I was fine with Zack winning. If I was planning to move Dan into singles more I might have pushed for him to get the win but Black T is going to be around a while yet. I haven't properly read Zack's portion of the match yet so I can't comment on the rest of your points yet...or the rest of the show... *goes to read*

You can get this match on Limewire.

Yeah, shortish show. I guess everyones mainly writing for LA this week. Are they available from the OAOAST shopzone? Aside from stupid jokes about typos, I like the press conference. I can't remember the last time I was part of a segment with four different writers, so it was good to see it hung together well. With basically four consecutive promos, it could have gotten dull but I think we avoided that. And the brawl at the end was a good pay off. Good Crystal promo. I liked that it set up a in-ring story for her match at LA; that she has the submissions ability to beat Hoff. Last Man Dancing is a fantastic stip. There should be some kinda training video of both guys practicing their moves, or something. Brock-Jumbo was a decent little squash match. Post match activities were more important, obviously, and I'm glad Killings has returned, I think theres plenty could be done with his character. The movie cannister was a nice weapon of choice. I love "Weekend at Neddy's". Especially Ned celebrating his heterosexuality while being beaten down. Ned taking a Cornette to the groin and the sex cave were also very cool. Mr. Blanchard has really become a break out star, and CoD were awesome as usual. Interesting bit with Sly. More Ned! I am becoming a disciple of the Neddy Bear. The tag division continues to rock. A good little sneak attact from Crystal to reinforce her earlier promo. The Dude/Cornie segment was fun. I like Cornette supporting Dude and showing some heel solidarity. The LA match should be, again, fun, and I think there's mileage for this feud to go after. Some history from Some Guy - v useful for all the newer guys, and, er, people who weren't paying enough attention at the time. This was excellent, showing exactly why SG wants to beat CWM so bad. The PRL handicap match did a good job in setting up Brickston as a monster. Not overly long either. I don't think the Frankies ever got to be in a skit before. Go Frankies! And the HR, who are almost as cool as Ned, but not quite, put in a great perfomance here. I like that the Frankie's promo ability is limited to obscenities. Adam did a good job on the first half of the tag match, hopefully I finished it off ok. Oh, and I liked Patty's referencing of my pioneering concept, Cole's Bar, a couple of times in the show. I would totally watch it. Solid show, LA has shaped up very nicely on less build than usual.

Angle-Batista could be pretty good and do a lot for Batista. I'm not sure what kind of rub Cena would get from beating Michaels, although we'd also get Eddie-HBK which should be fun.

It's not that its unreliable, it's that the downloads are limited to 20 or 25, so often the links are dead by the time people come to click them.

Sounds like a very solid show. I like Lethal getting the win over Spanky, and Lethal-Joe should be a great match. I think Aries' title run is going to pick up momentum now, with what should be a hot Shelley feud plus a rematch with Gibson.

If I need to write anything for the tag match, someone let me know

Actually that match was all Adam's work, and he did a great job so all props to him. I know what you mean, Tony, Black winning did perhaps put an odd slant on the Axel-Brannigan feud, but I think it worked ok. Of course, having a pin over the champ in the main event, I would say that Oh, and Zack's segment for our feud was awesome. Really threw in all the history and the background as to why these two men should be at each others throats. I really enjoyed this, obviously as its my character, but the writing was excellent too.

Posting Date for Living Anglelously
Mystery Eskimo replied to Stephen Joseph's topic in Brandon Truitt
Leave the show where it is, otherwise we all have to do an extra week. I'd rather be concentrating on my LA writing. -
I can understand the guys who built up that title being concerned about it, but the belt is below the X title which barely has enough challengers as it is. PR seems to have done everything above board so I'd just let him run with it. Although it would be good if he did feedback. And trimmed his segments. And cut down on the Rock ripoffs.

Is that tag match still on?
-
Keep General seperate for all the old school stuff in there. Definitely merge TNA and Puroresu into Misc. TNA doesn't need or deserve its own folder, really.

I like drunk people. They're funny. So Scott Hall in the opening segment was also funny. Chris Stevens getting cheered? Will he turn face? Would freshen up his character, for sure. Good SG promo, saying what he had to say. Heh. Birmingham Boyz was cute. I wonder what chavs are called in America. Decent PRL promo/match. I'd suggest making the big moves mean a bit more, add some description. Prototype hits SJP with a DVD, powerbomb, belly to belly suplex, and it's pretty much just written out like I have there. John Brickston could be an interesting character with some more background. In the world of the OAOAST, announcers get humiliated and abused as a matter of course. Poor Terry Taylor seems to be making a challenge for the "Most Humiliated" Award. I kinda liked the Taylor made man too. Is that wrong? Anyways, fun promo. The fan comments were great. I don't know anything about American sports, so a lot of Alf's promo was over my head. Good to see him sticking around, though. Good Frankies-HR match, cool spots and an even better post-match brawl. Looking forward to seeing a feud develop here. Using Cornette in the Axel-Tony confrontation was a nice touch. I also like Tony's new "Brannigan's Law" catchphrase. The LA match should be great. I don't think anything was bland here, Tony. Not as crazy as a Patty promo, sure, but serious and effective. And I have to go do real life stuff. More later.

Final nail in Forest's coffin last night

Take your pick. Josh Matthews is the main one. Randy Savage pops up quite a bit. I think Panther has used Jackie Gayda a bunch of times too, so I guess she's on the payroll. And there's Jesse Ventura and Tony Schiavone. Although, I think Jesse is unnoffically a tag team division (read: Black T) based interviewer. Don't forget Mean Gene~! I'm sure he'd like a change from interviewing the Love Doctors every week. But really, anyone you can think of can be an interviewer.

Cool promo from Axel to start. I liked the new theme and new catchphrase to start off a new era. Also having his first challenger be a new one was a nice touch. How many more times can I use the word new in a paragraph? Lots. That's how many. I really like the Heavenly Rockers name, so it was good to see them keeping that. I'm not sure what Tony has planned for them next, but the team has come a long way since they debuted as Black T's hitmen last year. WWE wishes it had character development this good. Zack/SG-Hitmen was excellent, I can imagine a crowd going crazy for this one. Some cool double team moves from HH (that I shall probably steal when writing their next match) and fast paced action. Hitmen looked great whilst still losing, and the Zack/SG team is a fun one. Brannigan's promo (What was "Brannigan's Law", from Futurama? Or did I imagine an episode with that? Hmm) was great, setting up the importance of the match and putting himself over well as a legitimate contender. I'm glad that Black T are getting to work some singles stuff, just to remind everyone they're still dangerous wrestlers outside the tag division. It was good to see the end of the PRL-Panther match. I liked the drama in this, but, again, a clear case of less would be more. I know OAOAST has never been about technically correct matches, but there was an over kill on big moves here. It'll be interesting to see what PR can do with the 24/7 belt. We don't seem to have a whole lot of characters who would challenge for a lower level title like that, so he'll have to raise its importance somehow. I was anticipating a Hoff-Gunner match, and now we get it. Good! Hoff vs Crystal should be a fun match too. With only a couple more weeks till the next PPV, everything has to be built quickly and strongly, and this segment helped that along. Nice Rodez-Dude encounter. The X title has needed a strong contender for a while now, and Dude should provide it. Dude is growing on me as a character. Axel vs Brannigan was very good. I loved the crowd interaction, and Jesse on commentary - Cool! Working the back was good psychology, and Brannigan got in a good amount of offence to make him look like a viable threat to the title. Plus, any match that ends with Black T destroying the World Champion has to be at least ****3/4. Wow, Ned and Krista? I didn't see that coming. Very interesting angle. Neddy Bear is really breaking out as a character. I feel kinda sorry for Simon, although he did try hard. Aww. Good to see CWM isn't finished. There's a lot of historical stuff to back up a feud with Some Guy. So is Killings done? that'd be kinda weird. I was expecting PK to be in league with Killings or something. Good to see him back anyways. Overall - promo heavy show, but to be expected. Lots of fresh angles and matches springing up, and this really did feel like the start of a new chapter in OAOAST history.

Sounds good to me, Zack. Anything you want me to write, let me know. - The Love Doctors attempt to get their HIYAH tag title shot contracts signed by Hell's Hitmen

I had the misfortune to catch Kazabian at the V festival last year and they were probably the worst thing I've ever seen. And I've seen a LOT of awful bands. The only band mentioned in this thread I can stand listening to more than one song from is British Sea Power.
-
If anyone's interested, my part was the start up till CWM attempts his first Pollycutter and Zack hits him with a spinebuster. I was trying for a more deeply written, dramatic style to start things off so glad you liked it.
-
As I said somewhere else, I think the Dude could be the perfect challenger for the X title right now.
-
Tony and I were both reminded of that match too, independently. Funny. Or not.
-
Well, they presumably brought Akebono in because of their continuing big man fetish and in the hope the freak show nature of the match would attract a few more buys. Akebono probably won because he refused to job to a non-sumo guy and look stupid. If you watch a real sumo match, you'd see that what Show and Akebono doing was extremely weak. A shoot match wouldn't have been booked in case one of them got hurt.
-
Why do some people seem to think Show-Akebono was a shoot? Strange. On seeing the show, I enjoyed the odd piece but in general it was pretty bland stuff. There was nothing new here. Even the crowning of two new champions was very underwhelming, and neither Cena or Batista really stepped up their game considering what the stage was.

Ok, I'm going to attempt this in one go. Its a very slow day at work, so I might make it through. As Docs-Hitmen was mine I'll move straight to the opening. I really liked the wrestler's little speeches, that was a good idea from NYU. I got a little buzz off a few of these. A great set up for the show. The Schiavone-Jesse run down was also cool. I first got into wrestling in the early 90s with WCW Worldwide broadcasts with those two commentating, so I'll always mark for Tony and Jess. Bill Watt's appearance was also a nice touch. A good re-cap before the first World Title bout. The match itself was built well, nothing too flashy to start, then leading into the bigger moves. Things started to get a little overbooked with the removed turnbuckle pad, and Hoff kicking out of the Stonecutter kinda hurt that move a little I think (and made it way less exciting when Axel did the same later), but those are minor gripes. Solid match. Another nice re-cap for Axel-Crystal. Working the knee was a smart tactic that let Crystal do the heel heat segment without unrealisticly dominating offence. Speaking of that, Crystal uses a german suplex a little later that I'm not sure would look too good. Otherwise, the psychology was very sound. I was hoping Crystal would win this one, but I guess Axel needed to stay strong for the main event, and Crystal didn't look weak in losing. I'd agree with Mascot that this could have gotten more of its own focus. Panther-PRL was a fun brawl, some nice spots in there, but a bit of overkill. There were a LOT of chair shots and moves onto chairs which started too early into the match and were basically no-sold a few minutes later. Cole kissing a horse got a laugh from me. I'd hope the match ends shortly after where it cuts out because otherwise it's getting a little silly with all these huge moves that dont get a pin. Prince Killings' debut was enjoyable. It's interesting that we don't really have a lot of "Sportz Entertainment" type angles in the OAOAST as a rule, so Killings does stand out. The extra chin locks was a nice touch. I'll look forward to the swerve Chuck mentioned he has planned for the character. Good Heavenly Rockers/NNMX promos. Tony has become one of my favourite promo guys and he did another great job here. Ned watering Holly's garden with his sperm was impressively weird. Charles Robinson with a clothesline? Awesome. Match was very entertaining, a good heat section on Tiffany and excellent finishing sequence. Heh. I am becoming a Nerdly mark. Good to see them getting an angle. Sandman's return was very cool, as was Caboose's reaction. Wild match, fun cameos from Jay, JINGUS and Evenflow. It gave the match a very old school feel. The twist was nice, but couldn't they have done that without beating the crap out of Alf first? Poor guy. Er...the announcement about Anglemania V didn't make much sense? Joy of X was a great fast paced match up. Lots of fun spots, and for a match where the winner was obvious, it did a good job of keeping up tension. GPX and CoD have chemistry. Like, test tubes and stuff! I don't know. I liked the fans popping for Krista's headlock. Also bonus points for the use of the word "rambunctious". Anyways, Patty's matches are always a blast to read, and this was great. Ha, telestrator. Standing 630?! Wow, that is one flexible gal. I like Texas Deathmatches. I can't remember seeing one in OAOAST, not recently anyway, so I was looking forward to Calvin-Dude and it didn't disappoint. It got nice and brutal without getting cartoonish. This feud really put Dude on the map and reintroduced Calvin, so I'll look forward to seeing what they both do next. Alix is disturbing, and yet hot. NNMX-CoD should make for a fun feud. I'd like to see Neddy Bear and Alix on a date, or something, as Neddy is the official romeo of the OAOAST. I'm digging NNMX more and more all the time. As Zack mentioned, he and I did half each on our match. I won't comment on my bit but Zack's was really good. The aWo tease was a cool double swerve. The pace got quicker and quicker until we got a cool finisher frenzy sequence, and the triple superkick finisher was a nice way to underline the victory. Considering this match and feud wasn't really a long term plan, it all came together pretty well in the end. Aaaaand finally. To be honest, I wanted Drek to retain; I think there was still a lot of mileage left in his title run. But the match was good, not quite a classic but very solid. I liked the chokeslam to the floor, I've always enjoyed that move, and Drek with the somersault legdrop was cool, although, as someone else said, I'm not sure the double Burning Hammer is really possible. Overall, the card was good to great all the way through. There wasn't really a blow away MOTY contender type match, but then that's extremely subjective anyway. Thumbs up. I can't believe we made it to AM IV. Here's to another year.

No April Fools could have been as funny as todays Newcastle match. Dyer vs Bowyer plus Taylor's acting ability, priceless.
