekend of any horror movie ever or something last weekend? Or maybe it was just the best opening for a horror remake/reboot and/or best opening weekend (and overall gross total) for any of the other Friday the 13th films. But then to drop that far that quick after a week, wow. Well, I guess you can't say it bombed, or anything like that. Just got people in quick to see it.
  20. Yeah, I feel like they are really grasping at straws in terms of character development, and things/main ideas are being rehashed over and over again, such as the dynamic with Claire and HRG, it's like ok already, we get that Claire is the stubborn little girl who doesn't want daddy protecting her anymore. How many times have they gone back to this? Same for Hiro and Ando, we get the dymanic there, it doesn't have to be reinterpreted to us ad nauseum. Same goes for just about every storyline in this show right now, it's just stagnant for the most part. Next week's show appeared to look promising, but time will tell.
  21. Well, we already pretty much know the next two weeks of Beer Money matches. Rock n Rave v. Beer Money (somehow both Rock and Rave will get pinned) Sonjay and ???? v. Beer Money for second week. I don't think he will be that missed really. He's always been ok in the ring but attempts at building a compelling character with him just havent worked one lick. Unlike alot of sentiments, I really don't mind some of these older TNA guys not coming back after their contracts would go up. I don't see what Petey, Rave, Lance Hoyt, or Sonjay could do at this point to really give the shows that extra boost of interest anyway. It's like they have been around far too long to mean anything anymore.
  22. While I think we all could admit having Heyman writing would at least be much more better booking than it is now, to say it would double ratings, and particularly without any severe changes in their advertising/marketing/branding, is absolutely ridiculous. On the flip side, I'm sure the number would jump A BIT just because one would assume and pretty much set in stone that the storylines would be far more compelling. But would it double? Hell no. Would it jump up a .1 or .2 or so within 3 months? Probably. What would be the real litmus test by bringing in a guy like Heyman, wouldn't be so much if the rating went up (because honestly, it doesn't really matter to TNA, they aren't making money off the advertising, Spike is) but if he could sell those pay per views better than they have consistently. They have over a million viewers, and at best, it seems 25K of those are only gettting the pay per views on average. That's a HORRIBLE number that is the real problem here. Not a fucking rating. So, to break it down, better booking by whoever would do it, wouldn't double the rating no matter how you slice it, but it could probably easily double the ppv buys TNA normally gets for their shows, if not more than double.
  23. It's going to be a total schmoz, has to be.
  24. Jon Voight is the main villian of the season? What's his role supposed to be?
  25. I tend to agree, but if they are at least going to have him be the Krueger character before the fire and his "death" that is better than nothing. I'm very interested to see how they will make the new burned up dream master Freddy look cosmetically, that is for sure. I just read they have a writer and director attached now. Production is supposed to start sometime in the spring, I would think late spring at this point. The writer was the same guy who did Arachnaphobia and Doom (ugh) which begs the question.......what the fuck? He has no experience in horror at all. As for the director, I guess his only claim to fame is directing music videos, including Smells Like Teen Spirit. Again, ZERO experience with horror. Not convinced this Elm Street reboot is going to be as promising as Friday the 13th turned out at this point.
