One place I like for all-you-can-eat Japanese is Tanpopo. There's one in the west end on Denman, and they have an outstanding selection of choices for a pretty good price.

Same here, Izzy's is great for a big, inexpensive meal. Considering that they arn't doing the principal service associated with serving, namely serving the food, I don't think buffets warrant more than a nominal tip at the most. Taking away dishes is barely even a service to the customer, it's a service to the restaurant (so they don't run out of plates, the table is clear so they can seat more customers, etc.); it's got to happen regardless. Filling up a free glass of water or a bottomless soda that cost two bucks is maybe worth a few cents.

I'm starting to feel like the overreaction to dogfighting is getting a bit much. I'm not talking about the Vick suspension and plea deal, he's getting what he has coming to him for financing an illegal interstate business. But I've been hearing shit like "Goodell needs to suspend Clinton Portis, the NFL can't allow players to make statements that appear to support dogfighting". And unrelated to football, but a recent news story appeared about how a bunch of pit bulls were removed from one of DMX's residences (where apparently he doesn't live) for malnutrition and neglect (apparently he had paid someone to take care of them and they obviously didn't do the job). So what's all over the internet? "DMX Busted for Dogfighting" and so on, despite the fact that the actual news stories specifically state there was no evidence of dogfighting. Now I'm not going to suggest that DMX isn't a dogfighting fan (his videos and last album cover make it pretty clear where he stands), but he's getting borderline libelled right now, all because dogfighting is getting its 15 minutes with the public, until the next cause of outrage appears and relegates it back to dirt roads in the south.

Huh??? Is this guy unaware that in the NHL, any player who leaves the bench or penalty box to come on the ice and get involved in an altercation gets hit with an automatic 10 game suspension?

I'll echo the sentiment for The Matrix Reloaded, Vanilla Sky, and Necessary Roughness. Here are a few more: Swordfish: This movie is loads of fun and just oozes with style, and features a great cast, cool storyline, and Halle Berry looking hotter than ever. The Ninth Gate: A relatively unknown Johnny Deep/Roman Polanski thriller that I've always been a big fan of, but gets little acclaim.

I marked out big for James Heller because he's one of my all-time favorite supporting characters. He was so badass in Season 4, trying to break out and then fighting right along side Jack when he busted in to rescue them. But man oh man, that line at the end to Jack was fucking harsh.
