Pretty controversial finish there, Quarry would have won anyways.

Cmon get the next match on NOW. Josh looked ok but a pretty basic win, felt like a complete one sided bout akin to a squash match or something, I expected more out of Spratt. Jesus christ they are fucking up here production wise going back and forth out of commercials.

McMahon would have never been even realized to BE a good heel in the first place if it wasnt for Montreal though, IMO.

His TNA writing was alright, but it was more the workers busting their ass than anything. It was a large step above the writing from Jarrett and Mantel but just about anything would have been, The current TNA committee of writers seems to write a little more cohesive and generally interesting angles/storylines/programs than Rhodes did. To be fair though, he was in the crosshair of top level politics from Jarrett and Co. during his booking tenure, so its hard to say if he was responsible for such idiot moves on not capitalizing on Monte Brown as a strong babyface or not, for example. His GM role was the most annoying of all of his booking since he had two chicks ,who he wouldnt be able to even attract in the first place, vying for his attention by competing against each other in numerous skits/storylines. With all of this said, I dont see what he could offer to the WWE creative team, and I know he HATES being on a committee so it would be pointless. If you are going to go back to the past with some names to help in creative, bringing back Heyman and Cornette to WWE creative would be a much more plausible move. Hell, even Russo would probably be better as a writer than Rhodes at this point.

I picked it up and it's definately worth the price if you liked the movies. Both are remastered in Hi-Def and each have a nice sounding 5.1 soundtrack. Some different extra features included also. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The scrapbook and two episodes of the cartoon are the most noteworthy new features. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh yeah that too Depends on your preferences I suppose. Box cover is pretty snazzy also.

Also from WO.com --WWE.com reported Dusty Rhodes meeting with Stephanie McMahon today. We have no other details other than the company has been adding a lot of writers of late, but it's also known they want him for their legends program. Rhodes has floated to WWE being interested in working on the writing end since he was fired/quit by TNA as an on-air performer. I'm really surprised by any discussions other than for the HOF or legends stuff. Although some may say he's better to have in a creative role than shitty hollywood writers, I just can't see him being involved in the writing given what happened with him in TNA. He basically had a chance to do something with the product, and more times than not, it didnt amount to much of anything.

Like I said, sure HBK/Hogan alone with draw interest BUT if they ever had a rematch between the two (I NEVER said their SummerSlam match), a nice touch might be Bret as ref. The storyline could be ongoing heat with not just HBK but with Hogan as well from all the BS between those two in the past. And time in this happening at Survivor Series and it would be interesting as hell IMO. Ultimately thats probably the hottest return for Bret one can imagine at this point, since I dont see him ever playing into a storyline with Vince over the past.

From Meltzer.... Bret Hart will be at WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT, for a meeting today regarding participation in a DVD project. We'll have complete details of this story as well as the background in this coming Monday's issue of the Wrestling Observer. ----So I guess its just for the DVD but you know discussions will have to end up as well about other things, such as a return here and there. Bret being ref for HBK/Hogan would be fantastic, but perhaps better fit for a rematch, if there ever is one. In a perfect world, that would be at Survivor Series. Having him the ref at SummerSlam is a bad idea so soon as they could really hype the fuck out of a Bret Hart return like crazy and hot shotting it in just two weeks is straight up bad business. They already got a potential draw in HBK v. Hogan, they dont need him to make it any bigger/better.

Lets beat the dead horse just a little more, eh? I wonder if this is the first time Bret has even been in Titan Towers since 97? I would assume so....let's hope for a few stories during the day ala Lesnar when he came in.
-
I wouldnt expect him as a full time worker on the main shows. If anything he might be stuck on Heat most of the time, or it could very well be a contract much like a Jake Roberts or something, more like a legends contract.

So what's it going to be: complaining about out-of-nowhere title changes, or complaining about predictable title changes? No offense, but it just seems that no one can decide here. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you think I am just unabashed complaining about this, you need to get your head examined. Cmon, if you can't fucking see the wrong way to do business with a move like that, you dont understand the dynamics of how things should be run. London had a substantially long run with the CW title (since around Mania) - for them to just nonchalantly job him out to a guy who they havent even built up, even a little bit, to win the title is just bad business - it makes London look like complete shit, and Guido doesnt really get over either since he's been projected as a joke for months now. The worst thing is it hurts the CW title, which in theory should be something to crow about now with enough talent to definately support it's role on the brand. If you would have read my whole post, I said I would have had no problem if they would have done what I thought was going to be the plan, with Juvi beating London for the title. That just makes sense - it could have been booked for SummerSlam or, at least, Smackdown with a build of sorts. I could care less about how titles are changed (out of nowhere or predictable, I could care less) as long as they are done with logic and a semblance of order and sense. Might be possible though that London wins it back next week or something, as it could just be a way to try to draw some interest to Velocity (which of course is nothing but a good thing) and to try to put London over more, but of course that is dependant on how well the Smackdown show promotes this title change and the aftermath itself.
-
Most definately

While I'm all for a push for more worthiness of Velocity, but its boggling my mind that they wasted a multi-month CW reign for London by jobbing him out of nowhere to Nunzio on Velocity?!!! If anything I was expecting Juvi v. London at SummerSlam if we were lucky and a title switch. LAAAAAAAAME Chapter 2 sounds way worse than chapter 1 too......

Apologies if this has been addressed before, but did anyone catch the wedding scene at the end of the credits? One of the few pretty funny scenes of the movie, IMO.

I forgot which thread it was (possibly the Raw thread from last week), but you said something along the lines of "WWE has bad shows every once in a while", meaning that most of them are good (according to you) when they really haven't been lately, nor have most of the shows been good in the last few years. It's just that recently, the shows have gotten worse than usual, I think. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Leading into Mania and through the spring/summer, I thought there was actually more entertaining shows than not. We got treated with pretty solid matches rather consistently on Raw and Smackdown (Eddy/Rey, Angle/Flair, Shelton/HBK, etc, etc) and storylines, other than a few abysmal ones on Smackdown, weren't horribly shitty. What I had said that was GENERALLY, WWE had been having a pretty good streak (which doesnt mean every week of solid shows) of decent shows, thats all. But then the ball dropped HARD last week. Just my two cents.

I run (publisher/editor/sales & editorial manager/etc) an arts and entertainment magazine that serves virtually all of southern Minnesota. Pretty fun job although some of the content we do I dont personally care for, but we have to serve a general demographic of families and adults 26 and up so I have to bite my tongue for the better interest of the readers. Here is our website, has most of the same content as in each physical issue each month, I normally write a few features a month and then put together everything. Only thing I dont really do is the graphic design work as much as I want to. Applauze Magazine

That's true - supposedly, one of the reasons WWE.com did such a major change lately is just to try to break news before other wrestling sites. That may be all this is, period. So in that sense this is nothing about work or not, it might just be what really IS happening. Some brief info from pwtorch.com relating to all of this... Sources as of yesterday were saying that Lesnar was taking a long time to go over the contract offer that he and his attorney had been sent to the point that WWE officials were growing impatient. "He's overanalyzing it," said one source familiar with the situation. WWE has leverage over Lesnar since the only way he can wrestle or fight is if he agrees to return to WWE under their terms. If not, he has to continue to pursue a legal recourse to getting out of his non-compete clause which he voluntarily signed last year that restricts him from wrestling for anyone else for several more years.

It's still weird that Jericho hasn't even wrestled a match for quite sometime now, like you said. Because of that, WWE's build-up of Jericho for a title match has been piss-poor, of course. So RedJed, where did your "once in a while bad WWE shows" argument go after tonight's Raw? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Huh? I dont even know what you are quoting me from. I thought the show wasn't bad for the first hour or so in terms of me being entertained (and that may very well be because I was stoned off my ass) but once hour number 2 hit, it started to really drag. Lame main event to the max. For two WWE shows in a row now, they have gotten extremely uncreative and done main events that were just recently on the show prior. Carlito, if they really want to push him, isnt the guy who should have been doing the job there. Even Bischoff v. Cena would have been better than that which is saying alot.
-
I'm 99 percent sure this is just part of the work they have been putting on, to try to draw some sense of surprise when/if he shows up. But if, by chance, it ISN'T, I dont get what the point was of even talking about the Lesnar discussions in the first place. Stranger things have happened though - the whole WWE.com coverage COULD have been a way to further bury Lesnar IF he didnt agree to return. It seems overly petty though and I dont think that is whats happening here. I fully expect to see Lesnar at SummerSlam.

I'm fucking rollin here - this is funny shit
-
This gives me flashbacks to the Billionaire Ted skits or something - either that or the NWO promo playing the 4 Horsemen back in WCW
-
They should have have Bischoff come out and say that to the crowd during a commercial, that would wake them up!!
-
Yeah they are a fucking shitty crowd for sure. Havent popped for much of anything the whole show and overall this has been a very strong Raw I think. But this match isnt going to help an already quiet (not drunk enough?) crowd.
