WWE General Discussion - January 2009
EdwardKnoxII replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Question am I the only one that's liking the Royal Rumble theme? Let It Rock by Kevin Rudolf but, I could do without Lil Wayne in it. -
For me I would want Bret Hart to inducte Austin. Seeing how Austin did it for Hart like you said. Yeah I know FAT chance of that happening.

Wrestler/Belt Combos That Didn't or Wouldn't Look Good
EdwardKnoxII replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in General Wrestling
All of the TNA wrestlers with that small and outdated NWA world title. -
Hell you could say that about any face in any of the WWE cage matches in the last 25 years or so. How often does the face, instead of easily walking out of the cage to win the match, decides to stay in the cage and keep beating on the guy or more often climbs out the cage?

Character Moments That Now Make You Cringe or Shudder
EdwardKnoxII replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in General Wrestling
Here's a classic one that involves Eric Bischoff. *Hogan and Bischoff at backstage and looking into a mirror when the Warrior appears in the mirror* Hogan: I SEE YOU WARRIOR Fans: IT'S THE WARRIOR Announcers: IT'S THE WARRIOR. Bischoff: What are you looking at Hogan I don't see a damn thing. You're crazy. -
http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,13721,00.html R. Kelly Off the Hook in Florida by Lia Haberman Mar 17, 2004, 2:00 PM PT R. Kelly's gonna fly on a technicality. Prosecutors in Florida have dropped 12 charges of child porn against the R&B singer after a judge tossed out shots of Kelly allegedly having sex with an underage girl because the digital pics were illegally seized. The decision not to appeal the ruling of Polk County Circuit Judge Dennis Maloney was announced Wednesday. "These pictures that were found in Mr. Kelly's possession have been suppressed by the court, and the state cannot prove this case without the evidence," prosecutor Bradford H. Copley wrote in the court filing (which can be found online at The Smoking Gun). After a hearing last Thursday, Maloney agreed with Kelly's defense team that county sheriff's detectives lacked enough evidence to justify the search of Kelly's Florida home when they appealed to a judge for a warrant in June 2002. The snapshots were found on a digital camera, which was discovered wrapped in a towel inside a duffel bag. Kelly's attorney, Ron Toward, argued that detectives failed to mention in their probable cause affidavit used to secure the kiddie-porn search warrant that they had already seen the illicit images while looking for evidence of another vice. Deputies searched Kelly's residence after turning up marijuana at another home the embattled entertainer rented for three business associates and which also served as a studio. It was during the drug search that Detective Robert Mateo uncovered a videocamera and an "unusual amount" of "adult video tapes" stashed in a locked room marked "Private, Do Not Enter." He subsequently asked for a second search warrant to look for kiddie porn. Mateo returned to Kelly's Sunshine State residence the next day with a warrant and noted in his report that he found several pictures of two women engaged in sexual acts and other snapshots of Kelly in a sex act with a girl who was allegedly a minor. But attorneys for the Grammy-winning hitmaker argued that Mateo's affidavit for a search warrant was inadequate because it relied on unspecified info from Chicago authorities and failed to make a connection between the discovery of marijuana and the detection of the cameras and child porn. Kelly could have faced up to 60 years in prison if convicted on the Florida charges. While the "Bump 'n' Grind" singer still faces 14 counts of child pornography in Illinois, last week's ruling opened up the possibility of complete vindication. "As I've said before, I am confident that when all the facts are brought out, people will see that I'm no criminal," Kelly said in a statement. He has already scored a victory of sorts in the Illinois case, too. Last month, prosecutors dismissed seven of the original 21 child pornography charges against Kelly in what they called standard pretrial procedure, but what Kelly's camp said was a clear victory on the singer's way to complete exoneration. Kelly's attorneys have since filed motions to dismiss the remaining Illinois charges--the Cook County Circuit Court has yet to issue a decision.

I didn't call the whole sleeping with his sister thing but, I knew whoever he was going to hook up with was going to be messed up cause a) it's Matt and b) on the "last time on Nip/Tuck" they made a point of showing all of Matt's ex's and all the fucked up things about them. Speaking of Matt the actor needs to really shave his beard cause Matt is suppose to be 18/19 years old and looks no younger then 40. I know he's that old in real life but, still.

Well it's MLK day so that means RAW well be opening up with Vince's speech about Dr. King but, this year it will be in HD.

Dude, Walt's not dead he's just cryonically frozen. -
Question wasn't the story that Hulkster In Heaven was based on a Hulk fan that Hogan met that died of cancer but, later it was found out that it was all BS?

Corey told her that he had been cheating on her with Shawn and that he was going to leave her for Shawn.

Speaking of kids I'm wondering does Annie still have that eating disorder or did she get "cured" off screen?
-
Anyone else shocked that they showed the kids if only for a second. When they showed the kids I was thinking "Ok who is that kid with Annie and Wilbur? Oh Conner." And yeah I think the baby would be better off with Matt. I mean even they were getting high at least Matt made sure the baby was ok and wanted to get food, clothes for her. While all Kimber did was get high.

So if Tazz is back on SD who is going to take his place on ECW or is he going to do both?
-
Does Nick still make her show, Zoey 101? And if they do I wonder if they will feel like ending it while they can.
-
Severn actually was in the first round of the tournament...he won his match (can't remember against who), though he did seem to have a tough time fighting within the rules of the tournament. Then the following week they had that promo were he said some BS about "having nothing to prove". I'm pretty sure it was Marc Mero.

This is old news, but the reason why the WWE never did anything with Gunn, was because he knocked out Steve Williams in the Brawl for All. They basically used the Brawl for All as a way to build up "Dr. Death" Steve Williams, because he was a legit tough guy. They wanted him to run through everyone in the Brawl for All, so they can build him up as a legit contender for Steve Austin. Gunn derailed those plans and his reward was to get his face smashed in by Butterbean at WM. Yeah I remember Gunn and JR having some words before the match and then after Gunn knocked out Dr. Death JR got PISSED.

Here is a pic of Ray Stevenson as The Punisher. Anyone else get kinda of a Steven Seagal vibe from that pic? http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=12538
