  1. Halo 3. Nothing like the Halo franchise. How games so mediocre can gain so much hype.

I'm shocked it took this many posts to get the (generic Halo hate response), wow. Maybe I'm too used to boards with weeaboo infestations.

  2. My friend is up here for my wedding(Yes this Saturday I will be a married man) and he brought his 360 and bought BioShock the other day.....I have played it sparingly, but have mostly been watching, and I have to say, it looks fucking beautiful and it sounds amazing on the surround sound.....after that though, I can't say I am terribly impressed, he has been playing for a few days and next to nothing regards to storyline is being revealed. Neither of us have any clue yet as to why we are doing what we are doing, we just keep getting directions from that guy on the radio to do the next thing. The game also feels a bit repetative, as in, there is nothing he is doing now in the game that is terribly harder or different then what he was doing the first day he bought it. My opinion is probably biased though because I am doing a lot more watching then playing.

Are you listening to the audio logs, or just ignoring them? It's like System Shock 2 in the fact that the story isn't really spoon-fed to you. The logs you find during the game fill in the blanks as to what's going on.

  3. Never say never, especially with this developer. They did add co-op in a patch for System Shock 2.

That's really the only type of MP I'm interested in, so if it happened for Bioshock, that'd be nice.

  4. It's like System Shock 1960 version.

That's about the highest praise I can give anything, since SS2 is my favorite FPS of all time.

Getting the 360 version here, because I like the controls from the demo, and I don't care about PC gaming enough to spend enough I'd need to upgrade.

  5. It isn't going to happen. There's too much of a difference from the PS3/360 to be able to port a game down to the Wii easily. That's why the Wii is getting a spinoff instead of the series.

I can't see being able to play RE on anything but a normal controller. No pointless waggle controls for me.

  6. Yea the WWE needs to bring Heyman back so he can make snide remarks to Stephanie and the rest of the creative team. People act like it's Steph's fault but if someone made the comments to you that he made to her you'd hate the guy too.

So what are some of the specific comments Heyman made to Stephanie?

He basically called her a moron........

Then there was the comment where she was trying to explain something and said something like "if you were in my position" and he actually said to her "No I wouldn't understand, I built a company from scratch with hard work you were handed one by your father" or something along those lines......I can see why she doesn't like the guy.

    Well, the truth hurts.

  7. If you don't believe me, check out Beast Wars, or the IDW Transformers comics. The former has GREAT character build and depth, and the latter did Transformers set in a modern setting MUCH better than the movie.

It's not like they have more time to build characters in a long running TV/comic series than they do in a two hour movie, or anything.

  8. If people are this noisy about the 360's failing, it makes me wonder what it was like when PS2s started dying en masse.

I haven't had any problems with mine. I also keep it well ventilated, which helps.

  9. At one point, I had a flawless "level up your sucky stats" trick for Morrowind.

First off, grab one of the FAQs for the game that has a list of the secret trainers (that can train you all the way up to 100 for a fee), stat multipliers, and go. Snatch enough stuff from the Census & Excise Office before you leave to make a decent profit. All you have to do is grab it, then drop it on the floor before the guard gets to you..there's a platter worth 600 or so on a shelf. Pick the stuff up after you give that Guard your papers. Sell it wherever you like.

Make your way to the Vivec Mages' Guild, and buy a couple of the high-powered Frost damage spells for fairly cheap. Go outside, get on one of the planter boxes and go behind that, then whack an Ordinator - he can't get to you. Sell his armor to the Creeper in Caldera, pay off your bounty for pennies with the Thieves' Guild, and repeat.

It's somewhere around 6,000 profit per suit of Ordinator armor, which isn't bad for a little work.

  10. Fucking yes!

Best news ive heard all day!

Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Tamashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan

Thats one hell of a name. I know Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan means Go! Fight! Ninja Cheerleader, but ive no idea what the rest of it means.

Something close to: "Burn Up! Hot-Blooded Rhythm Spirits" for the first part.

  11. I've done all three methods, and I like the HDLoader the best.

Then again, I've had two PS2's die on me (yay, shoddy consoles) and one had the swap disc, the other modded.

With all three methods, you run into the occasional game that doesn't work. Swap discs won't play dual-layer games (IIRC), some modchips have problems with a few games, and HDLoader will run (most) everything. Some games have to be patched, but that's easy to do.

  12. Yeah.

Takes a bit longer, but it's still easier than fighting other random encounters to get the same AP.

Get one of your casters to use Stop, use it again three turns later. Just pummel him with non-elemental attacks. Mog's Earth Dance works well here because of Rock Slide, Edgar's Drill, and Locke with dual Hawkeyes.

  13. Ironically enough, I got it two tries after I posted that. From what I was reading, you only have a small chance (something like 12%) to get the other magicite after you buy one. The Angel Wings, Angel Ring, and that stupid chocobo have much higher percentages.

Fixing to to go the Floating Continent, and I'm probably almost too prepared. Terra and Locke are just points away from having every spell from the 14 espers I have at this point, and Celes is fairly close.

The Intangir are stupidly easy AP.

  14. I never had the SNES version, so this is really my first time playing it. I ROMed it years ago, but never got very far.

I only have a few complaints:

One: Stop taking characters out of my party, damnit. Leave Celes right where she is.

Two: Why didn't this get the full remake treatment on the DS instead of 3? Well, with Square's statement they'll be remaking more games, hopefully it'll happen.

Three: Getting the magicite from the Auction House is really a pain in the ass. I got Golem on the first try, but the other one won't come up.

  15. That's why you, you know, market the games.

And Japanese games bombing on xbox are just par for the course.

No update today--injured finger. Plenty more coming soon, though.

Nah, that's just people ignoring good games just because they're on an Xbox.

Then when the franchise goes boom, complaining that developers only release shooters and football games.
