And afterwords he'll be fed to HHH so he can keep his heat after he loses the belt. -
http://www.stormwrestling.com/021704.html Your Q's and A's February 17, 2004 I was only on the road for a day this week (no house shows) so I don't have much to talk about. I do however have a ton of e-mail so I figured it wouldn't hurt to do another Q and A commentary. Q: What is your favourite match? A: This is such a hard question. I've had so many matches and at least in my eyes so many good ones too. The one that was likely the most fun was a house show match in WCW. I wrestled Terry Funk in his hometown of Amarillo TX. I even did a commentary about this match at the time, because it was so memorable to me. I've been a huge Terry Funk fan years and finally getting to work with him was a dream match in itself but doing it in his home town for the US (Canadian) Heavy Weight Title made it so much better. This was in the heart of my Team Canada days and I had a fair bit of heat, and Terry being Terry, not to mention in Amarillo, TX he was over like Grover. I don't think I've ever wrestled a match with so much crowd heat before or since. The crowd ate up everything we did and when Terry pinned me for the title the crowd went crazy. Q: What's your favourite moment of your career? A: This is an odd one. There are two moments really but they happened at each end of one specific match. The match itself is likely my least favourite moment, which makes this even odder. The match was the WCW New Blood Rising PPV, from Vancouver, BC. I don't want to get into the match itself, let's just say it could not have been booked worse, for the crowd in attendance, and it was the most dreadful experience of my life. The two great moments were my ring entrance for that match and the post match celebration with Jacques Rougeau, and Bret Hart. The ring entrance was my most electrifying; the crowd was a sea of Pro Storm signs and the rush I got that night, from the crowd, I will remember till the day I die. The post match with Bret was equally as memorable. Celebrating with Bret and hearing the crowd cheer despite such a disappointing match still amazes me. I have a picture of the three of us standing in the ring together hanging on the wall of my den and it will likely be the favourite photo I have from my career. Q: Did you ever work with Art Barr? A: No I did not. I never even met Art, despite he and Jericho being close friends. Q: What is your opinion of Teddy Hart? A: I don't know Teddy well and have only seen him wrestle a few times. From my limited experiences with Teddy I would say that he has a ton of potential and talent but is going to need to mature a lot to make it in this industry. Q: Did you ever work for WWE before you worked for ECW or WCW? A: I never did but I did have the chance to. When I was just working local Indies WWE (Then WWF) did a couple TV taping in Saskatchewan and I was offered the chance to be, what we called at the a "squash guy." That wasn't the opportunity I was looking for and turned it down. Q: What happened to William Regal? A: I get this one a lot. William became very ill last February, and despite looking and feeling great now, has not yet received medical clearance to wrestle. Q: What are your thoughts on NWA TNA? A: To be honest I haven't seen their show. I don't have direct TV access. I hope they survive and grow the boys in this industry need as many places to work as possible. Q: What's up with wrestlers and Fanny Packs? A: Okay I realize these things are not a great fashion statement, but if you lived on the road like I do you'd understand their usefulness. We carry a lot of stuff on the road with us. We have a wallet, passport, keys, rental car keys, usually a protein bar, a cell, phone, MP3 player, camera, not to mention at least 2 currencies at all times. Pockets don't cut it, especially when you travel through airports 3 or 4 times a week. Airport security is a pain in the ass, the fanny pack makes it simple to just unclip all of your metal objects and place them in the plastic bin. Simple is best! Q: Blondes or Brunettes? A: Oddly enough I've never been with a blonde. My wife is a Brunette leaning towards a red head, so you do the math. Q: When you win a belt do you get to keep the faceplate or name plate as a memento? A: I think at one point you did. I know Candito had a Tag Title face plate after his Skip and Zip tag run. We don't now, anyway. Some guys get replica belts of titles they've held as mementos, but they do that one their own. Q: What are your thoughts on the Janet Jackson/Super Bowl incident? A: I think everyone made too big of a deal out of it. She did it for publicity and that's what everyone gave her. The best thing anyone could have done was, said she shouldn't have done it and ignored it. I doubt anyone watching hadn't seen a boob before, and if she doesn't get any press out of it chances of anyone doing it again decreases. People are willing to do a lot more than flash a boob, to get half the press that she got. Well that's another batch for this week. Keep those e-mails coming. Till next week, Lance

Well tonight is the debut of The Simple Life with Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie moving into an Arkansas farm and doing the farming thing. At first I wasn't going to watch but, with everything that has happened and the previews do you funny, I'm going to give it a shot or two. And besides you know the show is going to do great in the ratings because of what has happened with Hilton. So how about everyone else?

411's WWE Byte This Report: Chavo, Rey Mysterio Posted By Ashley Nicholas on 02.19.04 The current and former Cruiserweight champions face off on an action packed Byte This! (warning: teaser may not be entirely truthful) A correction to begin with. Last week the name of a caller was misspelt. Her correct name is Aryana, and I apologise for the mistake. Hosts are Josh Matthews and the real SAT’s, Hugo Savinovich and Carlos Cabrera. Begin with footage of Shane and Eric Bischoff and the through the announce table moment. The hosts talk about No Way Out and how it was Hugo’s first time there – although the same could be said for Jim Ross. Carlos adds that it's like the Superbowl. To be at MSG is like the Mecca for wrestlers, wrestling fans and announcers alike. Both Carlos and Hugo are excited to be in the same place for WrestleMania XX as where it originally began. Segment One: Droz Joined by Droz, who’s feeling a lot better, although he’s tired of all the hospital visits. He’s looking forward to going on holiday with his family. Carlos wants to go along as well and informs Droz that they have a budget to eat pizza at Byte This! Droz’ thoughts on NWO? He didn’t know that a couple of the matches were taking place. Although he really enjoyed the show, he would have liked to see Rey win the title. For Droz the best part of the show was to see Eddie come away with the belt. His thoughts on the fans at the Cow Palace? They were great and behind the wrestlers all the time. In the next column on WWE.com will be NOW thoughts plus an update on where Droz has been. Droz leaves. Hugo notices that Josh is piling on the pounds a little, who replies that it’s difficult to not eat the pizza in the Byte This studio. Josh mentions that Tazz has been a big influence on his announcing, and is like a mentor. Josh has also visited Michael Cole’s two room apartment, which only has two rooms. On his extra-curricular media activities – Carlos has been a news anchor for a number of shows, but you can also hear him on adverts for Coca Cola and ESPN. Fans of WWE seem to notice the SAT’s everywhere they go. Carlos says that they have a distinct advantage – they both love the business and are able to get their appreciation for the show across on television. Carlos appreciates Hugo for his great knowledge as he knows the moves and the techniques of the wrestlers in the ring. Their favourite WrestleMania moment? It's a dream come true to be there, according to Hugo. To see the reality of Hogan vs. McMahon was his favourite, although he's still waiting for the cheque after Hogan hit him with the chair! He didn't feel his head for three days. Before Hardcore matches were popular in the WWE, Hugo points out that they were doing it in Puerto Rico, barbed wire matches were particularly brutal. He respects the different styles of wrestling though. Carlos has enjoyed all the WrestleMania moments. This year will be no exception - they keep getting better. Although RAW and the monthly PPV’s are shown, on whether Mexico will someday to get Smackdown, Hugo says the power of the fans will make it happen. WWE is both family and action oriented, and maybe the best programme on television! However, for the first time, the WWE is coming to Mexico! It will be a RAW brand show, with special guests Chavo and Rey Mysterio in a rematch from NWO. You can get the tickets from the Spanish section of WWE.com. On the future of Hispanics in wrestling, and how they will affect the business, Hugo says that he and Carlos recently had a private conversation with Jim Ross. In the not too distant future, they will be looking for young Spanish talent. In fact, they already have one on contract – the son of Carlos Colon, who will is working in OVW as Carlos Colon Jr. Their advice is to work hard in the gym, get a good attitude and that there is money to be made in this business. Hugo believes that the Spanish style vs. the American style is a good combination as both bring something different to the table. Concerning which Spanish Announce Table accident has been the most memorable, Carlos chooses Mick Foley, in his Hell in a Cell match. Hugo adds that every time wrestlers attack each other near the table the situation becomes very dangerous. A video clip of Kane vs. Shane McMahon at Survivor Series is shown. Hugo says that the Announce Table is not a place to be if you're scared! Carlos points out that getting used to the table bumps would not be good, as you may become complacent, which could end up badly. Josh’s opinion of Byte This producer Phil Speers? He’s a great guy, although most would not agree. Segment Two: Rey Mysterio Joined by Rey, who feels good to have his second cover of WWE Magazine in 2 years. He never had the opportunity to be on the cover of WCW Magazine. It's pretty good to be Rey at the moment. He adds that it’s not only himself who is responsible for his achievement, but the fans as well. Hugo believes that WWE and Rey a good combination, and that from what he saw – WCW did not treat him correctly. The SAT’s and Rey speak some Spanish here, which I'm afraid I don't understand, give me a German wrestler any day. Ha. Unfortunately Josh looks as perplexed as me. On the rematch in Mexico with Chavo Guererro, Rey believes it is a great opportunity to retain the belt in Mexico, but only if he If he doesn't have the belt at the time. It will be a great place to wrestle, and the WWE has not even opened up business there. Is Rey a boxing fan? He is a long time fan, and to have “Boxer guy” represent him in his corner, it was a great honour. Business was taken care of, Chavo Senior was knocked out quick, but unfortunately was taken out, and the title was lost. Rey doesn’t blame anyone except for himself though. He was foolish to turn his back on the veteran Chavo. On whether Rey thinks his position in the Cruiserweight division will limit him – he says he is more than happy there, but if the opportunity arose he wouldn’t think twice about going for the US, Tag or World Titles. He adds that WrestleMania – whichever position he’s in – will be off the hook, a night to remember. While Rey would like to put Chavo and his father through the SA table right now – Carlos picks Eric Bischoff. Rey says Edge is doing well, he spoke to him about a week ago, and is training for his in ring return. Rey leaves. Hugo mentions that you have to be crazy to be an announcer but also be able to call a match well, with enthusiasm. Segment Three: Chavo Guerrero Jr. Joined by Chavo! Josh is hesitant about congratulating him on his victory – due to its tainted nature. Chavo takes that as hypocrisy, as Josh would have congratulated Eddie, had he done the same thing. Chavo is feeling great being Cruiserweight Champion – and points out to Josh that his win loss column will have a big W, and nothing more. Chavo isn’t bothered about who he fights at WrestleMania – he wants to be part of the event and will take on anyone. Chavo says the surgery to his left bicep went really well, and actually feels stronger than his right, which hasn’t been injured at all. Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery, and Chavo believes he is the best in the world. On the difference between American, Lucha and Puro fans – Chavo says the Japanese are more respectful, and are not as likely to get up on their feet and scream, like WWE fans. Mexican fans are more likely to cheer for headscissors and back drops – high flying moves. They namecheck Chavo’s father and Grandfather, Chavo senior and Gory Guererro. Chavo says that his Grandfather was a big inspiration, and played the role of a heel well. He also competed for three heavyweight championships in one year, and took the champions to a 60 minute draw on each. On what the future holds for Chavo Guerrero – he wants to continue what he’s doing and become more of a dominant force in WWE. Chavo leaves Guests next week are Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit! End of Show.

WWE Weekend Ratings & RAW Details More ratings news... - RAW did a 3.8 rating off hours of 3.6 and 3.9 this week. That is about the same rating as last week. The highest rated segment was a 4.4 for the overrun. - Velocity did a 0.5; Confidential did a 0.5; Heat did a 1.0. Credit: PWInsider.com

Royal Rumble Delivers Strong Buyrate Good news for WWE going into WMXX.... The Royal Rumble brought in about 485,000 buys or a .90 buyrate which comes in above WWE's projected 475,000 buys for the show. The number is below 2003's Royal Rumble which did 515,000 buys. Of course, after the final tally is in, the 2004 Rumble should finish at roughly the same level as the 2003 Rumble. The positive Rumble buyrate seems to indicate good interest in WrestleMania XX which WWE is somewhat paranoid about right now. Many are pointing out that WMXX does not have the killer main event that it may need to not only live up to the hype, but also to pull in a lot of buys at a high $49.95 price. News & Highlights From WWE's Third Quarter Conference Call The Rock's return, WWE had their regular conference call today to discuss third quarter results. CFO Phil Livingston and CEO Linda McMahon handled the comments and questions. Below are the highlights: - Linda McMahon pushed WWE's new deal with UPN for Smackdown and the recent "Smackdown in Iraq" show. - Linda said that the "Escape The Rules" and "Smack Your TV" marketing campaigns are the latest way for WWE to seperate the brands. She added that 70% of the fans only watch RAW or Smackdown, not both. Thus they are looking for ways to cross promote the brands. - Linda said that the WWE Originals CD has sold 142,500 copies thus far and that the total is more than they expected to sell. She also added that WWE will be releasing more DVDs that take advantage of their tape library, much like the Ric Flair DVD. - Linda said that live event business is soft and that the company needs to work on improving it. - Phil Livingston went over the financial numbers and said that revenue was down mainly because the third quarter of 2003 only had two PPVs while last year the quarter had three. - When asked about the Rock working WrestleMania, Linda said to stay tuned for news on "guest celebrities" and did not mention the Rock's name. - Linda said ratings are now stable and PPV buyrates are increasing. - When asked if high ticket prices are the reason for the decline in the live event sector, Linda said that they lowered ticket prices this year but have not seen any increase. She said that attendance for PPVs has improved and that RAW and Smackdown attendance will improve before live event attendance does. - Linda said that WWE is focusing on "internal business" right now but always keeps its eyes open to other opportunities. Well since it was during the time Spike was dating Molly I'm guessing in storyline terms Spike was thinking about bending Molly over the bed and tapping that big, sweet ass. But, don't we all.

So I guess that means Damien going to comeback dressed like a biker, riding a cycle with a Kid Rock song talking about how this is his yard.

This happened on RAW in, I think 2000, The Hardy Boyz were facing Head Cheese. During the match Steve Blackman and Jeff Hardy were trading blows when all of a sudden Matt Hardy gets on the top rope and jumps to nail Blackman. The only problem was Blackman wasn't in place and Matt completely misses the move and looks like a fool. Blackman looks back and how this "Aw shit I screwed up" look on his face. So he quickly goes to pick up Matt and Matt rolls him up for the pin. It just happened so fast that it was to funny.

Yeah as much as I love the show I do hate the cliffhangers but, it does how built up the wait for the new season. Question I know now a days it's common for hour long shows to end their seasons with cliffhangers but, I've notice that it seems that comedies are now doing it. I can understand an hour long show but, I really see now reason for a half hour comedy to do something like that.

I don't know about anyone else but, if the WM 3-way match was a elimnation match I wouldn't have a problem with it cause Benoit would have to beat BOTH HBK and HHH.
-
^^Yeah no kidding. As a kid those Croft shows scared the shit out of me and a few times gave me nightmares. I don't know what it is the puppets, the funky ass costumes the humans would wear but, it looks like a LSD trip.
-
You know what this means. Benoit will have lost 2 world championship feuds in a row. He loses to Brock and can't get another shot and then he takes his tail and runs to RAW were he loses to HHH.

Geez Triple H doesn't want to job. What a shock.

Darabont Speaks On Indiana Jones IV Script So what is up with Indy? Frank Darabont, the man who wrote the original script for Indiana Jones IV, recently spoke with Aintitcool.com about why George Lucas has delayed the movie and wants the script rewritten: "The short and simple version of the INDIANA JONES 4 situation is that after more than a year of working closely with Steven Spielberg developing the story, I had completed a screenplay that Steven loved and was hoping to shoot in July of this year. However, George Lucas had issues with the script and slammed on the brakes in order to rework the material himself. There is talk of enlisting another writer. Given that George is the producer, but even moreso because of their long and close friendship, Steven is deferring to George in this situation. It is now up to them to try to find a common ground regarding the film. I wish them luck and hope their efforts result in something they're both excited about shooting. What, if anything, might remain of my work at the end of the process is anybody's guess, assuming the film even gets made at this point. As for me, I'm disappointed, but I'm putting the experience behind me and moving on with my life and my own projects." Credit: Aintitcool.com
