    World Cup 2006 in Germany

McBride bleeds! I'd like to see Italy fall apart now.

    Ric Flair vs Mick Foley

2/3 falls is a strange choice of match, but I'll still look forward to this more than anything else on the card. It won't be great, but it won't be an embarassment.

    World Cup 2006 in Germany

Like a whole group of sports that the rest of the world doesn't know or care about? Yeah, pretty much. Football and baseball are our games, and we like it that way. Tough shit; we don't need to validate our existence by beating Peru in a soccer game like you guys do. Well, good. You enjoy your sports, the world can enjoy ours. Speaking of physicality, it was quite amusing to see Crouch's pull on the T&T defender's dreadlocks. We really are a poor side at the moment. Lampard needs to start contributing more creatively, turning up in the box to miss chances isn't good enough.

    World Cup 2006 in Germany

Like a whole group of sports that the rest of the world doesn't know or care about? Anyway, Ecuador looking good to go through here. Could be an interesting second round tie for England.

    CM Punk...

I don't think even the most ardent Punk fan would honestly put him even close to Flair or Benoit. He's a solid wrestler capable of good to great matches, with above average mic skills.

Ring of Honor 6.3.06 DESTINY results

I don't think ROH would miss him that much. He must have had five or six title shots now, and he's had a couple of "huge" grudge feuds against Danielson and Cabana. There's plenty of people to step into those kind of spots.

    World Cup 2006 in Germany

Decent performance from England today, although Jamaica are such a poor team its really pretty meaningless. Crouch was again the highlight, a comedy penalty miss and then cracking finish for the final goal. Let's hope he retires the robot celebration now, though.

    Superman Returns Trailer

Now that trailer is a hell of a lot more exciting than the other one. Bullet to the eye? Awesome.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

Nash will probably take a pinfall from Dutt or Sabin... after the entire X division runs in and he takes about ten finishers, kicks out, and then gets caught in a fluke roll up.

What is your pro wrestling name?

    Prince Extremist. Works for me.

    Book recommendations

I saw a mention for Ian McEwan's "Saturday" earlier in the thread, and having just finished that I'd definitely recommend. I'm currently reading "Catch as Catch can", a collection of Joseph Heller short stories. Hit and miss, but generally entertaining.

Booking for 5/19 HD (Special Friday show)

Erm, is there anything I can do, Tony, anyone?! I think I owe about a bazillion weeks of writing as it is.

    The Da Vinci Code

If you think Dan Brown is a good author, you need to read more books.

    World Cup 2006 in Germany

Rooney is crucial, but equally the form of Gerrard and Lampard will be vital. Gerrard has never quite played to his full in international tournaments but he could be a star here.

Well, thats a pretty bizarre squad. I'm quite entertained. Hopefully Hargreaves will get injured before the tournament starts.

    Living Angelously Feedback

Just wanted to give some feed on the Hoff/Black match and thank Hoff for carrying this feud and doing a great job with it. The match flowed really well, a slow, intense start building to some real drama, and everything was tight and well structured. Thumbs way up!

I'd take Marlon Harewood if we really needed a fifth striker. I'd like to see Lennon and Downing make the squad too.

    Superman Returns Trailer

I hated that. Just cheesy and embarassing. I'll still see the film and probably enjoy, I think I was just hoping for something a bit more 21st century then was offered in that trailor.

    Superman Returns Trailer

    That didn't excite me...disappointing.

What is the future of the Smackdown Main Event?

They have Benoit right there doing nothing.

    Feedback for 4/20

I found it as humorous as I found Masked Man of Mystery's signature pics disturbing. HHH looks all pretty.

    Feedback for 4/20

Some tasty Back o' Feed: Tony continues to work wonders with the tag team scene. If he ever gets tired of Mr Brannigan, there's a host of characters waiting to break out of his tag teams into singles. Frank Frankensteiner, the Man of Tomorrow, is my pick for that guy from this match. SCM always makes me think of Shawn Michaels, as the acronym would also work for Sweet Chin Music, and when I read: My brain thought it was the start of HBK's music...stupid brain...anyway, good tag match and I enjoy the telescopic baton. Nice little squash for Team Heyross, some fun offense in there. Nerdleys/D*LUX was lots of fun. I always enjoy ridiculously long criss cross segments, and the action proper was very smooth and engaging. Another quick squash that I can't take much from, but I'll look forward to the Reject/TK match at LA. Great work from Hoff on our programme this week. Strong promos with a logical build to a match stipulation. Nice to see the Love Docs back after I've left them to languish in HIYAH (and hold the tag titles for over a year now, I think). "Trust me, I'm a doctor" was a nice touch. Good build on the hot tag, which I often find hard to build drama on myself, and I appreciated the DQ finish. A good reminder of my viewing of Bill Watt's WCW. Drek lays the smackdown on Jackie. Excellent. And a smart, to the point reply from Mr Brannigan. A solid main event - quite a strange combination, but maybe I've not been paying attention to storylines enough. Ah, mystery men. I do like mystery men. Even when it was Animal in WCW. Good show, overall, building well towards LA.

    Crash=Overrated

This fellow reflects my opinion of the film very nicely. Crash was like being repeatedly hit in the face with the same (nowhere nearly as profound as it thinks) message, with slightly varying, uninteresting characters for each dull, predictable punch.

Every game we win I sit back and imagine how Gary Megson must be feeling. It's like nails being driven into the coffin of his career. Until some stupid chairman takes pity on him, anyway.

    Programs that Lasted Too Long

Joe/Homocide in ROH during Joe's title run. I'm probably biased by not being a 'cide fan at all, but this series felt like it went on forever.
