Oh I guess I didn't realize it doesn't say WWE cameras... so maybe it's just for their show. That's why I put it as Smackdown! spoilers... oops. Someone can edit the title since the real spoilers will probably need their own thread.

A lot of old wrestling fans from the Attitude era I know who have stopped watching except for the occasionall pay per view event at my house were all pretty big into the first Ultimate Fighter, resulting in us getting the UFC with Liddell/Couture ppv. Thus, I could see them drawing a decent rating with this event without hurting the RAW rating much, if at all. Also, by this time Monday Night Football will be back... that's a lot of competition for the same target audience.

The Bashman!

Yea really we've been over Holly's overness many many times on here. Don't you hear his pops EVERY week? They are always monster.

And I can't let that pass without mentioning that moment leading to one of the greatest quotes ever (;-)), "YOU MADE ME DANCE FOR SIX MONTHS!!!!!!" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah yes, the infamous Albert heel turn. It was filmed for Heat or Jakked, I don't remember but I was there. I was booing the hell out of Albert at the time (although I've come around to him) and yet the marks sorrounding me loved that hip hop hippo. So of course once Albert turned, I kept screaming "HOW DO YOU LIKE YOUR PRECIOUS ALBERT NOWWWWWWWWW?" and my friends had to calm me down. I've probably told the story before. I believe the Godfather turned heel on the same show for no reason. I think it was the first B show of the brand extension for Smackdown! Also, I actually remember watching that X-Factor HeAT episode the day before the ECW return. IIRC, they didn't officially breakup then. It was just that at the time Albert was IC champ and X-Pac Light Heavyweight, and the two champs kept talking about how great their belts looked with their backs turned to Credible as he tried to peak in jealously. I think they gave him one of those replica wrist-sized belts you can order as a gag. So yes, there was X-Factor tension that night in WWF NY, but I really don't think they officially broke up then. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> actually the albert turn did air on smackdown IIRC (and wasnt it the first post split sd?) . I have it on tape so I might check that for ya when I get a chance. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Searching for recaps, you are correct that the Albert turn did happen on Smackdown! However, Godfather's turn was on the Smackdown! B show at the time.

There is no need for this burial of Jordan.

When's the sale? -
Man, my Thursday nights ever never gonna be the same. I really will not know what to do with myself without Smackdown! I for one am looking forward to the new Friday Night Smackdown! since it will provide an adequite chance to pre-game before a night's antics of going out.

Shhhh, we aren't supposed to remember that far back.

Fuck it, I gotta buy this or at least go into Borders and read this one.

Toronto is fuckin' gangsta apparently
claydude14 replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Current Events
I like Toronto as a tourist, but not all the bums. Except for the guy that plays electric guitar under the bridge next to the ACC, he rocks. -

Velocity is probably the best WWE weekly show currently. TNA is taking their timselot in October I believe.

I didn't hear about Heat and Velocity going syndicated but I did hear that Afterburn and Bottom Line were cancelled, so this would make sense.

I was the only one in the room of people watching RAW with me that recognized Torrie's music immediately, and began going nuts as they were my Smackdown! divas. I was worried they just jumped ship but then they announced "trade." So I was hoping maybe Hurricane and Tajiri, you know Womens division for Cruserweight division competitors. Then it is announced that it's Christy and Stacy. This is ridiculous. Christy showed signs of promise in the ring and would be good to have in the division if it ever returns; and Stacy is at least competent. Candice I don't think has ever wrestled, and Torrie never showed anything against Dawn Marie or Hiroko etc. What will Christy do on Smackdown!? become The Sunny of LOD 2005 with the flame outfit? Will Stacy forgive Randy for the RKO before Wrestlemania? Will the WWE even remember this?!! Please feel free to give your thoughts on the character direction of all four ladies.

You should. It's the best live wrestling expierence in America. I've been to nearly 100 WWE/WCW/ECW shows and none of them could match the 5 ROH shows I've been too. That list includes 10 PPV's including a WM. The 10/15 show will be part of a double shot weekend, with Cleveland hosting it's first event ever for ROH (Yours truely will be attending this show) the night before. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm sure it'd kill the Great American Bash from Buffalo this year

I'm a Nintendo fanboy myself and keep wanting to jump on the DS bandwagon with all the innovative stuff coming out, but I have yet to bring myself to do it. Mario Kart and Amial Crossing DS will however push me over the line. Hopefully there's a bundle with a game for Christmas time.

From the "What ever happened to..." department
claydude14 replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in General Wrestling
I was in NYC in May 04 for a Sr. class trip and we drove past the old WWF NY in our bus. I got some pictures through our bus window; all that was left was the scrolling Marquee which switched between RAW and SPIKE TV logo and the Smackdown! and UPN logo with appropriate time slots. Also, there's a WWE store in Niagra Falls. I've never been there though, so I'm not sure if it's a restaurant. -
Holy shit I wish I knew they had a card in Buffalo. Looks like it's a frequent stop though, I'll try and go to the October show. I would love to see ROH live.

The Evolution of the WWE Viewing Audience
claydude14 replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in The WWE Folder
I don't have much to comment on the thread but I'd just like to say that I'm impressed with deinly1 for taking all the criticisms he was handed and went on to have an intelligent discussion with proper grammar and all. Good for you to move past the flaming and add to the discussion, kudos. -
How about Doug Basham on Velocity? Loving his new look.

Can we talk about the Trade a little more?

I've got to say that as a Smackdown! fan I am dissapointed that this thread is longer than it's average, but I don't even post in the Smackdown! threads so I can't complain. I knew this trade was huge news when it was first revealed. -
Yea I caught that Byte this. I thought it was weird they'd spoil part of Smackdown! like that.

I asked him when Doug and or Danny would be back on TV again.
