I think we'll see blood after that spot, I see HHH fumbling around in his wristtape. Errr, guess not. Oldschool electrical cord choke spot.
-
An hour of ppv time left, so this and TLC should get some solid matchtime.
-
That was a strong match, I didn't exactly understand Jericho's deal there at the end, though. He just wanted Batista to punish him more? Kind of a shit-stirrer role of sorts? That gave the impression the feud is over with Batista and Michaels, but I would like it to keep going with Batista showing more and more heel side come out. I just don't know what the next step in the feud would be from a storyline perspective, though. Michaels wants another shot at Batista without the Jericho influence? Or maybe Batista turns into a pseudo-bully on Michaels, won't leave him alone, never letting him forget that he retired Flair, etc, constantly just wanting to beat him again ruthlessly?
-
Yeah, I agree. Even the backstage segments are more unique too than a normal ppv.
-
What the fuck is this shit.....that was weird yet kind of funny in a B movie kind of way....
-
This match is picking up into something better than I thought it was going to be, again. I'm still pissed that they didn't do the bullwhip spot on Cena's ribs to get him to bleed.
-
That is what I was expecting, and I would have been all about it just as much. It would have put Bradshaw over as rather sadistic, Cena could really sell the shit out of that and get great sympathy for it too. Plus Bradshaw/HHH is a feud that should probably happen now versus later, as jumping the gun on Cena/HHH next month seems pointless. Plus HHH is in dire needs for main event heels, so they better start building. I guess thats what the draft is for, though. So they figure they'll do Cena/HHH before the draft to get that out of the way, as maybe they will move onto bigger things leading to SummerSlam, etc.
-
Orton trying to lure Batista back into a stable........hmmm.......can't say it would really be a horrible idea. Batista needs to go heel soon anyway.
-
Fucking Bradshaw brings out the bullrope whip, that was great. And then followed up with a horribly weak finish...wow, I figured someone would at least blade. I also figured Cena would lose. The finish really helps nobody, Cena doesnt need to win, the finish looked unconvincing unless you're 10 years old, too. So Cena v. HHH at Night of Champions I would assume.

Yeah, Kane/Show might suck, but maybe they'll do the extreme rules stip to it, as Show really came across super strong in this hardcore environment, probably the first ECW from WWE match that reminded me of the old ECW from way back when. It was really good for what it was. I totally ordered this show last minute on a whim and so far, I'm already feeling like I'm getting my money's worth a bit. The first two matches were great. Show vs Kane in the Extreme Rules match for the ECW title (not too long after Show first won the ECW belt in 2006) was AWESOME. If they could do another match thats even half as good as that one, I will be extremely happy. That was one of my favorite WWE matches of 2006. It really looked like Show was finding his niche in Extreme Rules matches before they started to take a toll on his body. Even Extreme Rules vs Ric Flair was better than it had any right to be. That's right, they did Show/Kane in the summer of 06 when ECW was taking off and they were having random SD/Raw main eventers v. Show. I was live at Flair v. Show for ECW and, yeah, fucking really good stuff there too. Seriously, the yellow canister just sitting there, WTF.
-
Whats with the yellow canister on the ring apron in the corner there?

Happy this lame first blood match gets early treatment on the card. First WWE ppv in a good while we'll be seeing blood two matches in a row. Show's accidental blood in the previous match just makes this one a little more "eh" than before. They better bleed a gusher to one up Show.
-
That's also why it reminded me so much of the old ECW, Dreamer's role was spot on regarding that.
-
He'll probably be done feuding with him after the ppv next Sunday. I'm expecting Kaz will get the X division title, so it will be justified that he's in this X Cup when that happens. Petey may need more time after the ppv to heal the orbital bone injury.

That powerbomb/suplex spot with Dreamer taking a kick to the head at the end was good stuff. Show's hardway blood is just making his comeback that much better. lol at the garbage can of about 20 canes in there.

Jesus, Show has a sick gash......this is nuts....
-
Oh shit, Show knocked himself hard on those steps. This match is also way better than I thought it was going to be. The Shawn Merriman spots were fun.
-
I thought that match was fantastic. Its been awhile since we've seen the falls count anywhere stip used in such a manner in a WWE match that they actually finish the match outside the arena. That was way better than I expected it to be. On a side note, the entrance stage for this ppv is fucking cool as hell.

Shit, that's right. So this Big K guy isnt Killer Kowalski after all, I thought that didn't look like him hardly at all. He is way heavier than KK and had a very raspy condescending voice that just didn't click. And I'm STILL convinced Shakey's Pizza restaurants actually paid this guy to be their spokesperson in the 80s. Not sure if Shakey's Pizza was just a MN/Midwest thing, but if so, then it would make even more sense, just a local guy getting in commercials (AWA wrestlers back in the day seemed to have a knack for it, I remember Nord the Barbarian, Greg Gagne, Road Warriors, etc, pimping out local companies in commercials too around here.) That or Godfather's Pizza. Stan Kowalski, he still is, though. Was one half of Murder, Inc (w/ some other guy I've never heard of named Tiny Mills) back in the 70s. Not sure if the two are related, though.

I read somewhere the active title for part four is just "Fast and Furious" - weird.

Not that CMLL is bad whatsoever in my eyes, but in all of the past X Cups, the lucha guys would be from AAA, and I'd love to see what kind of interesting team they could assemble with their current roster (the three hour Sat/Sun show on Galavision which I'm watching right now, is consistently one of the best wrestling shows around week to week) but we can thank Konnan for that not happening this time around. If I recall, old X Cups used to have ladder matches, even an Ultimate X, I think.

Anyone else here seen the second Narnia yet? I went to it today and, other than the four three year olds running around the theater with their parents sitting there most of the entire time like dolts, it was pretty solid. I never read anything past the Lion Witch and Wardrobe when I was younger, so didn't know what to expect here. Had much more of a Lord of the Rings medieval battle epic vibe than the first film, and much darker all around. Felt more PG-13 than what is was rated (PG)......as it goes, the fucking little rugrats I mentioned earlier were getting scared at times, crying, running out of the theater, etc, on and off the entire film. Probably my worst theater experience ever having to deal with that shit, although I still was able to enjoy the movie at the same time. Checking out The Strangers tomorrow....

I think it was a Best of IWA's Bloodiest Matches or something, but a really young upstart Mickie was in a match on that tape and it was easily one of the most brutal, stiff, and bloody women's match I've ever seen, I believe it was a glass taped fists match and it was just sick. So she can definately work a hardcore style, there is no doubt about it. On the flip side, this is probably a bad example, but I saw her in a recent WXW match and she looked like shit, keep in mind this was just a standard match, and it may have had more to do with her opponent. I've only seen her in those two matches so I can't really comment if she can work a truly solid match without gimmicks.

And it also didn't say anything about Thorn being intrigued, either.
