I will almost certainly be at Autzen Stadium to hopefully see the Ducks roll over Stanford and start what I hope will be a successful season. I'll provide a live report after the game if there's anything noteworthy to comment on.

I eagerly anticipate the first time someone refers to someone on the black team as "boy". It's really too bad there's no arab team, because then I'd tune in just to see who calls who a terrorist first.

It will be interesting to see how the tribes merge. One thing that is going to get really annoying as that after they've merged into 2 and then 1, when old tribal alliances come up people will be screaming "OMG RACIST~!" when it's the same shit that happens every time no matter how the tribes are broken up.

Umm...well, nothing. He did his job on a screen pass picking up about seven yards. He got a 8 yard run because a tackler missed, he didn't make the tackler miss so much as Newman just doesn't know how to tackle. Exactly. I love Terrance Newman as a shutdown cover corner but his tackling skills in the backfield are probably the weakest part of his game. They made it sound like Bush got around Ray Lewis in his prime or something.

Even worse is the way they cover Bush as compared to Mario Williams, especially on Sportscenter. They recite off Williams' stats line to make it sound like he didn't do anything without talking at all about his impact on the game. Meanwhile tonight, Sean Salisbury inserts Bush's cock into his mouth and proceeds to suck away by showing the same highlight from tonight's game over and over again while totally glossing over Bush's crappy numbers and inconsistent game.

Kornheiser is a lot better at this than I expected, he's been a nice surprise.

The announcers are fellating Reggie Bush non-stop despite the fact he has two decent plays and 3 where he was either stopped for a loss or very little gain.

Things I am already sick of hearing about this season while watching ESPN: 1. fantasy football 2. the impression that the New Orleans Saints players are rebuilding the city with their bare hands

But I thought Mike Williams was the next Randy Moss? That was said so many times during his final college season and when he was drafted. Who the fuck said he was the next Randy Moss? Because he's nothing like Randy Moss. I seem to recall hearing something like that from Kiper. Maybe it was someone else though.

I liked "Center Stage" but that was it.

This looks like perfectly acceptable crap action. Replace Cena with Jason Statham and that could have pretty much been the trailer for Transporter 3.

Yeah I imagine OU moved up to near the top of the list for a lot of the freshman QB prospects, since it's possible they will get to start right away.

Chris Paul had a great year. Should have been an all-star. 16, 8, and 5 and over 2 steals a game (led the league in total steals), for a 6'0 rookie PG isn't just a "good" year. There were plenty of guys who had better seasons than Chris Paul did in the NBA. There were at most 4 guys who had better seasons than Alexander Ovechkin in the NHL: Jaromir Jagr, Joe Thornton, Mikka Kiprusoff, and Nicklas Lidstrom.

Chris Paul is "breakout athlete of the year", after having a good but not spectacular rookie season, ahead of Alexander Ovechkin who finished in the top 3 in the NHL in both goals and points during his rookie year and scored some of the most spectacular goals you will ever see. All righty then...

Anyone else pick this one up? I'm assuming some of the other Radiohead fans on the board have tried it out at least. It's reasonably good although nothing super-special. I'd say I like it about as much as HTTT. The sound is something like Amnesiac without all the brass sections, to compare it to any other Radiohead release. Yorke's voice is less produced and distorted compared to Radiohead albums, while the background beats are more electronic and less instrument-based than Radiohead's. Worth a listen and maybe a purchase if you are a Radiohead fan, I'd say.

If you drop the 0 and the 9 from Wish You Were Here's ranking, you might have a more accurate list. What a disgraceful ranking that is.

Meddle has always been one of my personal favorites, but Wish You Were Here and Dark Side of the Moon are both stronger albums from top to bottom. And you are correct that Seamus and San Tropez drag Meddle down a little bit, but it's the other 4 songs that make up the meat of the album. And in particular, Echoes and Fearless are both classic stuff. Echoes isn't as consistently good as Shine On You Crazy Diamond (when treated as a single 25 minute song) but some of the sections are just brilliant and the vision it must have taken to create such a song is awe inspiring.

Roger killing Rafa in straights would be the best result ever at this point.

Leena must be pleased with some of today's results (Niki going out, Murray getting swept, etc.).

I wonder if Federer can win the tournament without dropping a set.

David Nalbandian and James Blake both lost which pretty much gives Federer a bunch of practice games against jobbers before the finals, other than maybe a somewhat interesting matchup with Ancic. He will probably end up playing Roddick or Hewitt in the finals.

Bad pick by the Knicks. What they really needed was a combo guard who likes to hold on to the ball and take all the big shots...

This is one of the reasons I think the argument I've heard since the French finals - that Nadal might be better than Federer because his record against Federer is so good - is a bunch of BS. The reason Nadal consistently beats Federer when they play is because they almost only play on clay. On the other surfaces Federer makes the final and Nadal gets bounced and so they have no chance to meet up. I don't see how people could seriously claim Nadal is better than Federer if Nadal is winning the French Open every year beating Roger in the final, while Fed wins two or all three of the other majors and Rafa is getting knocked out by the quarters.
