This motherfucking reporter on MSNBC is acting like they just scheduled a three hour tribute show out of the blue for Benoit when they already had a three hour window scheduled beforehand, for one thing. Get YOUR facts straight, fucker. There was not reports of Chris murdering them up until around an hour or so before the show was over. According to the timeline, I dont blame WWE at all for doing this tribute show. They are acting like it was a huge and ridiculous celebration for Benoit last night, when it was just about as low key as possible given the situation. I will give them one thing though, they probably should have stopped the west coast replay, though. Irv Muschnick got this reporters intensity together a few notches on things, but he's still going all over the place with his O'Reilly-esque nonsense. This show is making me fucking ill. Enough of this steroid shit. He's blaming the company for being naive to think Benoit DIDNT kill them immediately after hearing they were all dead. What the fuck ever.

On a positive note, Bret is looking really well and healthy himself - and he's already off the show. That was quick. It's sad because I think Bret has gone through so many deaths of his "wrestling family" that he's almost numb to it all. There is an interesting train of thought on this MSNBC show that Benoit may have been this way because he WASNT on roids - perhaps weening or going completely cold turkey off thembecause of an upcoming drug test? That's completely speculative on my part. They had Dr. Drew (from that old LoveLine show) on there saying people who have a dependancy on roids coming OFF of them are far more dangerous than those who were on them when acts of violence occur. Basically, just like any dangerous drug like meth or whatnot, it's apparently quite a hell of a comedown if they are going off them for a long period of time after taking them for a long period of time. Boy, this guy on MSNBC is a piece of work. He's getting on WWE for the tribute show last night.

Hawk52, WTF man - you're saying WWE should have seen this coming and done something about it? The guy, by all accounts, was VERY private and wouldnt have even allowed himself to show that personal life side of him professionally. You know, people, when they are fucked up, can hide it, and in most cases, hide it well for a long time. I'm FAR from a WWE fan-boy, but I truly believe the company should not be held in ANY responsibility towards this situation - either in that case you accused the company of, nor the issues of steroids playing a part here. As they said in their press release, nothing from the details suggests he did this in a fit of "roid rage" - this was at least somewhat premeditated anyway you slice it (via placing bibles near the victims, tying Nancy up, etc). While he might have very well been on roids at the time or shortly before the murders occured, I just can't buy the "he did it because of steroids" theory. This is clearly much more complex than that. Part of me wonders if Benoit got into meth the past few months or something, judging by the stories of ultimate paranoia of being followed around, etc. And it makes me sick that some of you are using wrestling moves references regarding Nancy's death. You should be ashamed to downplay this situation in such a way. Its the farthest thing from something to joke about.

True, but there is some good literature out there linking roids and major depression, which could lead one to do something psychotic. This is beyond just "something psychotic" if you ask me. This shit is absolutely, positively, TWISTED TO THE MAX. The news about Benoit supplimenting his own son with growth hormone leads me to believe he's way way WAY out there and has been for some time in actuality.

Cancel the taping, have Cole/JBL, Tazz/Styles simply say "In light of the Chris Benoit murder investigation, WWE and all of it's talent have decided it wasn't in their best interest at heart to peform" and just show clip show "best of ecw/smackdown". You can't go on the air right now and resume the show as nothing happened nor can you pay tribute... that might be the best way to do it, although i think in the grand scheme of things i dont think WWE would wanna cancel 2 shows in a row and lose some money, i'm not tryin to stir up trouble just saying If they did in fact tell everyone to "go home" completely, the assumption would be that tomorrow is off as well as the Smackdown/ECW guys would have been at Raw tonight. I really dont know what the best answer/solution is for WWE dealing with this. If some really fucked up shit comes out tomorrow basically just confirming Chris killed them both, it actually MIGHT be best to try to move on from this whole situation as soon as possible for PR reasons, as it could get VERY sticky for them if they harbor on this situation on the TV shows, giving the media the impression they are trying to trumpet up interest to their website, etc, etc, for more details on the murders, moreless giving the impression they are exploiting the sleaze behind the murders. I can already see fucking Phil Muschnick blame this as soon as he can on steroid/drug usage in pro wrestling causing Benoit to snap. Likewise, I dont know how the workers are going to handle things from this perspective of the situation as it is now, as its still very much a tragic and horrible incident, but obviously "paying tribute" to him would be much less intense, anyway you slice it. But paying tribute to not him particularly, but the families and friends of Chris and Nancy more would be aprapo (sp?). I wouldnt be shocked at all to hear some extremely twisted news behind this tomorrow morning, and the decision made "for the show to go on immediately" by the company shortly thereafter, possibly even taking most anything related to the Benoit death off the site. With that said, I would still have no idea how to treat ECW/Smackdown this week, perhaps still doing tribute shows, one for Nancy on ECW, and Smackdown becomes a tribute to the Benoit's family as well as Nancy's?

I was only half paying attention, but the William Regal testimonial seemed a bit ... off. I think I've read in the past that he lives in Atlanta as well. Good point about Regal's words. He seemed to be holding back his feelings on Benoit for whatever reason. He may have known more than most at the time. For all we know as well, these testimonials could have been done damn near live as they aired potentially, also.

Was Benoit very tight with the recently deceased Biff Wellington? I'm just trying to figure out ANYTHING that would even come close to suggesting Benoit going off his rocker at all. And I didnt recall any real issues Benoit had with the way he was treated by the company either lately, so we cannot really put anything down in that regard. Not that any excuse would condone such actions at all, but just trying to connect even the slightest dot here.

To try to get back to some sort of seriousness again in this thread, I can't even fathom to imagine how guys like Chavo, Malenko, etc, must be feeling right now, not just to lose a dear friend, but now hearing the circumstances and information leaked behind the deaths - just how their best friend apparently killed his own wife and son. And imagine how Benoit's other kids are feeling right now?!! Shit like that is why I can't get over how some of you are taking this as something to fucking joke about. This is all really fucked up.....from the details behind the deaths to the way its treated here. Its a tragedy all the same, REGARDLESS of the way it occured.

I'd fully expect Meltz to post something newsworthy in the next few hours on all this - if people within WWE were given further details on things by the investigators, that same info will be passed to Dave in some way, shape, or form soon.

Saw this yesterday and it literally gave me a very uneasy "what the fuck next" feeling as the film kept progressing, to the point Definate unique directorial style, giving off the most clostrophobic effect I've seen in a film in a very long time (fuck Descent....this film was much better in that aspect than that one).....definately highly suggested to check out.
