Bledsoe looks a bit off today. Thankfully the Giants defense is producing the yards for him.
-
This FSU victory is obviously good karma relating to those facebook pictures of the slutty FSU fans getting out over the internet.
-
This FSU-Virginia Tech game seems like it's going to be pretty competitive.
-
I'm looking forward to the game to determine an undefeated, undisputed champion. I'd favour USC here because I don't think either defense can really stop the other teams offense, so they will have to rely on turnovers to build a lead. I feel that USC's defense is better set up to create turnovers against Texas than the other way around.

Philly-NY Giants in football, Philly-Boston in basketball. Probably because it gets so cold up here in the Northeast in the winter and we have nothing to do but drink and yell at the TV. Yeah I'm not a big basketball guy, so I wouldn't be really in tune with the Sixers-Celtics rivalry.
-
I guess I just don't see the big city rivalry there, at least when it comes to sports. Boston-New York for sure. Maybe it's due to being more of a hockey fan and the big Philly rivalries are with Pittsburgh and New York. Also, I'm the master of having a hodgepodge assortment of cities with teams that I like: Detroit (hockey), Atlanta (baseball), Dallas (football), and I don't really have a favorite NBA team, although I sort of liked the Lakers just because most people hated them and hated Kobe in particular. Then for college ball I like Michigan and Oregon. So no real rhyme or reason to it.

Can we please not rehash this argument again? Also, I don't see it as a big deal to support a team from Boston and a team from Philly. They don't even play in the same conference/league in either the NFL or MLB.

Al Sharpton Wants To Be A Sitcom Star
Hogan Made Wrestling replied to haVoc's topic in Television & Film
Sharpton was pretty good in his guest appearance on Boston Legal. I'd probably give this a chance. -
ABC's crew predicted ND-Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl earlier.

Some of the commentary regarding Bush today has been nauseating. I'm not saying that he doesn't deserve a lot of praise, and he will rightly win the Heisman trophy, but when you are talking about how it's "likely" he will be a better player than guys like Marcus Allen, you are taking it way too far.
-
Spoken like a true fan (and I mean this sincerely, since aren't you an Oregon fan?) That's how it should be done. Heed this man's actions, Dama. Oregon by virtue of going there. Michigan Wolverines fan for years hence the hatred for THE OHHHio State University.
-
I'm going for Texas because I'd cheer for anyone over USC except for OHHHio State and Notre Dame.
-
He will not run like that against Texas who has a Top 10 defense. Texas can actually tackle. UCLA is in the bottom of the country on defense. Texas is on the top. Big difference. Texas is 9th in scoring defense entering this week. USC is 28th. He said UCLA, not USC.

College football fans arguing over who is more biased for their own team is always amusing.
-
I don't see what would be so un-classy about Bush doing the Heisman pose...
-
I guess the media will have to content themselves with arguing over the "controversy" of which teams out of Notre Dame, Oregon, Ohio State, and Auburn got "screwed" out of a BCS spot.
-
For a second I thought that beach ball had made it on to the field.
-
Maybe they wanted to give one of their freshmen some playing time without taking off his redshirt...

a) I missed it, what happened? b) The writer's poll does still determine part of the national championship; it just isn't part of the BCS. It's just a segment that they called "The Harris Poll", I'm not even sure why. The segment today was top 5 Reggie Bush plays. It just seemed really childish to name it that. Haw haw the Harris Poll sucks the AP Poll is all that matters. We get it already. If I wanted to hear that I'd turn on ESPN.
-
That "Harris Poll" segment from ABC is really childish. Here's a tip for the media: if you wanted your poll to matter in determining the national championship, you shouldn't have told the BCS to stop using. Don't mock other polls that only exist because of your whining.
-
Well there's the Heisman trophy.
-
A big difference between those situations is that the non-poll aspects count much less than they did when OU made it. Also the system had all sorts of other factors in it at the time.
-
Watching UCLA's run defense hurts me physically.
-
Agree, but how is that much different than this? It's not like Vince referred to Booker T as a nigger and then fired him and had him dragged out of the building by security. The segment made Vince look stupid and out of touch by attempting to be "hip" while also mocking the whole "wigga" gimmick in general. The Booker T - HHH buildup and match was much more offensive because it involved HHH implying that Booker T was inferior because he's black and then beating him in the match to prove it. I would also say Randy Orton calling Shelton Benjamin "upity" was more offensive than Vince calling Cena a "nigga".

They shouldn't have cut away from the game to show the stupid player introductions. Given all the crap he's gone through Mack Brown deserved his moment in the sun for once.
