I agree, I think Jarret should defend it more. It pretty much too late for that. Thats why Styles should put Jarrett over cleanly. This makes Jarrett look strong going into a match against Monty Brown. Monty beats him cleanly. Then they have a rematch, Monty escapes through some botched interference. Then AJ vs Jeff for the #1 contender and Jeff can put him over cleanly, setting up AJ vs Monty. Then Jarrett can stay away from the title for awhile. Maybe he can put Daniels over. I love Jarrett, but he doesn't need to become 4 or 5x NWA champ by 2006. I agree with you on everything here except Jarrett going over AJ clean - I do like the plan of action though that you are saying with Styles-Brown, long term. It (having Jarrett over Styles clean) might possibly ruin Styles ever competing for the world title again, and basically its just not smart when he is the Sting of TNA, in that he is the franchise and long term he is the guy to build around even without the title all the time. With that said, have Styles come very close to beating Jarrett but it ends up the typical Jarrett screwjob finish. While this whole thing with Jarrett as champ has gone so long that the amount of time he's had the title seems to hurt the world title scene more than help it (While I agree its good to have champs with a long run, its not good if that person with the title is not drawing a dime - ie difference between Samoa Joe v. Jarrett) I have to say that they need to have one more big Jarrett win as champ where he can then really hit the peak of proclaiming he's never going to lose the belt, is the King of the Mountain, etc, etc, and then at the Anniversary ppv he finally loses it, hopefully to Brown. By that token, he would have been champ for officially over a year by the time all is said and done. But as I have said, if TNA has no plans to resign Brown, they might as well give Styles the belt now as he's the only other viable choice other than Brown. But yeah - have Jarrett beat Styles by screwjob on the ppv, lead to Brown-Jarrett at the next ppv (OR a King of the Mountain match which Brown wins) and then after, give Brown a nice run (first opponent - Rhyno) and lead to a Jarrett-Styles feud in the summer over the number one contendership (which Styles would win over Jarrett convincingly) leading to what is supposedly their plan for their own WrestleMania type ppv in Sept - which would be Styles/Brown for the world title. That could be a money match if they worked from now until then on it.

I think its fucking nuts that the FSN contract is done in a few weeks and TNA has not made the decision yet whether to go to somewhere else or not. When/if they move from FSN, its going to be so sudden that nobody will even know about the move - that is something they should promote ahead of time before its done. So with that said, they might as well stay on FSN until they hear a definate answer from Spike, at the least. WGN to me still doesnt seem any better than FSN regardless of the time and day and especially if they still have to pay for the timeslot. Inoki wants to buy TNA? Yikes - I dont know how that would fly at all. If he had a minority stock in the company, that might be interesting as he could have some creative input but not the final say. Its weird with Brown as if they are pressuring him to sign a new contract, thats understandable, but then the report this week from the Torch says that he IS negotiating with TNA right now, but TNA wont even negotiate back. What the ??!!! With the title situation, I actually agree with Jarrett's sentiments and that was something that should have been done months ago - again what Jarrett supposedly was pushing and building towards back before Rhodes came in SUPPOSEDLY. But yeah if they can't come to some agreement soon with Brown, Styles is the second best choice.

Anymore news on the Rhodes appearance? I can't believe Rhodes went on the show knowing his thoughts on the sheets in general and how Meltzer's thoughts on TNA are.

I bet someone will jump on the boat with these films in financing if Land of the Dead does decent box office (which I bet it will). October would be a perfect time to release these on the heels of that potential boom. From the trailers, the films seems pretty decent for what I expected. The behind the scenes teaser they have on their site too is f'n good stuff, it looks to bring the gore. Thought this was kind of cool too though I dont know who the fuck considers Shaun of the Dead a "unofficial sequal" to the original Dawn of the Dead... http://www.returnofthelivingdead4and5.com/...redits/gene.htm

Got this off Observer site.. --It will be announced at tonight's TNA tapings that Tito Ortiz will referee the Jeff Jarrett vs. A.J. Styles match on 5/15 for the Hard Justice PPV. The entire card will have to be made clear tonight, but I believe there will be a Royal Rumble (not using that term of course) style match, using the gauntlet match name. Ortiz is a major pro wrestling fan who during a previous UFC contract issue in 2003, was in negotiations for months with WWE, and is good friends with several pro wrestlers, including Bill Goldberg and Rey Mysterio. ---------- Wow, Ortiz as special ref? This reminds me of Shamrock coming into WWE in 97 - wonder if they will actually sign him up to matches? I would think it has to be at a very high price to have him appear, much less wrestle in the future. Rest of the card will have to be finalized tonight at Impact tapings since its just three weeks away til the ppv and this one taping will serve the whole build.

This album is way different than anything they've done in the past 5-6 years, to try to offer a different opinion here than the consensus that it sucks without hardly anyone here even giving it a listen and just leaving it as "Fred Durst sucks, blah blah blah." It's not like Results May Vary or Significant Other at all. Overall its a short CD and should have been more to it, but from whats on here, its kind of reminiscent in a way of how Metallica tried to go back to a basic formula with St. Anger of just putting out the garage band feel with songs with little structure, the tracks are all over the place, almost like its just a band doing a first cut together and calling that the final version, but heavy as hell overall. I'd give it a chance before you immediately say it has to suck because its Limp Bizkit and Fred Durst. This album grows on you immensely after a few listens and is almost like they are going back to basics here more on the line of Dollar Bill but more harder and rough feeling. Definate change of pace for sure.

Well this is definately their best effort since Spiral, thats for sure. Alot more thought put into this album than Fragile was. More aggressiveness for sure than what I've seen from Reznor in years. If you want a hell of an experience, pick up the dual disc and throw it in a nice 5 channel plus system - I got 7 speakers in my apartment here and most of the tracks on the disc are so well seperated with unique sounds per each output channel that you can't help but enjoy the hell out of the album. I hope more artists go this dual disc route as it will actually make me buy these albums (and they are still cheap if you buy them right away - I got the NIN DD for only $10) v. finding them for free by downloading online.

Regarding the tag title match, maybe it wont matter or not, but does anyone think that the Naturals may get cheered strongly at the show just because of the affiliation with Candido? I almost wonder if this match could see a double turn, since AMW is so bland right now in their same role as usual that it needs a tweak and TNA has been suggesting to turning them for months now anyway. I almost hope that tag with Monte Brown doesnt happen - it sounds weak as hell and makes no sense. If anything just do Outlaw v. James or even Outlaw v. Killings. DDP could be used in the gauntlet match. Then add in a few more X division matches and you have a pretty solid card. Brown, according to this week's Torch, is really on questionable ground for now as he is trying to negotiate a hefty re-signing through his agent (same guy who works with Nash, Austin, etc) and the Jarretts wont even return a proposal back as they think its too high, so I am betting Brown is probably going to be a free agent soon and out of TNA. Biggest mistake ever there if TNA lets him go, but at this point it wouldnt surprise me if they do it since they obviously dont see the value in this guy with the way he's been used lately.

Thats kind of what I am thinking - the WWE title has been portrayed as second rate for awhile now and I think they will continue to do this post-draft as well with Christian "jobbing out' on the way to SD. I think they are thinking of it like if a guy is about to turn, sometimes they do some serious jobs on the way out, but this is a little different - you can't groom a contender for a top tier belt by having him lose when you are, at the same time, building him. The the portrayal of the WWE title v. gold belt is just how it is - even the announcers flat out always seem to say the gold belt is way more prestigious than the WWE title (well at least Jim Ross clearly makes a point of saying that). Hell, go back to Royal Rumble - Batista eliminating Cena says it right there, as well as the placement of the gold belt title matches v. WWE title on the big WWE ppvs the past few years. -

The only real issue I had with Raw last night was Christian jobbing out pretty quickly to Kane. With the way Christian has been getting over on the mic, he needs big wins to build up a move over to Smackdown - not being portrayed as "second rate" to the top Raw guys going into that, is key. Christian at the very least should been penciled to get to the finals if you ask me, if not have been winning this whole tournament. -

WWE is on a real roll lately. WrestleMania was f'n great wrestling for sure, and the Raws/Smackdowns since then have been interesting and full of decent to good matches consistently, with a sollid change lately of the old formula of WWE matches (kick/punch/closeline/highspot) out the window, thanks to guys like Steamboat and DiBiase, I assume, helping wrestlers lay out matches lately and after a few months here, the wrestlers are really getting used to this more well laid out formula and they are now in some cases clicking on most cylanders. This has helped the product tenfold to me - even if the storylines at times lag, there is still a solid in-ring product right now for sure. Anyway what to say about Raw last night - the tournament idea, which sounded boring on paper, ended up delivering BIGTIME and this might be best tournament on free TV by the time all is said and done if further matches continue to deliver like this. Benjamin-HBK had one of the best matches on a Raw show in years. Also, Jericho and Edge tore it up and Benoit beats HHH with the sharpshooter?!! Consider me so shocked and surprised by that finish I thought I was legitimately hallucinating. If the WWE keeps this up, the summer months are going to be good, not to mention that I am really anticipating this ECW ppv and hell, even the next Smackdown ppv. The ppv on Sunday was also very good which has already been covered. Benjamin has had two of his best matches ever the last two shows, as his match with Jericho on the ppv was **** material and the match with HBK was even better. Give him another year or so and this guy is going to be huge if the WWE allow him to run with the ball. How is this possible - I'm enjoying the heck out of the WWE product consistently lately??!!! Every week when I think Raw is going to be the shits, it isnt. -

Much like Mania, HHH comes out and bitches about that he's not finished with Batista, etc, etc. -

I would bet this is an 8 man tournament to crown a challenger for the title around the same time Judgment Day is, likely the title match even to happen the day after Judgment Day perhaps - maybe on the same night the draft happens. HHH winning this is far too predictable and I dont see them having him win a tournament with that next Raw ppv so far away. Bold prediction: Christian wins the tournament and then gets drafted right before he is to challenge Batista, or is about to challenge him and gets attacked by Cena the night of the draft (when I would bet this title match happens for the winner of the tournament). Since he never got a real title shot, he ends up getting a crack at Cena with a guaranteed title shot over on Smackdown. -

Fallon was much, much better than I expected in the House on Haunted Hill remake. I think you are getting Chris Kattan (sp?) and Fallon mistaken as two of the same. -
Was I the only person who heard some fan ripping apart on Edge at ringside during his match? Crowd on TV sounded dead most of the ppv, but from reading live reports it didnt seem to be the real case, kind of like Mania 21 was.
-
Impact was weird to watch, albeit a little interesting and definately somber though, as the show on Friday showed what potential Candido was just, at this last taping, beginning to really be allowed to show as part of that Naturals team in TNA. That tag match for the belts was easily one of the better Impact matches EVER on that show which unfortunately will always be overshadowed by the obvious - it's too bad its always going to be remembered probably not necessarily in that light as much as it will for the last match Candido played a part in - with such a promising role seemingly for Candido from the injury as their manager, even while he would have been rehabbing.
-
I thought that was a very solid ppv all around - the only real down part of the show was Vis v. Kane and the Masters segment. The rest was real strong - opener and last man standing match were very much ppv calibur matches with enough time in each. I really can't bitch too much at all for either of those matches, putting both near **** level. Tag turmoil was ok, as was the Hogan match for what it was - Main event was much better than Mania's main event with the two, and I would say exceeded my expectations, although they were pretty low. I guess they are saving the blood until the 3rd match, which I hope isnt just setting up a HHH title run again for the summer after the next Raw ppv and HIAC. Good setup match until that time here with this match. Batista did a good job of selling and the psychology with HHH working on the back was solid. *** 1/4 for that one. If Judgment Day is anything like this ppv, WWE will be on a roll and then if they make the right switches at the draft, I'm liking this direction. I wouldnt really complain if all ppvs had only 6 matches for a 3 hour show, as long as the right ones are given time like they seemed to be here. A little too much filler here and there (ie the Masters segment and the divas thing) but it all tried to serve a purpose. Christian continues to get himself over too - they better be careful or they might just have a new babyface on their hands. Trish also impresses the hell out of me these days not just by her looks but how well she is doing with her character - she can actually speak in front of a crowd which she was never able to do well until only just somewhat recently. Lita is definately turning on Kane soon, likely actually going with Edge.
-
I dont know but Masters is getting some great heat off "her" - lol
-
This segment really should not be on ppv (with Masters challenging anyone for $3,000) - not even fucking Raw. He's challenged some chick with muscles in the crowd.
-
This crowd is real dead tonight, all things considering, and this aint gonna help the situation.
-
A Divas segment is made even more weak with Chris Masters interrupting. Nice way to lose momentum on a show, WWE!
-
That shit with Kane and Lita was weird They got all the divas out and Lawler is in the ring...should have known there was gonna be this but still the rest of the matches will be given decent time.
-
Oh the fucking irony! Lita was shown watching Edge beat Benoit in the backstage and was shown smiling. They wont......will they? Lita is acting real strange too - heel turn?
-
Edge el victorio - very solid match, this show has been great for a "non-big" WWE ppv. No doubt at least *** 3/4 if not a tad more. This Hardy shit just keeps more crazier show by show.
-
Edge nails Benoit with a freaking brick - damn
