There are plenty of things wrong with Oklahoma right now, but Stoops definitely isn't one of them.

Oh and one more thing: GO STANFORD!

As a Duck fan, this is the game I'm hoping to get if Oregon get's left out of the BCS bowls. Damnit why couldn't OHHHio State just do the fucking job to Michigan like they were supposed to? Also while I don't object to OSU and ND being chosen, I think this backroom dealing to manipulate the bowl matchups is pretty stupid, because the TV networks are involved in it. It would be one thing if the BCS was manipulating the games to give the most appealing football matchups, which is what they should have done last year (so that Auburn could play Utah). But ABC shouldn't be influencing the process for TV ratings.

What kind of crazy nonsense talk is that? Did they think they got screwed out of the national title shot or something? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No it's definitely not that, but I still don't understand exactly what he was talking about. He was babbling something about how USC were the hottest team by the end and that he wanted to see them play tOSU to see who the best team was, and that there are "writers" (nothing elaborated here) that recognize them as "champions, but not the national champion". Don't ask me to figure out what all that means.

I'd say last year's USC team was better than this one. But it's hard to pick their 1-loss team ahead of an undefeated one. I also had some uber-homer USC fan telling me about how the 2002 team was the greatest 2-loss team of all time, and that they should have been viewed as "co-champions" (whatever the hell that means) or some other such nonsense.

Listening to Tyler you would think every game Tommy Maddox has played for the Steelers in his career was an abomination or something.

The OU-Tech play didn't look like a touchdown on ESPN's replay but that's from the back-endzone camera view which is probably skewed. I'd have to see a goal line cam to form a firm opinion, plus a camera shot of the knees.

I wouldn't say this one is the worst ever but I generally find it to be really fucking dumb:

This has not been a good year for the Republicans.

The Dems need to bring an Evan Bayh/Mark Warner ticket for 2008. Keep all the idiots like Hilary out of there. -
It would be funnier if the kid was going commando.

That Pooh Man cover is brilliant.

Bad news for Canadian Raw viewers..

If there's one thing more stale than RAW, it's Monday Night Football. -
That's pretty awesome, the last line in particular.

Owens can come to the WWE and cut a promo about how he's the greatest athlete the WWE has ever seen and so on, and he can rip on the Rock for being a CFL player and throw in some digs at the Miami Hurricanes. Bam, instant feud.
-
Terrell Owens vs. The Rock is what the WWE should try for.
-
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised at all if that happens. Vince would be crazy not to make a play for T.O. The media frenzy around it would be priceless. Maybe they can get McNabb, Garcia, or Dexter Coakley to be his opponent.
-
Jay Cutler from Vanderbilt is going to be the "hot" QB come draft time, like Rivers was two years ago.

BAH GAWD THAT T.O. IS A HOSS!!!

He's certainly not the only fan who does this. Here's a good, bizarre example: Several weeks ago when USC was playing their nailbiter against Notre Dame, the announcer at the Ducks game let the crowd know the score late in the game with ND winning. Well some of us in the student section started cheering, and the way the rest of the crowd reacted you would think we were rooting against the Ducks or something. The next day the student paper ran an article about this very topic, where the author asked students why they were pulling for USC over Notre Dame (these being the very same people who were chanting "Fuck You, SC" no more than a few weeks beforehand) and the responses were all "we have to cheer for a Pac-10 team to play in the title game" and so on. Frankly, I was quite surprised people took that attitude.

I don't think strength of schedule should be the only determining factor. USC and Texas are rolling over their opponents right now, while Alabama has to do stuff like gut out an ugly win against a really bad Vols team that could have easily been a loss. While it's true that both Texas and USC have found themselves in some tough situations this season (Texas last week, USC against Arizona State) neither of them were are close to defeat as Bama was against Tennessee.

HMW is one of the worst BCS apologists I've ever seen, so I don't know how much stock I'd put in his opinion <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Right because I don't whine PLAYOFFS PLAYOFFS PLAYOFFS! every season and go out looking for new excuses to bash the BCS after the old ones evaporate. For instance this season: first it was "there will be a ton of undefeated teams, the BCS is screwed", then after Georgia, etc. lost it was "VT will get screwed out of the title game if they win out" and now it's "Alabama will get screwed out of the title game if they win out" and when they lose it will be "Miami is the best team in college football but they are getting screwed out of the title game because they already lost". I for one like the fact that college football has a DIFFERENT system than the monotony of most professional team sports. Every game means something and losing is unacceptable. Go to some ridiculous system like a 16 team playoff and the big games cease to mean anything. Teams will simply beat up on jobbers in their non-coferenfce games to ensure they get seeded as high as possible. Goodbye Texas vs. tOSU, hello Texas vs. Temple! Great stuff...

The rampant complaining (or maybe pre-complaining is a better term) about Texas is getting old. We spent weeks hearing about how VT should pass them if they win out and then they go and get blown out by Miami. Now we are doomed to hear the same thing about Alabama until they get rolled at some point by a superior SEC team like LSU. And then the final stage will come as people complain that 1-loss teams are better than an undefeated Texas. This will occupy the time period up to the date the BCS games are chosen, at which point it will just be back to arguing about Texas vs. USC again. Personally, all I want to see now is these 1 and 2 loss teams at the top of the pile knocking each other off so that the Ducks can backdoor their way into the top 8 or so and a BCS game.
-
If Texas loses I think it's pretty clear they arn't the best one-loss team out there. But the simple fact remains: they are undefeated. And they are better than a Tyrone Protho-less Alabama, that I'm sure of. If USC and Texas win out then that is the best and obvious choice for the championship game.

Am I the only one that thinks right now Vanderbilt should be the favorite in their game against Tennessee? Given the massive egg the Vols have laid this entire season I wouldn't be surprised at all if this Vanderbilt team kicks them to the curb. Vandy in an SEC bowl game and UT not in one? Good grief.
