Speaking of people living in the past... Could be worse, they could have called it the USSR. As for the actual story: do these people not understand the concept of a museum? I mean, I could possibly understand protesting it if they were riding it down Pennsylvania ave. on a float, but really. I hope these people never go to the Imperial War Museum in London and see the stuff collected there.

I know two things about this movie: it's going to be very good, and very overrated as well.

I would say it depends upon the job they're both applying for and their previous job experience, plus their resume and cover letter and their personal appearance. For example, if they're applying for a job in retail, odds are they'll both get it. If they're applying for a job that requires a high level of creativity, the film studies major would get it, I would think, since film studies is generally considered to be a more creative field than math. However, if they're applying for a job that requires following the rules and high levels of intense concentration on hard to solve problems, I'm guessing the math major would probably get that job. But odds are a math or physics major wouldn't be applying for a job that requires a high level of creativity, and a film studies major probably wouldn't be applying for a job that stifles their creativity. Now, if you actually realised how real mathematics works, you'd know how incredibly stupid that sounds. Good mathematicians are among the most creative people you will ever find.

That's a BS conspiracy theory, here's what really happened: Hussein actually fled to Cuba, staged a coup and took power from Castro, and then stuffed him in that hole to get caught. So while the US has finally taken down Fidel, Hussein is now ruling Cuba with an iron fist.

I'll try and pull this back on topic a bit. Today Bush announced that Hussein's ultimate fate will be decided by the Iraqis in some sort of Iraqi trial. While I think this is what should happen, I also feel that the US should hang on to Hussein for at least a little bit and see what sort of information they can get out of him. If he can provide information on Bin Laden and Al Queda, that's more valuable than having him tried and executed as quickly as possible. But having him eventually tried in Iraq is both the right thing to do politically and morally, since the majority of his crimes were commited against the Iraqi people.

Words cannot even describe how horrible that is. Of course, if the US Army is looking to promote a "we are tolerant of gays in the military" campaign...

I am applying to grad school right now and will be going wherever offers the best combination of program strength and financial support package. I will 100% for sure be leaving my current city, and probably 75% chance I will be moving to the USA.

Fact is, the only reason USC is #1 in the polls and not LSU is because USC had a better team LAST SEASON and so they got ranked higher in the preseason polls, which is complete bullshit of course.

Nice job by the US military. CNN is talking about how the main tension coming out of this could be between the US, who may want to interrogate Hussein for long periods of time about WMDs and may even offer him some sort of deal in exchange for info on WMDs and Bin Laden and so on, and the Iraqi Governing Council who will probably want some sort of quick show trial to make an example out of Hussein and assert their authority over the country.

The NFL and college football are practically two different sports. In many respects, NCAA ball is closer to the CFL than to the NFL with all the gimmick plays and system offenses.

Amen to that. I'm majoring in mathematics, and planning to do grad school in mathematics next. Angelslayer, got any favorite areas or potential grad school research fields? My specialization is in operator C*-algebras, K-theory, and noncommutative geometry.
