Have you even watched all of them? How can you say they are rehashes? Sure, they bring the gore, which honestly, considering they have the peak weekend of the year to do so, isn't really something that anyone should be up in arms about. It's horror - it's around Halloween - OF COURSE its going to be gorey. But let's not be naive, these movies aren't THAT mindless - as I said, there is mythology and backstory into each one of the films, based FROM the first one. And it appears we will be seeing alot of the same with part IV. My point is that beyond the blood, these films have a lot better overall story than it commonplace with most mainstream horror. I'm not saying thats the sole reason as the sequels progess, that is why more people check them out, but I think the overall package is what brings people in. If it is just gore and gore alone that brings people out en masse, Hostel 2 would have done much better, for example.

They could use Ashley in the role instead of Kristal, citing Long "sending Ashley to suffer on Survivor" as some sort of excuse to set up the heart attack scenario. I honestly think they should leave Vicki out of any role other than a neutral babyface desicion maker, and when/if Long returns, just his assistant. Then again, I think Teddy Long would be better fit at this stage in going back to managing. So Vicki could just stay as GM.

Is ECW about to end as we know it? (ECW renewed)
RedJed replied to Jaxxson Mayhem's topic in The WWE Folder
To be honest, I am shocked that the company hasnt stopped using the ECW brand name, and going with "Tuesday Night Extreme" or something instead, out of thinking people arent watching just because its "that old ECW that nobody watched in the first place" or some other illogical reasoning such as that. And bringing SD guys as cameos on this show isnt going to help much either. It really isnt rocket science here - ECW should have always been under a unique direction of having all of the matches be moreless anything goes, like it used to be. That would have AT LEAST made the brand unique in its own way, and would have likely helped the bottom line of grabbing and keeping viewers tuned in on an off night. There still would have been issues with star depth, but if the product itself was so different than the other two shows, that would have peaked the interest of AT LEAST the old core fanbase, which I would assume would be a good million or so viewers in the least. Then add your already loyal WWE fanbase and under that direction, generating 2.XX per week shouldn't have ever been a problem if they would have used some common sense into what they were trying here. -
I wonder how long they read the script before they gave it their seal of approval? +/- on the time? I say 15 minutes. Like last years revelation that there would be a 4 and 5, now I read that 6 is also planned. I really hope everyone sees how stupid this is and avoid Saw 4 so they might rething doing 2 (and more inevitably) more movies...its just stupid at this point. Hey, so far so good by my book. All three Saws have a solid story that intertwines into each one. If they were just stand-alone BS sequals that offer little to no backstory on the mythology behind Jigsaw and others, I would totally agree. I would think Wan and Whannell read through the entire script, this is their franchise, they are still going to be making money from it themselves, and seem very complacent on the storyline behind all of this. The writers for the next three Saws I have faith in as well, they wrote Feast, which is one of my favorite horror flicks in years.

From the Jericho interview on WOL tonight, he let it out that he's going to NYC tomorrow for promotional stuff relating to his book, so chances are we won't see him on Raw tomorrow night.

Anything so far of note in the interview? I just logged on....

From Observer site - I dont get how they have these up this quickly, but it sounds like legit. Chris Sabin NC Alex Shelley when Team 3-D interfered Awesome Kong b Talia Madison Robert Roode & James Storm b Chris Harris & Rhino - Harris & Rhino had a post-match staredown Kaz b Lance Hoyt Abyss b Glen Gilberti - Black Reign and Jim Mitchell attacked Abyss and Reign put the rat on him. Nobody cared Christian Cage b Samoa Joe to get into the title tournament (assumed spot to fill from the Sabin/Shelley NC) when Styles, Tomko and Roode all interfered, and Roode clocked Joe with a chair. What's the point of having Joe end Christian's win streak if you're only going to reverse it and make it meaningless Sting v. Angle rematch announced for the taping tomorrow ----------- Assuming these are legit, a few random thoughts.... I can see why they put Christian over Joe (to put heat back on Christian) but this kind of parity booking doesn't really help anyone. Christian could have got a rub via other means, and Joe gets put back down a pedestal. Gilberti being brought back is rather odd to say the least. They are parlaying Black Reign v. Abyss until Mesias returns, apparently. Roode v. Joe appears to be a match they may work for the next ppv, which sounds horribly underwhelming on paper.
-
Show was ok for the most part last night, seemed to be paced alright. I liked the rollcall of champions thing, it makes the belt mean something a bit more than just props. Roode running in on Joe makes ZERO sense unless he's all of a sudden a member of the Christian Coalition. And does Joe/Roode sound like a lame-ass match on paper. Maybe that will just be done at the next Impact tapings instead of ppv. Agreed that Fatu needs to go - unfortunately TNA is seriously considering bringing in 2 Cool now. UGH....
-
Also keep in mind the out of the blue NWO reference from Angle tonight as well.
-
They have heel heat because everyone is sick of them. They're the only heels that can generate that heat because the crowd is smarky. They're not going to boo Christian, or Styles and Tomko. I'm not saying they're bad in the ring (even though they are), but what they've been doing over the last few weeks is going to get anyone heel heat. And not in a good way. If someone has "XPac type heat" what usually happens is there just isnt that much of a response for them (lets use Chris Masters as an example). You're wrong about it - they are getting legit heat.
-
Ok - following up on the ridiculous tag match for the world title at the next ppv.... If this is in fact a Nash suggestion to do this match in the booking, I wouldnt be shocked whatsoever to have the mystery man be Scott Hall. He's been rumored to have been pushing for Hall to return to the company, and if Jarrett is still running the show for the most part, he'll probably take him back. Further proof this could be the case is found in a text from TNA Mobile talking about the Outsiders returning for indy shows recently, which really makes no sense for TNA to even mention it if there isnt a point there.
-
Man, if they could get Wagner and Aguayo Jr. into TNA full time, that would kick all kinds of ass. But regardless of that, signing them up for their next Mexico show should guarantee a significant gate for them at least.
-
I will be shocked if Joe is the mystery partner. My impression on Joe is that if they do ever give him the belt (which is a big if) they are going to burn it for a good long while - it just seems so two steps forward, five steps back in his push. I don't get how throwing him in feud with Robert Roode (who can't even get the best of Eric Young these days) makes any sense whatsoever.

I couldnt get into the show tonight that much, but it turned out better than the spoilers read. Some main things I got out of the show.... Why is Miz one of the guys in the Cyber Sunday voting for the ECW title match? I would have much preferred giving Dreamer another chance there for the title since the storyline that was played out last month should have theoretically givin him some sort of rub. Miz v. Balls for Kelly's contract at the ppv w/ either the choices being each Expose chick (I know, that would produce the most predictable winner there) or some "choose the weapon" selection would have worked. Also, got some feeling that Morrison as a face might work. His heel work on the mic still comes off so forced and rehearsed that a face turn would probably make that improve. Plus his unique flashy moves are fit more towards a face, much like, say, an AJ Styles. I'd be all for a Miz/Morrison feud, too.

I seriously bet Nash proposed this "world title on the line in a tag match" idea to Russo, Angle, Jarrett or whoever the fuck is in power in TNA right now. As has already been mentioned, back in 95 when Nash and Michaels had political stroke, we got world/ic champ v. tag titles match, and then when he was booking WCW god awful in 99, this exact same idea happened w/ Nash/Sting v. Sid/Savage. Give me a fucking break, they are using a Kevin Nash booking idea?!! With that said, we get mystery man pinning Nash to win the title, and Angle/Nash apparently builds heat or something. And Sting probably just fades out to job to Joe or Christian in December in a number one contenders match or something. The fucking confusing issue here is the fact that the setup is for Christian to win the tournament for a title shot, which would theoretically come around this ppv. They just should have left the belt on Sting, went with Christian/Sting for the belt next ppv, had Sting go over, and lead to Sting/Joe next. The simplest ideas make the most sense.

So Transformers is out on DVD - how many different box set and special versions are out in stores? I know Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City and I think Target all have special different promotions for this one, just don't know what exactly. Plus, have they announced any future releases of the film on DVD? I'm debating on holding off on a special ubrt-deluxe version with DTS sound if possible.
-
Fuckin TNA - the shit with Angle/Sting is awful. Why couldnt they have just did Sting/Christian and Angle/Nash and left it alone with the rest of this shit? Typical TNA bait and switch swerve bullshit with Nash mad at Angle, then helps him win back the title, and they are friends. So they are having the world title on the line in a tag match?!! Why not just make it a four way? Seriously, I can't think of a more clusterfuck scenario out of that rematch than what they did. I'll take a swing and say either Jarrett, Booker T, or D-Lo Brown will be the mystery person. ARGGGG
-
The idea for the Jan 4 show is apparently, according to this week's WON, to have all NJPW and TNA titles on the line. What that might mean is that it will be TNA guys v. TNA guys and vice versa, but who knows. The Nov 11 show sounds interesting with interpromotional matches scheduled.
-
I think Candido was still technically "with her" when she was having her fun with Shawn too. Poor guy, in hindsight. If anyone needs proof Tammy and Michaels were definately having some fun together, watch the One Night Only ppv from England from 97 - there was an interview she did backstage with Michaels in which he was basically feeling her up during it.
-
Hard to say if Booker could use his name somewhere else, but considering he had used it long before WWE, it may be possible. I'm all for Booker in TNA for sure.
-
This sounds like the most uncreative and thrown together ECW show in a long time. I'm all for a SD/ECW merger, but this is not a good start. Can we say booking on the fly to the EXTREME here?!! How sad is it that I will be watching the show primarily to see a Kelly-Balls date.
-
That Jarrett book is great, it was journal entries accounting how TNA got off the ground too, I think starting back in 01 and then finishing off end of 02 or so. I remember Highspots selling it way back when for cheap ($20) with Jarrett's autograph in it, had to pick that up. Russo's book is mostly religious fodder than anything. His shoot w/ Wade Keller is interesting though.

Damn, even getting baked out of my skull didnt make that show entertaining tonight. Just overall horrible shit. I was expecting the exact opposite out of the show given the 2.8 last week. This was about as boring of a show and borderline annoying in most parts at the blandness of it. Each of those Orton matches were not even entertaining whatsoever. The rest of the matches were pretty much one sided squashes. The Umaga shit was just killing me in how drawn out it got. And what can you say about the Hornswaggle shit other than that they are totally trying to cater to kids on a late night Monday with a homage to freaking cartoons. If the rating doesn't drop, I will be shocked. The ending of the show was just a rehash of last week, basically. Nothing overall productive here at all. No question this was one of the worst Raw's I've seen in a long time. And whats with Lawler and the whole Jericho thing? 2.29 makes me think they have now decided to hold off Jericho appearing until 10/29, the day after the ppv. Who knows.

Rematch of BFG main event planned for Impact
RedJed replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in TNA Wrestling
I'm more thinking the rematch will lead to Nash turning on Angle, and Sting wins again. As its been said, going back to Joe/Angle again is horribly repetitive for the title and its not a draw anymore for upcoming ppvs. They got one last real big match out of Sting and that is definately Joe v. Sting. -
Unfortunately, given the roster's credible Raw heels, which are few and far between, I'm betting he's brought back as a heel.
