I think in an attempt to just create heel heat for her. Vince did this back, 98 I think, it was. On a total seperate note, the Hogan family is quickly turning into the most fucked up, self centered, and inhumane family in pop culture history. Linda is probably the most selfish of the bunch. Boo hoo for her - her son crashed a car that had another guy in there who is PARALYZED. And SHE'S the one who's suffering? Wow, I never knew people could be this dense. She's just thinking of the money she is going to lose because her son is how he is. No wonder these kids act the way they do, look at their parents. It makes you understand how Hogan has always been the political manueverist in his different companies he worked for as well, these phone conversations are showing that side of him quite a bit.

You guys understand that when you are talking about TNA's ratings going down, you're referencing generally a .1 to .2 percent drop that isn't even being consistent most weeks, right? I think its safe to say TNA gets, on average, about a million viewers a week, give or take a few hundred thousand less or more. Comparing ratings in different weeks regarding Impact is like comparing apples and oranges, for the most part. I don't think anything TNA is doing or not doing really has an effect on the overall rating that much.

Ahh ok, that makes sense. I remember reading about specific requirements the company was looking for, but never heard that it was in exact relation to Vince's height/size particularly.

Just started reading it today and not into the book too deep yet but the first little unknown tidbit of info in the book is that Vince actually instituted a policy in 04 sometime that nobody will be hired in the company if they arent as tall or weight the same as McMahon himself. Apparently it was short lived.

Oh one really interesting thing to note when I bought this today at Barnes and Noble. I couldn't find it near what I figured was going to be the wrestling titles in the sports section, but it is over in the "True Crime" section of the store. I never noticed that with any of the other books out about the murders until now.

I'm willing to give it a shot upon hearing there is stuff in here that really hasn't been reported in most media about the murders, so if there is new information, I see merit and purpose to have this out in stores. Plus tying in the "fall of the pro wrestling industry" (this is the tagline to the book) to it all makes this much more than "just another book" out there on the Benoit situation.

Yeah, the film is shot VERY "Indy-esque", meaning lots of homages to shots and perspectives from the other films, just the general feel of it as a whole seems to make it stand out as the unique franchise that it is.

I didnt even know about this book until today and upon hearing news about it in this thread, I went and got it at B & E. Just came in today, wasn't even on the shelves yet, how bout that. I will throw down thoughts on it as I go....

WWE will be eliminating the Heat TV show within the next few weeks and move ECW to taping on Monday night and airing on Tuesday. The idea is that it would drive the ratings more to have Raw stars as guests. At this point the plan is for Smackdown tapings to be a two hour show. ----Courtesy of Meltzer

The CGI is kept to a minimum for the most part, only used when deemed completely necessary. Most of the CGI I noticed came from backgrounds and stuff, well that and the ant scene is definately CGI, but it looks real good (I'm sure you can thank Lucas for that). With that said, its definately not an overpowering CGI heavy blockbuster, in fact probably will be the film this summer that has less CGI than any around.

Yeah, if that Tomko/Styles segment wouldnt have been booked on the show, the ending would have been a little less effective. Styles completely stood up for himself (finally!) and turned off the goofy passive character he's been doing, going more back to the old babyface AJ Styles who was still definately cocky, but more confident versus arrogant.

Damn, Styles is bleeding a gusher. Great turn on Styles from Angle there too. The storyline played out well throughout the show relating to Karen, Kurt, AJ, and Tomko. Karen called for help, out came Angle to apparently help Styles, and then KOs AJ. Builds some strong sympathy for both AJ and Karen. Strong ending to the show for sure.

Yeah there is a scene with CGI ants in the film.

The girls are definately out there, there is no doubt. Blonde chick (Rebecca? I cant remember her name) is just acting out at the other girls because she actually likes the blonde haired dude she's been sleeping with. Probably more than she cares to ever admit. Its a cliche case of girl, at first, doing the "I dont like you" act and think she can just fuck without emotional attachment, but she gets attached and then gets mad when the guy isn't feeling it the same way. So even though her behaviour is definately immature, its typical girl shit that I at least can understand why she's acting that way. If the blonde guy would have just stopped sleeping with her after the last back and forth hookup with her, then I don't think she would be still acting so possessive of him. She probably would have moved on, but she took the fact that the guy wanted to get back with her after he was taking steps back as a sign they are meant to be or some ridiculous shit like that. Honestly, I don't even get why the blonde haired guy would even bother trying to hook up with another chick anyway if you got her at the house already, she seems pretty hot by my book. If she would casually want me to take a shower with her after a night of drinking, I sure wouldn't mind. The stripper chick is a ball full of hypocrisy though. She has no right to get in the middle of shit with this person hooking up with that person just because another girl "gives her attitude" which seemed conceieved in her own mind that it was even happening like that. She obviously doesn't get that she didn't like it when other roomates gave her attitude about her hooking up with the guy she's with, so she shouldn't go ahead and do the same thing she hates people do to her. Typical Real World symantics here though, she's clearly got some perspective issues beyond just trying to talk shit to other random "skanks", she seems to want to be involved in destructive and intense relationships and situations. As far as Sarah goes, what I can see there more than anything is just that she's your normal case of a girl with religious values who, ironically, ends up being the most judgmental of the group in most cases, although she at least observes her faults after she goes there. She seems to be rather vengeful (as do all of the chicks here AND Greg) and getting on her bad side turns her into a real piece of work.

I am too, and am hoping they still go back to Booker v. Sting down the road here. Maybe at Victory Road in Houston perhaps....

Good point, I keep forgetting that Angle may possibly be out of action for more than just a few weeks here. They could do Tomko/Styles BEFORE Angle/Styles. I like this Kong angle alot.
