    WWE Raw (8/18/2008)

I think there is alot of overanalysing that match last night. Its not like Jericho won clean......I don't see the big deal. Its either giving him a reason to be added to the title match at the next ppv, or otherwise likely put him in line for the next major title shot down the road. They're just establishing him as a title contender, and I don't see how that made Punk look shitty at all really. It's typical booking, it's not like we havent seen this before many times over, in both the champion being a face or a heel. And they just got done making a point that Punk has credibility from the JBL program, so, again, let's not freak out over relatively nothing here.

Well, ESPN does own a run of WCCW stuff that they called "Heroes of World Class" or something, so I'm sure it's possible to see that, and GWF definately also.

    NOES re-make casting updates

The film hasn't even officially been picked up, greenlit, or anything. It's, at best, in development, and I think a script isn't even finished. So it will be awhile before they reveal who will play the Fredster.

    WWE SummerSlam 2008

Hell of a match, even for HIAC standards. I felt they were progressing on the outside of the cell, to then climb up and finish the match up there, but what they ended up doing back in the cell made up for that. The ending was fun stuff too, for what it was. Excellent show, other than Henry/Hardy, that whole show kicked ass. One of the better ppvs of the year for sure.

He can handle the losses though, in fact having him putting over guys really has only better served him as well, seems like alot of people were getting sick him always seemingly going over everyone for the longest time, and this has kind of alleviated that issue. Yeah, a rematch is definately in order......and possibly the rubber match at Mania still. I am thinking Batista will go heel down the road still, probably turning on Cena as well, possibly after Cena beats Batista clean in the rematch, and an after match angle occurs with Orton running in and him and Batista laying Cena out. I expect a slow build to all of that, though, and the eventual third match too. Judging by the ringwork seen here, they can definately build and sell a long term Cena/Batista program that will lead to that final money match, probably at Mania.

Wow, strong stuff there with Cena and Batista. Phenomenal match that overly exceeed the lackluster hype it was given. Gotta say I'm surprised, I thought they might not gel together, but they brought it.

Yah, HHH/Khali was, much like Punk/JBL, better than I expected. Both were solid enough to keep the shows momentum going strong.

    WWE SummerSlam 2008

That JBL/Punk match delivered better than I expected, even though unintentionally, with the head collision spot that looked painful. But smart booking there, glad WWE followed up with the story of Punk "proving" himself a bit here, it was good to see that. Looking forward to seeing what they have planned for him in Chicago tomorrow for sure. I hope they just move on from the JBL program now, though. Punk proved himself and there's nothing else that needs to be done. I dont get how some are bitching about this show so far......other than the bad Hardy/Henry nonsense, this has been a strong ppv so far in terms of undercard quality. Specific match placements on a show are so trivial to bitch about as long as each match is good and delivers on some level.

BTW, even if Jericho didn't connect with that punch (and for what its worth, I hope he didn't, it just made me wonder with them even suggesting the idea that they are even "faking" her have a busted lip, doesn't seem very company-like to push that they were going to plan it to look "real" in something like that) it still doesn't make that segment any less better, as it was one of the best single angles I've seen so far this year in WWE easily, legitimate punch to her or not.

Haha, Bradshaw just took a legit kick in the balls by a errant Punk spin kick.

If there ever was a ppv calibur angle, that was it. I was totally into everything about it, top notch. I literally had goosebumps when Shawn put Jericho in his place at the end of the promo there (and great crowd reaction too). Then the punch after, holy shit, he stiffed her.....it took a different turn when it turned even more legit feeling by her actually getting potatoed by Jericho, totally hooked me from top to bottom. Now THAT is how you book the next ppv match with those two.....I'm legitimately interested how Michaels is reacting right now to her getting hit legit by Jericho.Even if that "real" part to the segment with the punch hadn't happened, it was strong enough as is. Seriously, I can't say enough how good this all was. The way the announcers sold it too was tremendous. Wow, what a schmoz in the ECW title match. No good reason for that. Dude ..she put something inside her lip by her gums ( like a cotton ball) to make it look puffed up. Dont be an idiot. Well then they got me because her head popped back real quick when he hit her, never got a really good camera shot on it to see how it really was. But it appeared legitimate to me. Her lip was all cut up and shit, also, besides her lip being puffy.

Hardys v. Shelton/MVP? I thought it was hilarious how little they think of Matt Hardy by having him announced as the winner as Jeff's music is playing. That whole segment (I won't even call it a match) was stupid though, but I guess that's their way of keeping the chase going a bit. Just thought that shit like that would have been better served on Tuesday night instead.

Wow, Michaels wife (who used to be a Nitro Girl) looks way different than when I last saw her. She's trying her best to act the part of the concerned wifey.

That visual of Santino on Beth's shoulders was great. Should make for interesting TV as those two playing the "power couple" kind of role even more, now.

    WWE SummerSlam 2008

That was a strong opener, that feud can keep going for all I care, I think they got a few more good matches still to go with each other. Also, I think they should have MVP and Shelton join up as an alliance that tags here and there, call them the Money Players. They got a similar gimmick anyway, why not. Damn, that entrance stage is swanky. Best stage setup they've done ever, barring some of the WrestleManias.

    WWE SummerSlam 2008

Not that it means much since people weren't expecting Foley anyway, but..... --Another note on tonight's show. Mick Foley was originally scheduled to play a part in the Hell in a Cell match as the 10th anniversary of what is probably one of the more famous matches now in wrestling history. He was told during the week that there was a change in plans and he wasn't needed. Foley's "injuries" from Edge a few weeks ago on Smackdown now constitute his being written out as a character. (www.wrestlingobserver.com) I'm guessing Foley probably was going to take some crazy bump, more than likely. This could still just be a swerve and he'll be there, but it seems highly doubtful. It's possible they have someone else taking some big bump, like Vicki (doubtful) or Hawkins/Ryder, but who knows. I expect something significant here for a big memorable moment, even if its an uber protected big bump, ala Rikishi back in 99. And as some have already thrown out there, I'm calling an Orton run-in during Cena/Batista, and a faint chance Batista turns heel in that match by joining up with Orton. Recall there was teasing from an Orton conversation with Batista that they should join up, right before he went down with the injury. I am pretty sure that Orton "accident" was total bullshit to try to swerve the audience for an appearence on this show. Time will tell I guess.

AWA Wrestling back on the air

Sad but true - when I was a wee mark of 7 years old or so, I marked for Bucky Zumoffe because Baron VR told me what a great guy he was I've met Buck a few times at indy shows in MN from the past 10-15 years, and lets just say he's a fuckin weird fucker, big time. Gives Jake Roberts a run for his money as most drugged out, smoked out, soaked up......well you get the point. The only difference is I think Buck has totally lost his mind completely and possibly isnt even on drugs or booze anymore. At least Jake still has regained himself a bit, not the case here. He actually still works around the state once in awhile, a while back he even was a part of a show at a local bar in town here that had his name attached to it, featuring midget wrestling. It was billed as something like "Buck Zumhoffe's Rock N Roll Midget Wrestling" or something. One of the most brutal wrestling shows I've seen, easily. The guy STILL comes out with his boombox! But, yeah, sadly, the guy is almost like an oldschool legend of sorts in Minnesota. Hence some promoter (for all I know, Zumhoffe was putting on these bar shows) attaching his name to the whole deal.

Words can't explain the insanity of the last few shows worth of Buck Zumhoffe.....I don't even know where to start! The fuckin promos he did were some Wrestlecrap gold to a tee.

    Foley to TNA????

Yeah, because none of TNA's shows the past 2 years seem like Russo shows at all! I don't know why people in the company are so afraid to admit Russo does the writing. If they don't admit to it, then why is he there? If they think signing Russo makes them look so lame and pathetic, why did they do it in the first place? And I don't know why people never say this, but the reason why TNA will never gain mainstream popularity is because they have that six-sided ring. In the eyes of mainstream wrestling fans, it makes them look 2nd rate and cheesy. I remember tuning in to one of their shows in 2004 when they were on Fox Sports, and I remember seeing that six-sided ring for the first time, and I immediately thought "What the hell is this?!" So I guess that means AAA in Mexico is a second rate company as well, even though their ratings blow the shit out of any american companies, huh? And nobody is afraid to say Russo does the writing, its just that he's on a committee, so he isn't the only writer around in TNA.
  22. Saw Mirrors tonight and what a great flick. Aja did a tremendous job with this, and Keifer brought it with, basically, a beat down, burned out and way more intense and unpredictable version of Jack Bauer, who fights with demons, tortured souls, and the like. A few really brutal death scenes in this one that I was surprised made it past MPAA guidelines. Plus Amy Smart was bringing the nudity strong in her bath scene (which ironically turns into the sickest scene in the movie by far).

    Impact (8/14/2008)

I don't get your point, what do you want them to do, him playing that evil Arab arrogant heel seems to be his strong point for obvious reasons. They're trying to get him over, and having him go over Lethal isn't really that bad of an idea. Anyway, the rest of the show was hit and miss, highlights included numerous Christy Hemme crotch shots, Salinas with limes, those tremendously cheesy promos by Hernandez and Beer Money, most matches weren't that bad for TV, strong Kong/Gail Kim stuff to lead to their match next week, etc. The few really significant problems I had with the show was the way they treated the whole Angle "injury", especially how Angle himself did (although, granted, doing a "match" like this didn't play upon the injury at all) and also, the way Joe was booked this week just boggled my mind. They GOTTA be turning him heel or something.
  24. Haha, great......give it time, she may pop up in porn in due time at this rate. So she's called the "Dirty Diva" now? Ooooook.... Meh, I'd buy a lapper. EDIT: n/m. She isn't stripping. She is just signing autographs. That's a shame, she might as well just strip, it's not like she's going to be in the business anymore that much likely. She'd make great money I'm sure.

What the fuck is this Rick McCord guy going for by coming out in a tuxedo and looking like the biggest DB evaaaaar?! I don't get his gimmick at all. Oh sheesh, Destruction Crew have a new manager, Christopher Love, who I believe is Bert Prentice perhaps? Still can't remember, or figure out, who the masked guy is in the crowd. Absolutely horrible promo with DJ Peterson and McCord after the match. Seriously, ouch.
