I think the problem for Yankees players is that the media have an infatuation with players who have big years on teams that contend after being lousy the season before. Hence Yankees players don't get viewed as being all that "valuable" since the team has been good for such a consistently long period of time. For this reason I think Guerrero will end up winning it, although he, Sheffield, and Ramirez are all deserving candidates.

The thing that worries me with Kerry is that even if he does get elected, just what sort of mandate is he going to have? Whether he himself believes he is running "against Bush' or "for himself" doesn't matter because everyone in the media, and hence the general public, think it's the former. Unless the Dems take the Senate as well as the White House, Kerry could end up being a real lame duck president, even moreso than pre-9/11 Bush was.

Any predictions for the congressional elections? Specific seats and overall loss/gain would be interesting. The only one the press has talked about a lot is Obama.

Oh, good call. Something else they should have is a tour-style cycling stage race, that lasts the whole olympics.

The way JR and the King reacted to it was so cool because it was totally different than anything they've done before. Normally JR would be going on "Damn Triple H! Damn him to HELL!" and the King would be shrieking something. JR's "Is Evolution really the solution?" line just as the show went off the air was absolutely perfect.
