They were always going to put House & Cuddy together at some point. Bringing House to a drug free, vulnerable (by his standards) state was quite a good way of doing it, I think.

From a quick scan, this stands out as true (sans spelling mistake). Santino is wasted in comedy crap as a wrestler when he could be drawing big heat for a proper wrestler...or wrestlers..."Santino's Stable" would be great.

Vince wants a Wednesday Night show
Mystery Eskimo replied to YourKock'sReallyGreat's topic in The WWE Folder
Why not bring WCW back for Wednesday Night Nitro! Well, because it'd be a stupid idea, obviously. But it'd be an entertaining disaster. If they wanted to do something slightly different, they could have a show featuring developmental workers who are all fighting to get a shot on one of the main shows. Call it WWE Academy, or something. -
Why on earth would you become a fan of the Daily Mail? Its the paper that tells lazy right wing people who and what to hate and fear. That's its entire function. It contains less proper journalism that the side of a can of soup.

NO BACKLASH DISCUSSION THREAD????
Mystery Eskimo replied to King Cucaracha's topic in The WWE Folder
Punk-Kane is a strange one. Is it just me, or does it feel lika bit of a novelty these days to have a non-gimmick, non-title match on a PPV? I wonder if its on the card simply everyone knows Punk is in the vicinity with his MITB. -
Loved this episode. Charles being exposed as an ass kisser and then later realising Dwight is slightly insane was great. Jim's Dwight ringtone was pretty funny too.
-
I quite like the idea of Punk losing the MITB shot and turning heel...but I don't have faith in WWE letting him have an interesting heel character. If they let him do his straight edge "I'm better than you" routine and not make him into a typical chickenshit heel it could be really good. But I'd fully expect to see him needing to cheat to beat Super Crazy, or something. Edit - and I just realised they probably won't do the straight edge heel character because of the new child friendly direction. Be hard to tell the kids to boo this man because he doesn't do drugs! So generic heel Punk it would be.

Hard to argue with anything Cornette says. The "but he works for TNA!" argument is irrelevant. At worse it makes him a hypocrite, presuming he's involved with the nonsense that goes on there, it doesn't make him wrong. This is the really sad thing. Look at a guy like Colt Cabana. Unlikely to have ever been a main eventer, but lots of charisma and potential, and he lasts less than a year (I think it was as little as that?), gets about 3 TV matches and some internet skits.

Vaguely amusing? Hardly "disgusting", unless you're a homophobe.

We already have timetravel, resurrections, etc etc, I could do without speaking to the dead as well. What next, a guy who can fly?
-
They're still doing the Khali Kiss Cam? I know Khali sucks but isn't there something better to be done with him? Put him in a tag team maybe.

No love for the double episodes this week? I like Dwight and Andy as uneasy friends.

The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania Thread
Mystery Eskimo replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Just got round to seeing the show...enjoyed seeing Steamboat in action again most of all. Snuka and Piper embarassed themselves in contrast. Taker-HBK was clearly match of the night and they put in a huge amount of effort...but I wasn't as impressed as some people seem to be. We've seen the "opponent kicks out of a bunch of Taker's finishers" routine before, and it was so obvious who was winning going into the match that it sucked any tension out of HBK's near falls. That said I'm probably only talking about giving it **** rather than ****1/2, or something. Can anyone explain why Kid Rock went on so long? -
Lots of subtexts, but no laughs for me on that one. Didn't even raise a smile; I don't think I've ever seen a South Park episode less amusing. Oh well.

What makes other places more "English"? Less brown people? London has great places to go and awful places to go. Don't be put off by someone condemning a whole massive city as universally terrible. It is a very Northern thing to say London is shit. Yes its expensive, but so are a lot of major European cities. I had to spend far more in a weekend in Barcelona recently than I would have done visiting London. There's lots of history to see, and plenty of great museums, galleries and pubs (with perfectly drinkable non-warm beer) to visit.

Liverpool definitely deserved the win today...as a neutral though, there's still something stopping me from wanting them to dethrone United. But speaking of diving, how about Gamst Pederson's effort today...comedy!

Indeed, Lois and Clark have much more chemistry. For a "turn back the clock" episode, this was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was how quickly everyone turned on Clark...a trashy gossip column writer slings some accusations and suddenly cops are trying to shoot him? I guess there wasn't time for a lengthy attack on his reputation, but it was a bit silly.

The scene with Sylar and his dad wasn't bad, but what did it really leave us with? That Sylar's dad was an evil bastard who killed Sylar's mother just because? Not really an insightful revelation or anything.

Death At A Funeral: American Edition
Mystery Eskimo replied to LivingLegendGaryColeman's topic in Television & Film
Not to be all negative, but I saw the original version and hated it. Totally predictable and without any appealing characters. I really think the US should stop remaking UK stuff. You do fine coming up with great shows of your own, why the need to adapt our crap? I mean, both versions of The Office are great, and thats pretty much it. -
Well, its not quite about noble blood, but that's not far off. There's always been a big divide between the middle class and the working class in the UK. Jade Goody isn't particularly bright, interesting or appealing, but the fact that some people are actually taking pleasure in the fact she's dying is more distasteful than anything she ever did. (That's not referring to anyone in this thread, I have heard people opine that the sooner she's dead the better because of her being in the headlines all the time, being stupid, etc)
-
The thing is, it's not Jade's fault, and it's not Max Cliffords fault. If you're annoyed by all this then blame all the people who buy the gossip mags and watch Big Brother who create "celebrities" like her in the first place. There's no point getting cross at individuals who exploit this, if it wasn't Clifford it'd be someone else.

I really hope there's no curse. For some reason I can accept time travel, smoke monsters etc etc but an ancient egyptian curse would be a step too far for me. I really feel sorry for Juliette...not that I care about her character that much, but getting involved with 2 different guys who are both more into Kate than her? Ouch.

There is in New Zealand. Fat Boy

Dwight's suggestion of using a net to round up local people got a chuckle from me.

The fourth season really needs to have something different to it. There's too much time travel/seeing the future and then wandering around vaguely trying to prevent something from happening. How about some more action, some battles? They hardly ever use their powers to do anything exciting.
