I've been hearing the name of the New York AG (Elliott Spitzer correct?) mentioned as a possible veep, no idea what the feasibility of that is or if he would be a good candidate, but the media has thrown it out there.

Chris Rock,Steve Martin Get Comedy Pilots from FOX

Rock's show sounds like "CB4: The Series". -
How about Anne Coulter vs. Michael Moore in a chocolate pudding match? Moore's mouth of course must be duct-taped shut so he doesn't suck up all the pudding before the match starts.

City of San Francisco sues State of California
Hogan Made Wrestling replied to Jobber of the Week's topic in Current Events
Here's an idea I had today that I felt was sort of a gap between the "eliminate marriage completely from government, civil unions for everyone as the legal status" people (such as myself and several others here), and people who (understandably) think that's too extreme a solution: 1. The main government tool to recognize legal partnerships becomes the civil union. These are used for all government-related business as it pertains to "marriages": power of attorney, divorce, tax benefits, and so on. 2. The state continues to officially recognize marriages in the following way: a church which has been certified as a legitimate religious organization by the government (so no David Koresh-type cults need apply) has the power to perform a marriage, afterwhich some paperwork is submitted to the government and processed to symbolically but formally recognize the religious marriage. All religions are free to set their own moral guidelines and principles here, but the government cannot refuse a marriage sanctioned by a religious organization that they have already approved as legitimate. So for instance, if the Anglican church decides it is going to perform homosexual religious weddings, the government cannot use that as a basis to de-certify it. Obviously this is just a rough idea, comments are welcome and appreciated. BTW, as far as the "slippery slope" issue is concerned, since it comes of semi-frequently: while some of the "cases" outlined may be hard to dismiss, I don't see how polygamy suddenly becomes amenable to official government weddings if homosexual marriages do. This is because the laws as pertaining to the relevant issues such as taxes, next of kin, etc. would need to be completely overhauled to take these cases into account, whereas with a marriage between two individuals of the same sex does not produce the same legal problems. -
It's North Korea, anyone honestly expect anything less?

DING DING DING and there's the line I've been shifting through this thead to find. Mike's gun idea is interesting, perhaps they can test it out in Compton, California? I don't think there would be much civil opposition. -
"Who Let The Dogs Out?" - Baha Men "Thong Song" - Sisqo "Hero" - Chad Kroeger "Right Thurrr" - Chingy "Invisible Kid" - Metallica Plus plenty of others.

Taking time off for injuries. Flair himself said he would work Mania... I personally feel Flair deserves it...not Botchtistia. I would have them both in and make it a handicap match. Rock and Foley are big enough stars that it won't hurt Evolution to have the advantage, win or lose.

U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown: "all look alike to me"...
Hogan Made Wrestling replied to Downhome's topic in Current Events
Lott was basically forced out by his own party, his comments were used as an excuse by the Karl Rove Machine to get rid of Lott who represents the old-guard, southern, traditional conservative Republicans and replace him with someone more to the Bush admin's liking. Compare the lack of support Lott received to the massive show of support the White House gave Santorum (whose comments were far worse than what Lott said), mainly because he's rich, young, not from the south, and socially conservative. -
Deja Vu has a pretty cool cover. It's also fun to use as a "forum pic" whenever someone keeps repeating the same argument over and over again.

Four most common words you will hear out of Kerry's mouth: I, served, in, and Vietnam. Four most common words you will hear out of Bush's mouth: terror, compassionate, conservative, and uniter. -
WWE Notes from the 3/1 Observer
Hogan Made Wrestling replied to Dangerous A's topic in The WWE Folder
I don't think the tattoos are such a big deal as far as the Rock's movie career is concerned, because 1. they can hide them with makeup and special effects and 2. he can always just take roles where he's mainly clothed like in The Rundown. -
I don't think Vince walks that way on purpose, he's so roided up that when he's wearing a suit down to the ring he has to walk like that.

I have never found Family Guy funny. As far as cancelled cartoons go, Undergrads owns it. -
The 10 Ten Canceled TV Shows
Hogan Made Wrestling replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in Television & Film
Murder One is still the best show ever that was cancelled. The 2nd season, while nowhere near as good as the 1st (which is easily the best single season of any TV series in history), was still better than 99% of the stuff on TV at the time. It's a real shame they couldn't keep together the full season 1 cast for an extended period of time. I'm not sure there was ever a better group assembled for TV anywhere. As far as this list goes, while Homicide being on there is a bit strange given the length of its run, it was one of the best shows of its era. The crossover episodes with Law & Order were some of my all-time favorite TV. -

http://www.amconmag.com/3_1_04/cover.html Usually I think Pat is a fundamentalist nutjob, but I think he is dead on with this one. He basically outlines everything I hate about the neo-lib/neo-con movement as well.

I voted for "Next Saturday...I'm Gonna Do It!" without even having to think twice. My runner up would probably be the Vince McMahon's Ladder Legdrop thread.

I hope we load up on a whole gaggle of useless independent candidates (Nader, Brown, Buchanan, Moore, etc.) so that when one of Kerry or Bush loses, we can hear 2000 v.2 with everyone on one side blaming some of these candidates for "costing" their guy the election, while ignoring any effect the other ones had on the vote. I'll make a prediction right now: one of Kerry or Bush will win the election with the difference in popular vote between them being higher than the percentage gained by all 3rd party candidates.

Pat Buchanan sticks it to the neocons
Hogan Made Wrestling replied to Hogan Made Wrestling's topic in Current Events
Folks, conservatives have learned to ignore Buchanan years ago (he killed us in 1992). He will sell out his beliefs (didn't he run WITH a Communist last year), is a racist and utterly useless person who happens to speak well. Again, amazing how much respect the left will give somebody when they criticize "neocons". O'Reilly and now Buchanan get a little love. Strange. -=Mike With O'Reilly are you talking about his criticism of Bush, or something else? Because I don't consider Bush a neo-con. -
HHH going over at Wrestlemania again
Hogan Made Wrestling replied to JN News's topic in The WWE Folder
Agreed. I'm standing by my prediction (which is also what I would like to see happen) that Michaels wins the belt at Wrestlemania, turns fully heel on Benoit, and then Benoit wins the belt at Backlash. -
It's Larry Flynt, who honestly gives a shit?

You do realize that this rumor came from the Democratic side don't you? Dean or Clark campaigns are the likely suspects. I mean, yes, it's obvious that the GOP wouldn't be asinine enough to leak damaging info about the Democratic front-runner in FEBRUARY --- when it would do them no good. -=Mike On one hand, they've done it before. On the other hand, the Bush camp is smarter than the Nixon camp.

Vince's wrestlemania announcement
Hogan Made Wrestling replied to slabinskia's topic in The WWE Folder
Running Vince vs. Eric now wouldn't be a bad way to cross-promote the new Monday Night Wars DVD, at any rate.
