The One and Only Smallville Thread

Yeah it did seemed rushed and I hate how they just dropped the whole Pete/Chloe thing after one episode. You don't just have him drop the "love" bomb on her and not go with it. Yeah they really havn't done much with Pete this season. I mean as far as the Smallville High gang the storylines are always about Clark/Chole/Lana with Pete in the background or just there. And anytime he does have something it's always dropped. Let's see Pete was involved in that underground street racing and caused that one gang leader to be killed. Then Clark says that it has seriously effect their friendship and that it will never be the same again but, a few eps later Clark and Pete are the best of friends again like nothing happen and the whole street racing thing isn't talked about again. Then Pete tells Chole that he loves her but, then it's dropped. Then out of the blue his parent brake up and then Pete decides to leave Smallville. Like someone said that and the I love you thing just seemed so rushed. At this point they might as while have Pete leave Smallville or kill him off seeing how the writers don't really seem to know what to do with him and he has nothing really going for him cept for knowing about Clark. Hell they had the same problem with Whitney, Lana's ex-boyfriend.
  2. Independence Day Sequel Not In The Works Director reveals the truth..... Director Roland Emmerich recently told SciFi.com that a sequel to Independence Day is not in the works. "Everything sounded like a repeat, and we don't want to do repeats. At least, I don't want to. We went to Fox, who'd already given us money. We said to them, 'Guys, we have to give you your money back.' It's probably the first time that's happened. We're very, very disappointed, but what can you do?" Credit: SciFi.com

    Bradshaw's latest column...

But, seeing how SD's been booked knowing Vince he'll think the low buyrate is because of Eddie and then takes the belt off of him and puts it on JBL.

The Shield, season 3. Official Thread

BTW, did you notice that Avendca (sp?) wife didn't say that she was sorry for the way she was acting to him. I so wanted for David to bitch slap for being such an asshole to him. And as for Mara I can see her buying it before the end of the season AND her mom from the looks of things.

Triple H "confirmed" + Superman News

Yeah with today's effects I would kill to see a GL or Flash movie on the big screen then another Superman movie unless it's with the Smallville cast but, WB being the dumbasses that they are just want to do Batman or Superman and I know alot people are sick of them. It's hard to believe that at one time DC was the one making the big screen hero movies while Marvel couldn't get a decent, money making movie to save their lives. Man how times have change.

Triple H "confirmed" + Superman News

By the time a 2nd Superman movie would be made Fraser would be about 40 years old or older. People would then complain he'd be too old to conitnue on in any sequels. With Welling you have youth as well as the closest look to Supes that I've seen anyone else have barring bringing in some unknown to play him (no one has the big blue eyes that Supes has except Welling which is also a trait that Christopher Reeves had and he *looked* like the character come to life). Who else did you have in mind besides Fraser? Thank you. Welling IS Superman he's got the look and he can act the part. Well the hell the WB doesn't make a Smallville movie I'll never know. They have the movie came out the end of the 5th season and then have it spin off into a Superman series. The only problem is that when Clark does become Superman how in the hell is he going to do that with all the weird shit that has gone on in the town? If he goes out there in the Super suit and someone like Chole or Lex doesn't spot that it's Clark the minute he shows up something is fucked up.

Simple. Cause it was in a kick ass scene in Miami Vice and that one scene made the show.
  9. Big Name Rappers To Appear At WWE Pay-Per View? Not to be confused with the wrestler who pretends to rap... There are rumors making their way through various west coast media outlets that the WWE may bring in some professional rap talent to perform with WWE star John Cena at the Judgement Day pay-per-view in Los Angeles on May 16. The rappers would be used in much the same pre-match fashion as Ice-T was during the Wrestlemania show in Anaheim, CA a few years back. A lot of names are reportedly being kicked around with Snoop Dogg & his 213 crew (Nate Dogg and Warren G.) and members of the Westside Connection (Ice Cube, Mack 10 and WC) leading the way. BULLSHIT. Holly was teaching the kid what happens when you become a bitter, old, never was been which Holly is. The other teachers were trying to teach them about trust and Holly broke it bigtime. And as for trying to teach Matt that wrestling hurts the other teachers did a good job of that and they didn't beat the shit out of him and fuck him up in the first 20 seconds.

    Record Biz Coughs Up Royalties

http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,14029,00.html Record Biz Coughs Up Royalties by Julie Keller May 4, 2004, 1:00 PM PT Just what P. Diddy needs: more Cristal money. His Puffyness, along with such well-heeled music types as Dave Matthews, David Bowie, Dolly Parton, Gloria Estefan and hundreds of other musicians, could soon be getting a little bit richer. In an unusual show of solidarity (though it was, technically, forced), the world's biggest record labels have joined together to pay a whole bunch of recording artists back royalties amounting to more than $50 million. For some of music's big guns, the payout is fairly negligible when you consider their multimillion-dollar bank accounts--Matthews is owed about $14,000, while Bowie will receive about $10,700, according to Rollingstone.com. But that kind of cash could be huge to a number of starving artists. The settlement, announced Tuesday in a press conference by New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, is the result of a two-year investigation into the royalty accounting practices of record companies and music producers. As part of the deal, the five major labels--Universal Music, Sony Music, EMI, BMG and Warner Music--will pool their artist info and post ads to find any performers with whom they may have lost contact in an effort to make good on any unpaid royalties. If the artists can't be found, the money will revert to the state. "Once the recording companies have received royalties, those royalties have to be disbursed to the artists who are owed those funds," Spitzer said at the news conference. While several big-name musicians will benefit from the deal, it could also result in much needed paychecks for one-hit-wonder artists who have disappeared from the music scene. "There are many artists who struggle...They depend on the stream of royalties," Spitzer said. According to Rollingstone.com, in the cases of deceased artists like Waylon Jennings, Dizzy Gillespie and Frank Sinatra, the money will go to their estates. Heirs to the late vocalist Tommy Edward ("Love Is All We Need," "It's All in the Game") are in line to collect one of the larger payouts, about $230,000. The companies have already paid about $25 million in royalties, according to the Los Angeles Times, and they are due to cough up another $25 million in IOU money in the coming weeks. Spitzer's legal maneuver is likely to prompt a major overhaul in the accounting practices of the music biz. Under the terms of the settlement, the companies will also have to report their efforts to Spitzer to make sure they are complying with the deal. For their part, the record companies swear that they didn't intentionally stiff their clients but that many performers move around from label to label so much they are hard to find. "If we can't find people," an anonymous record exec told the Los Angeles Times, "we can't give them a check." Spitzer seemed to agree, saying he's not accusing anyone of shady business dealing--he just wants unpaid musicians to get what they are owed. "It's not like there was a grand conspiracy to cheat them out of these big sums of money," he said. "It was just a failure to do what should have been done. That's why we have this settlement."
  14. 411's WWE Byte This Report: Heenan, Race, Funk Posted By Ashley Nicholas on 05.06.04 Say it ain't so Tommy, say it ain't so! Bobby Heenan anecdote number one: the toothbrush was invented in Kentucky, every other state uses the ‘teethbrush’ Hosts are Tommy Dreamer and Howard Finkel on a special Legends Edition of Byte This! Str8 to Droz, who’s kickin in his two cents Segment One: Droz Who were the legends who Droz watched while growing up? Although he wasn’t such a fan of the WWF he remembers Junkyard Dog and Bobby Heenan. Droz points out how the art of the manager has died out, although is beginning to come back with guys like Teddy Long and Paul Heyman. On whether he ever wanted a manager himself, he says that with the Legion of Doom his manager was Sunny, but he would have loved to have had Paul Ellering. Hopefully the manager days will come back properly, as they add a lot to the wrestling industry. They mention that Fink managed the Bushwhackers for a night and that Dreamer would love to wrestle Paul Heyman! Droz’ thoughts on the match between HBK and Benoit? It was a great match between two of the best in the business. Although he was glad to see Benoit win, it was a shame to see a loser to the match, but in the end the fans were the winners. Dreamer believes that at the moment, the best in the business are holding the title belts, and with both HBK and HHH vying for the title, the main event scene is at the top of its game and makes RAW very enjoyable. Eric from Indiana congratulates Dreamer on becoming a father and asks what it was like being in OVW. It was a great experience and we should be seeing a lot of the guys called up to RAW and Smackdown shortly. As for when Tommy is returning to the ring – he delivers a Byte This Exclusive in that he has been informed by management that his in ring services will no longer be required, and that his contract expires in July. But he is being kept on in a management role and is excited about his new endeavours. Bobby Heenan anecdote number two: he’s been hit with so many chairshots that the top of his head smells of ass. Segment Two: Terry Funk He’s just trying to survive. It was a great experience for him being back in WWE, and the way the boys treated him was wonderful. Fink was impressed with the fact that a lot of guys made an effort to introduce themselves to ‘Mr. Funk’. It was an honour for Funk to be there, He is very impressed with Chris Benoit as the World Champion, and thought his match with HHH was great. Peter from Ontario asks if Terry Funk would commit himself to a reformation of ECW. Funk says he would love to see a reformation, and would love to be a part of it. His thoughts on today’s business as compared to when he was in his prime? Funk says that the wrestlers today are not necessarily better at wrestling, but are certainly better athletes. He also thinks that the recent emphasis on actual wrestling is a good thing for the business, and as long as you have the top guys, there will be nothing but good things for wrestling. Mike from Florida asks about Funk’s relationship with Flair. Although he won’t discuss his personal relationship with Flair, you won’t find a better performer, according to Funk. They discuss Funk losing a piece of his ass at WrestleMania 14, and if Funk was in his prime now, he would like to fight Benoit, HHH, HBK or Kurt Angle. He points out that he has faced 3 generations of the Rock’s family, and thinks Randy Orton could be a big star in the future. Funk thinks it was phenomenal that Tommy Dreamer got to where he did; he busted his tail end and worked harder than most people he knows. Funk doesn’t rule out a return to WWE, and Dreamer wants to book the match of himself, Funk and Mick Foley vs. HHH, Randy Orton and Ric Flair. Bobby Heenan anecdote number three: the ugliest thing on a woman is Gene Okerland. Segment Three: Harley Race! Harley believes that it can’t get much better than being honoured by your peers. Dreamer remembers that he hated Harley Race when he was younger, and paid a lot of money to see him get his ass kicked, but it didn’t happen much. Harley was a mainstay at the old NWA, and believes although many wrestlers say that you haven’t hit the big time until you wrestler at Madison Square Garden, for NWA wrestlers it applied to St. Louis. Eat that Fink! However, Harley thinks anyone who doesn’t believe MSG is at the top of the ball. David from St. Louis asks Harley if he ever wrestled Dick the Bruiser. He wrestled him more times than he can remember, including when he wrestled both Dick the Bruiser and the Crusher in AWA. As soon as he has back surgery, Harley will come after Orton and deliver a left hook. His favourite opponents were anyone who he won the Championship Belt off, including the Funks, Ric Flair and Bob Backlund. Fink remembers Harley coming into the WWF with great credentials, leading to his coronation. Harley remembers chills coming over him at WrestleMania III, as it couldn’t get better than walking out in front of 93,000 people. Bobby Heenan was the only manager who Harley would allow near him, as he was one of the shrewdest. If you needed a break, you could role out of the ring and the Brain would keep the attention of the crowd. Thoughts on today’s industry? Although he believes there isn’t much difference in the ring, he would have liked to not have to wrestle every night and have a little more conversation in the ring instead. Harley believes that as the whole package, Ric Flair brought out the best in him as a wrestler, although wrestling wish, it was either of the Funk brothers. His longest match was 2 hours and 11 minutes. At Harley’s training school you begin from the beginning, learning how to mat wrestle before you take bumps. He has a camp coming up in August (9th-13th), and runs more events than any other organisation except for WWE. Bobby Heenan anecdote number four: calling the Royal Rumble in 1992 was easier than saying his vows. Segment Four: Bobby Heenan Greatest manager in the history of the wrestling business, according to Fink. One of the highest points in his career was being at the Hall of Fame ceremony; he liked the fact that a lot of the wrestlers up there were managed by him at one point in their career. The Brain joined the company in the mid 1980’s, although it wasn’t very straightforward. At the time the company was run by Vince McMahon snr, who told Heenan that the WWF had enough managers, and that although his services weren’t required at that time, Vince would use him sometime in the future. When Heenan found out that one of the WWF managers had passed away, he gave Hulk Hogan a call, who directed him to Vince jnr, who now owned the company. He says that everybody wanted to work for the WWF as that was where the money was to be made. The Brain likes the British fans, as they are always polite, and know just as much about wrestling history as American fans, although they may not understand the American humour. He had a great relationship with Gorilla Monsoon, as it was very natural and not at all forced. He never had any problems with any of the guys he managed, although he preferred to manage ‘real people’ and not wrestlers with unnatural gimmicks. He credits his success to those wrestlers he managed, as if he had ‘ham and eggers’, he wouldn’t have had anything to work with. Heenan isn’t so keen on the female managers of today, as if they cause a good guy to lose a match, the crowd doesn’t want to see them destroyed like they would with a Heyman or a Heenan. He never tried to steal anyone’s ‘heat’, and worked like a manager, but managed like a wrestler. He’s feeling good at the moment; although he’s still having problems with certain words and he needs a new knee. He had fun doing the skit with Mae Young at WrestleMania XX and enjoyed the professionalism of WWE. Heenan doesn’t rule out a return to WWE, as long as the money, the time and the role are right. He believes everyone should get cancer for a year, as it is a humbling experience. Heenan is also impressed with Randy Orton, but would like to manage Vince McMahon on a return to WWE as that way he would never get fired. He thinks Randy has the same stuff as his dad, who was the most underestimated wrestler in the WWF. The Brain preferred broadcasting to managing, as there is no slamming, or getting touched with sweaty hands. He also got to work with Monsoon as a broadcaster, who made his introduction to the announce table easy. Dreamer mentions that he has been doing announcing work recently, and has looked back at old Bobby Heenan tapes, especially the 1992 Royal Rumble. Heenan never really hung out with the other managers, there was no group atmosphere, and everyone was out for themselves. If you were hurt, people would act concerned, but they would want you position. Heenan tries to watch the product as much as possible, although he doesn’t generally make it past 9 o’clock unless he plans to. Bobby Heenan leaves. Dreamer announces a Smackdown spoiler! He will not be challenging Chavo for the Cruiserweight Championship. He believes that although Eddie has a lot of problems, he will triumph over Bradshaw at the Pay Per View. Next week is has the special guests of Bradshaw and Renee Dupree, plus the return of Dr. Tom and Josh Matthews! End of Show. Bobby Heenan anecdote number five: he liked working with Mean Gene as long as he didn’t have to touch him as no one knew where he had been.

Stephanie McMahon directly made the call...

Because Bob has a rep for stiffing rookies which happened to backfire on him and unfortunately didn't end his career. And for one, I give a fuck because its people like Matt Morgan that can built up to tomorrow's top stars if done correctly. A little hard for that to be done if poor ol' Bob wants to take his aggression out on somebody that doesn't know anybody yet. And I'll post whatever I want, thank you very much. Like it has been said Bob Holly has a rep for stiffing rookies and TE guys. And everytime he steps in the ring with one of them something happens. He beat the shit out of Matt C. on TE to teach him a lesson. What that lesson was who the hell knows with someone like Holly. Then he was in a match with Matt Morgan and stiffed his ass. And it seems that Holly has fucked up Matt C. AGAIN to the point were he can't wrestle for the CW title. See the pattern?
  17. From 411: Terri Runnels Talks About Leaving WWE, Her Future, More Posted By Ashish on 05.03.04 Former WWE diva speaks out..... The Voice of Wrestling radio show, www.voiceofwrestling.com, had a big show this past Sunday with special guest, Terri Runnels. Terri was scheduled for the week before, but the hosts had called her twenty minutes late due to a couple segments going a little longer than expected and unfortunately, Terri had prior commitments at that time and was unable to do the interview. She agreed to come back on this week’s program, but not without ragging on hosts Chris Chisum and Brandon Clark for their tardiness the week before. Here are the highlights: - Chris Chisum got the rough end of the badgering by Terri as she tells him he doesn’t know how to treat a woman like Brandon does. - She’s not able to speak much about leaving the WWE due to contract constraints, but she did confirm she left on good terms. - Sorry…Terri’s not jumping to TNA. She kills any speculation on that subject claiming she loves Jeff Jarrett and many of the guys working there, but it’s not in the cards. - There is a possibility she may be starting a reality television show based on dating that is similar to the advice column, “Raw Sex”, she used to write for Raw magazine. If all goes well, the name Terri has planned for the show is “Making it with a Diva”. - As far as the “Plane Flight from Hell” is concerned, Terri says the only embarrassing moment she recalls is Dustin Runnels (formerly WWE’s Goldust) singing love songs to her over the loud speaker. - She defends Ric Flair’s comments that he made during an interview last week regarding the reporter asking whether he preferred being a “heel” or a “face” by stating that maybe the reporter asked the question in some sort of condescending way as if he had actually accomplished things in the business, which in fact he had not. - Terri’s “old school” mentality shows more as she rants about the internet and how it has hurt the business. Shame on those people who open their mouths and shouldn’t. If it was more like the entertainment business where journalists and critics reported more on the real-life things that the wrestlers did outside of wrestling, it would be okay, but why fans would want to know spoilers and what happened before shows air is what she doesn’t understand. - She never felt more pressured as a woman to do things with the WWE compared to the men in the business because she felt it was best on her part to do what the boss asked of her, even if she didn’t necessarily agree with it. - When talks switched to her daughter, Dakota, Terri expressed her feelings on Dakota following in her footsteps and becoming a wrestling diva. Her initial response would probably be “Oh, my dear God, no”, but if Dakota ever came to her and said it was a dream of hers to be in wrestling, Terri would of course support her. Right now, Dakota is going the equestrian route as she show jumps horses and Terri hopes she stays with that! Terri continues with the interview as she also explains why Buh Buh Ray Dudley owes her another trip to the tables, her past as a make-up lady for Larry King Live, and Dustin Runnels himself even interrupts the interview with a phone call for his daughter, Dakota! This 50-minute interview is definitely worth the listen and you can hear it in its entirety, plus other great interviews with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, RVD, Chris Jericho, Sable, DDP, Dustin Runnels, and many more. The Voice of Wrestling airs live every Sunday night from 6-8 EST with a live chat room available to submit your questions for the hosts and guests throughout the show. To Listen to the Terri Runnels Interview: Click Here http://www.voiceofwrestling.com/
  18. Or better yet Stone Cold can come out on his ATV talking about how he's the new law. Then he can offer the girls some drinks and when they don't drink he can give the whole cast Stunners and then JR can pop out yelling STONE COLD. It would be GREAT.
  19. Hey wouldn't it be funny if at the end of the ep Kanyon comes in and Kanyon Cutters all of the cast of Friends and then yells BANG before running off? That would make the show SO much better.
