  1. I'm just dying to see a breakdown of the ratings for this show, particularly if they can track how many people that were watching Raw ended up actually turning to the basketball game during the show, or I suppose vice versa.

This has been kind of a tough two hours to sit through, to be honest.

  2. Oh and the hilarity just ensues with Goldust, Hornswaggle, a shitty looking version of Jack Nicholson, and the Bella Twins, who are apparently easily confused.

Who's bright fuckin idea was it to have a fake Jack Nicholson on the show? It's one thing to have a fake Kroenke, but why everyone else? I think only 1% of even the fans live in the arena knew that was Jerry Busse by the way. And that the other guy was David Stern.

They are taking retarded to a whole new level tonight, I can see. I'm wouldn't be surprised to hear Vince probably wrote this whole show HIMSELF.

  3. The photochopped jerseys on the screen for the main event are mega LOL.

Haha yeah, there actually is some great unintentional humor on this show. Speaking of which...

Wow that was just all around strange and actually unintentionally hilarious, seeing Kelly and Maryse actually trying to brawl. So I guess we get some hardcore grudge match with them at the ppv or what?

  4. The fuck... so if Foley doesn't get pinned the TNA World Title doesn't change hands?

Nope, that's what's so stupid about it. That's why Foley wasn't giving a shit when the other three were fighting in the ring and they were doing commentary.

Jarrett being so close to pinning Sting made little sense since why in the hell would he want to retire him? I'd understand Foley doing a move like that, but given the fact that they pulled a swervy booking move (which is a weak ass idea by the way, because I think most people expected a title change to whoever got the pin) by only the title going to whoever could pin Foley, then shouldn't all three of them basically just want to go after him instead of each other? Wow, what a stupid bait and switch deal there by TNA. Very stupid, but I guess it accomplishes the inevitable Sting/Angle blowoff. I would expect the Mafia to break apart, probably Angle/Steiner/Booker and Sting/Nash or something like that. Yawn.

The deal in the main event annoyed me to no end, because they didn't emphasize this as being the case with Foley needing to be pinned to lose his title up until the actual match, thus feeling a bit baited and switched in that it wasn't even really a true world title match. It was like a conditional title match. A few other matches had some controversial booking to say the least. That finish in the I Quit match was just ridiculous. And the state of things in Nash/Joe gives flashbacks of so many times in the past we've seen guys like Hogan and Nash "do the job" and "put a guy over" but in reality, its the farthest thing from it. It's more a joke than anything. What Joe/Nash was, to me, appeared to be was a double turn by the end of the match.

The match itself had some good five minutes or so, but otherwise wasn't much to talk about. Overall, bad showing here, the booking really killed shit out of the gate.

Overall, definately didn't live up to the potential of the matches on paper. Bit of a letdown for sure.

Oh and for next month, guess it's a seven man KOTM match since it's Slammiversary Seven. So I would guess these four, Joe, Styles, and either Booker, Steiner, or Nash? I'm betting Booker v. Nash at the next ppv, which leaves Steiner as the guy to take the seventh spot in all likelihood.

  5. What a retarded finish in Styles/Booker. Had a hard time getting into that match as a whole too. Guess it could have been worse, but could have been alot better too. That finish just wasn't worth the payoff of having to sit through it.

So it looks like they will probably end up going with Booker/Nash soon, since they sure acted like Nash needs to be turned babyface or something in how they booked him against Joe. And I guess that ridiculous Jenna run-in to throw in the towel (which makes no sense) is going to be the start of it? Wow, how lame.

There has been a few bright spots in the ring on this show, but I think more misses than hits. Joe/Nash, Booker/Styles, and the women's matches have been pretty weak. The Suicide/Daniels match seemed like a bit of a dissapointment. But the opener and the tag tournament match was good.

Needless to say, this main event could go either way, depending on the finish of the match especially.

  6. Daniels/Suicide was a bit sloppy, and a few major spots seemed to completely fall apart. Kind of a very strange way to book Suicide retaining, though. Don West was GREAT doing his heel routine in this match, by the way, as well as the Angelina Love/Kong match, which was very short and nothing much to write home about at all. Figured they would keep that program going. This seemed a ton less forced/scripted lines by him and more of him inprovising heel commentary, and it seemed to work alot better.

Surprised the Nash/Joe match was a pretty straight forward match, albeit the roles seemed reversed than they should have been. Nash was totally playing the babyface who was hanging on and hanging on and finally had to tap, and then got beatdown on top of it. I then thought I was going to be seeing the miraculous rising up of the young babyface, gaining respect for "toughin it out" and the crowd would give him a standing ovation. Maybe they did for all we know. And wow, Joe is just not getting over at all right now, but then again its no wonder when you have Joe play the heel in the match. And even though now Nash can say he "put over" Joe by blading, getting his ass kicked two times over, and tapping out clean, looks are deceiving. Or was I the only one interepreting this as such because it sure seemed like that was what was going on. The reaction to Joe after the match was really bad and they cut away to the back before we got to see if Nash got the big babyface reaction from the crowd. That Nash, I tell ya.

Tag tournament match was pretty good, holy shit Beer Money is OVAAAR. The combo top rope rana/splash was great. Like the idea of them doing another Dudleys match where they would get the belts back, and then the Dudleys turn on them afterwards.

  7. Did that even go 2:00? A short match between the two probably was for the best. Felt like an Impact match though, as well as the angle after the match. Poor Stevie.

I guess the three names Borash hinted at being on Impact this Thursday is

Victoria, Raven, and Shane Douglas. Very interested to see if Douglas is actually planning to work matches or something else.

  8. Overall a pretty good show all around. Felt like a significant memorable event for sure.

Sean Sherk needs to be cut, I will say that much. Looked horrible in there.

Great quick KO by McFedries, he needs better competition to see if he has anything or if he's a stepping stone.

Hughes-Serra was great to me and I really was pulling for Serra and thought he was going to pull off a KO with just seconds left somehow, but it never happened. But it seemed like he was trying to legitimately wait til the end of the fight to get some final big shot in. That was a close third round to me, but Hughes still took it, hell of a reversal by Serra though near the end there. Pretty strong fight, now looking back, Serra was a little too cocky for his own good here though. He never converted enough for it to mean anything although he was damn close. Interesting story was felt in the bout as well with a semblance of respect earned from both.

The main event, when all was said and done, did seem like a true main event to me, though as I couldn't believe Evans got KTFOd like that but it came off like a huge/significant moment all the same as Machida's starpower had to go up a ton by the end of it. Machida was just relentless there. Otherwise, the match itself was a bit of a chess match of sorts that first round, each guy feeling the other out so much that it was getting a bit ridiculous. But it picked up and then went on overdrive for the last ten seconds.

  9. Victoria will be debuting imminently using the name Lisa Marie Varon.

This is according to the Observer site. Should be a very good move to say the least, for the Knockouts division. They desperately need some new blood in there to kind of spark some life into the women's division so much. Kong v. the former Victoria could be very awesome.

  10. For anyone watching the preshow....am I the only one not getting any audio?

Working fine for me here on Directv.

I really wish they would fire Lauren or else stop her from actually playing a character in TNA instead of just being just an interviewer.

  11. Ah, my mistake. I have been watching iMPACT! for a while now and I can't remember the last time I saw him.

I might go a whole week without reading the results, which will be interesting. We don't get the PPV until Wednesday night here in England and we don't get iMPACT! until Saturday night. Might be a little tempting to read the results.

So you get the pay per views for free over then because of the delay, I assume?

  12. Rhyno and Raven were my two thoughts.

Rhino is still on the active roster though, they are having him "train" that marine guy. And he still occasionally shows up to work a match here and there. And he gored Danny Bonaduce for no reason whatsoever at the last ppv.

  13. TNA Mobile issued the following text:

"Two former TNA superstars who have been TNA world champions in the past, are set to make a return to the Impact Zone this Thursday."

Hmmm, I have no idea who that could be, although keep in mind "TNA world champions" doesn't necessarily mean THE world champ. Could be former X division champs or tag champs too.

I'd love it if one of the returning champs was Raven, and the other Ken Shamrock but that's a longshot.

  14. See ya later Truthy, nobody deserves to be insulted here, moderators or not.

My best advice for those who are still posting here is try to stick to discussion, try to make discussion, and not make it personal like a few seem to have. Personal attacks only go in one spot and thats NHB. It just further hurts the status of this board to have these things spill onto other parts of the forum.

  15. I can't remember the circumstances, but I remember Rhyno winning the title when more than one other person was the logical or favourite choice.

Ahhh, Rhyno, forgot about him. He was never penciled in to win the title in the first place, but fell into it by one of those times where Nash mysteriously got injured right before his big title match with Jarrett at the first Bound for Glory event. To send the fans home happy with a big moment, they had Rhino win Monster's Ball, a Gauntlet match, and then beat Jarrett as well to win the title. Jarrett won the title back within just a few weeks time, if I recall correctly.

  16. I'm a long time TNA fan and I'll defend them plenty but they've never known when to pull the trigger on a big win, turn, moment, or whatever. Their timing has always sucked.

Yeah, looking back, the whole Raven deal was just the start of it.

The trend seemed to continue with Truth, who got the title way far too soon at first-although it was still a fresh idea to come from the very early days of the company, and then the second time around, got the title out of nowhere when nobody expected it, and then lost it back to Jarrett not more than a few weeks later.

Then of course you had Monty Brown, who they really dropped the ball on and never even ended up giving him the belt at all after many legitimately strong teases of such.

Jeff Hardy also probably should have been given a run when he first showed up in the company, but the Jarrett effect once again arrived strong.

Styles world title runs have been hit or miss.

Let's just not even go there with Joe, we all know the answer there too.

Anyway doing the first X division title match ever and then following that with easily the best X Division (and TNA) match ever, now that's a strong highlight show.

  17. RedJed just doesnt get it.

    He still doesnt get it.

Agreed... poor guy has the logic of a 3 year old with down syndrome.

I'm goin to just say this one time.......anymore insults and you're gone. This board is suffering enough and the farthest it needs is insults just because of a difference of opinion.

There is like five people that post here anymore. Banning him would be banning 20% of the active membership.

Ever think that maybe nobody bothers posting anymore is because of people like him? Moreless that attitude I mean. Same rules will apply no matter how many people post here anymore. He wouldn't be able to get away with it then and he won't now.
