Was I mishearing things or was one of the announcers towards the end of the Miami-VT game complaining about how the Huricanes are being screwed by the BCS system because they have no chance of getting into the title game unless the undefeated teams lose? It seems that sportscasters are going to have to grasp at straws like "the BCS prevents previously beaten teams from redeeming themselves by getting the chance to upset unbeaten ones!" since it's becoming more and more likely we are going to end up with a USC vs. Texas matchup of unbeaten teams that are the clear top two.

I've been saying the same thing for a while. White has the build and skill of an NFL-style workhorse back, which I don't think is the case with Bush.
-
Oregon would beat OU easily but OU-Texas Tech would be a competitive game. And it's possible we will see that very game in the Holiday Bowl or something. Although I'm still hoping the Ducks can sneak into a BCS game.
-
This Vanderbilt team sure has some guts.
-
This is getting comical. In the mean time, this Florida-Vanderbilt game is really good and competitive.

No Way. Maybe my bitterness is getting in the way here, but every one of Bama's tough SEC games have been at home. They should be nowhere near Pasadena. And plus, they will lose to LSU so this is all for not. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is generally what I'm thinking as well. Plus without Protho in the lineup I'd say they are a pretender at best.

20-0 Miami now. I've ragged on the Hurricanes in the past (mostly for staying high in the polls with mediocre records at the start of the season) but they are looking really impressive. I'd say that if the season ends with less than 2 undefeateds, then they are probably first in line to make it as a one-loss team.

Man UCLA is getting rolled. It's 45-7 now.

T.O. is just like 50 Cent: whenever his name starts to slip out of the media limelight, he invents a new beef to prop it back up. Also like 50, he seems to be more interested in showing off his muscles than actually doing his "job".
-
Looking at that schedule one thing came to mind: how awesome would it be if Stanford of all teams, the squad that lost to a division 1-AA school, walked into the Coliseum and took down USC?
-
There might be money in a Jay-Z/Nas vs. 50 Cent feud though. If Jigga and Nas do an album together where they cut a diss on 50 it will probably do good business.
-
That last three minutes or so by Buffalo was absolutely pathetic. EDIT: HAHAHAHA a forward lateral!

Good choice of a thread to bump. Among newer diss tracks, I like "Where the Hood At" by DMX which if you pay attention to the lyrics is basically just a big diss on Ja Rule.

Cheney directly implicated by notes?
Hogan Made Wrestling replied to bobobrazil1984's topic in Current Events
Yeah it doesn't seem like Cheney is involved here other than to make the case against Libby stronger than it already was. -
And my love for wrestling has just died...

I have to admit in finding some humour in the OU fight song being played and the Sooners helmet coming out of his arse. -
I couldn't have cared less about Texas before the season started, but now I'm hoping they win the National Championship just to rub it in your face.

Not relevant to this year's rankings, except for the last 7. Not relevant to this year's rankings. One of which is not revelant to this year's rankings, by their own choice. Not relevant to this year's rankings, except for the last 7. You make it sound like getting back to #1 is some insurmountable obstacle. The BCS rankings by their very nature are going to be volatile until the season ends. Really they shouldn't release them at all until the end of the year but if they didn't all sorts of people would calculate them anyway, or get mad because they arn't available. And really, there is no difference between being #1 and #2.

I remember reading something about HBK and HHH working to sabotage Rock early in his career (I vaguely remember a rumor about them lobbying to have him job the I-C belt to Bret or something like that), plus there was that promo back in 02 where HBK took a cheap shot at Rock out of the blue ("...just like the Rock is jealous of Hunter"), so there could be some kinda heat between these two. Anyway, I wouldn't rule out a match between these two. There's a poll on WWE.com asking whether or not people would wanna see HBK vs the Rock, and as you can imagine most people voted yes. This could all be a work to get people interested in a match between the two. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Meltzer stated in his daily update yesterday that this is NOT a work, and that The Rock really does dislike Michaels and has no desire to ever work with him. Now, as for why the Rock dislikes Michaels so much, here's Meltzer's take (from 8-9-05 on the WrestlingClassics board): "The incident in question was a TV match in 1997 with Bret Hart as a heel vs. Rock as a face. rock and HHH were rivals for the same spot, and it was booked for Hart to win with a sharpshooter. Hart went to management and said Rock was going to be the future superstar of the company and he saw no reason to beat him. He knew why it was booked that way, so he did some sort of DQ finish instead. Shawn cried like a baby over it because their ingenious plan had been screwed. That's why, to this day, the guys Rock always praises the most are Hart and Austin. As far as Rock refusing to work with Michaels. I don't buy it, and I'm pretty sure if that was the case, I'd know. Saying he has no desire, that I can believe, but refusing, seriously, he's long past sweating anything that goes on in pro wrestling." Keep in mind that Meltzer didn't know (until now) that the Rock had absolutely no desire to work with HBK. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry but I don't buy that story for a second. That sounds like classic Meltzer revisionist history designed to make Bret look as good as possible and make Shawn and HHH look as bad as possible. "Rock was going to be the future superstar of the company"? And Meltzer makes it sound like Rock losing to main event star Bret Hart in that situation would have permanently buried him or something so that HHH could "take his spot". It's just more pro-Bret bullshit from Dave.

No kidding. The quality of games on TV is rapidly eroding to the point where I feel like I'm watching out of habit rather than out of desire. Where with college ball there is usually at least one really good game on at any given time on Saturday, even though there might be three or four bad ones on. And occasionally you get a day that's loaded with great games, which never seems to happen in the NFL anymore.

What the hell is Brees doing?
-
On one hand: the PTC sucks and most of their rationales for both best and worst shows are stupid. On the other hand: I find most of the stuff on their "worst list" to be quite bad, and so mine would look pretty similar but for totally different reasons. In particular, their three worst shows are ones that I think suck.

Fuck damnit, we lost Kellen Clemens for the season. I still think the Ducks can beat OSU and WSU, but the Cal game is now an even bigger question mark than it was before.

It is a good call, for the long term. One say Comcast is going to win the "digital war" and be the dominant media company in North America. At that point the NHL is going to be glad they hooked up with Comcast early on and built a relationship with them. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> While the other three leagues lament their partnerships with PRIMITIVE ESPN! BETTMAN WILL BE LAUGHING I SAY <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Comcast has their sights set on Disney, and don't be surprised if that take over eventually happens. At which point ESPN will be their bitch toy.

Baylor beating OU is one of the signs of the Apocalypse isn't it? EDIT: well, OU won so I guess the world is safe.
