Wrestling Observer Notes are back like Jordan wearing the 45
claydude14 replied to BUTT's topic in The WWE Folder
H is a business man. HHH/Cena II is a much more lucrative main event than HHH/Orton. Put Cena over, let him keep winning and do HHH/Cena III at Summerslam with H finally going over. -
My favorite X-Factor memory is when they were the in studio guests on HeAT. I think it was like the day before the ECW stuff happened; and Albert was IC champ with X-Pac Light Heavyweight, and those two were just admiring each other's belt's as Justin Credible tried to peak over their shoulders to see what was up. I think they gave him a wrist sized world title replica so that he wouldn't feel left out. I always reasoned that the way X-Factor treated Justin Credible caused the ECW invasion to happen.

Well that dude lost any chance of scoring with Big Dave's daughter. What a fucking pussy. -
I kinda feel the wide shots in SD don't show as much of the ring as they used to. Like it used to be rope to rope, now it's slightly less.

It will take at least 5 years to even have enough HD filmed content for a 24/7 HD. -

Not true.. the market I'm in is small(Little Rock) and our CW station is in HD. #57 out of 210 The Rochester NY CW has CW HD. Is this another small market that's in HD or is your number just off? Our Tim Warner doesn't have USA or Sci-Fi HD though. No matter. Smackdown! Also, say I download an HD version of a WWE torrent- will that actually make a difference on a computer resolution or not? I think that was the question brought up earlier but I didn't see it addressed enough in a way that answered the question. -
I really don't want them to do anything more with 'Stone Cold' Sharkboy. With Russo at the helm it will just be another Black Machismo type gimmick. Sharkboy is fine as Sharkboy.

I think K-Fed realizes he needs to be a sane person and stay far away from Britney at the moment. -
Shark Boy is Steve Austin! I knew it all along.

Shark Boy is getting more segments than Angle! It's great.

The new sets are probably for HD trons. -
The whole Harris thing reeks storyline sell. I doubt WWE even has interest.

For me, TNA is totally entertaining as I watch it, but totally forgettable afterward. I just can't remember why anyone is feuding with anyone, who they are feuding with, and what generic and forgettable pay-per-view happens in what month. It's my #2 brand behind Smackdown!/ECW.

Cena Vs. Flair?

As someone out of the loop on comics that just heard about this horrible storyline all over the internet; I have to ask what you mean when you speak of Wolverine having a play in this in the future?

Ok that's what spent, but how much is getting earned? -
I'm not totally in love with the move, but it's another one where the White Sox obtain a pretty low risk-high reward player, and one that's MLB ready and about to hit his prime to boot. Quentin, Ramirez and Swisher have all been great aquisitions (I do not trust any pitcher coming out of the White Sox farm to be much, although I think DSL could be something special, but most likely a good set up man or closer rather than a SP). The Swisher trade has potential to look bad years from now, but it makes the White Sox better in 08' which is what they are going for (even though on paper it may not make sense to do so against a hugely upgraded Tigers team and fresh from the ALCS Indians, but this is what GM Kenny Williams has said he wants to do). I don't think Sweeney's ceiling is above an average-mediocre player (maybe a little better in the NL) and Gio has been traded 4 times, so that doesn't really scream anything but a 4 or 5 starter for me, plus there are height concerns. Following the pretty eh O. Cabrera for Garland and Linebrick signing moves (which obviously were made when KW for some reason thought Torii Hunter and M. Cabrera acquisitions could actually go through); KW has actually been making some pretty decent moves if you ask me, setting up a decent, cheap core of Danks-Jenks-Fields-Richar-Quentin-Ramirez-Swisher (I do not want to include Gavin Floyd in this mix, although I suppose he could turn out, and I'm not high on Richar either) which could even see Quentin/Fields/Swisher replacing Konerko/Thome/Dye in the 3/4/5 spots in the future. Do I believe the White Sox can contend with Detroit and Cleveland (let alone NY, BOS and the Angels) in 08? Not really, unless Danks and Floyd pitch out of their minds and Contreras suddenly reverts to an ace or at least average pitcher again. But I think Kenny Williams is realizing this too, and you can't deny that he has a nice young major league ready core to develop here; with spending money leftover for next off-season (that $75 Million slotted for Hunter can come into play to fill in some missing pieces). The White Sox farm may be pretty bare. But we aren't in horrible shape yet. Detroit only really has a two year window and their aging players are just as old as ours, whose to say their core doesn't have an 07' White Sox type performance? Whose to say we don't sling some of our aging vets at the trade deadline this year to help restock for 09 and beyond? Anything can happen in baseball.

Swisher will absolutely tear it up playing half his games in the Cell. Bank on it.

I picked up the year one DVD. The main feature was somewhat interesting, but they spent way too much time on how TNA came together rather than review actual storylines/feuds of the first year. I did love that Cheex was an integral part of the feature though.

Also Sting probably had a WCW home video released where he was interviewed. I know I owned a Kevin Nash (!!!) of all people WCW home video release which was about an hour or two of career-retrospective involving the most recent years. That's a VHS I need to capture to my computer. But anyways, if Sting had one of those they could easily take a lot from that as far as that section; you know and then all his peers for the other parts. -

I remember the 4 Real shirt, no idea what was on the back. -
Batista was accompianed to the back after a long while too. Probably a good sell though.

Dead serious. That James/Lashley clone match was a goddamn abortion. James fucked up a hammerlock powerslam by breaking away from the hammerlock and FLAILING HIS INJURED ARM AROUND. He did this for a good two seconds before PUTTING IT BACK IN THE HAMMERLOCK like we wouldn't notice. Also, note that the live crowd was given no explanation for Chavo's run-in whatsoever. Whatever he said to Punk in the ring we couldn't hear. It's totally their fault on that one, we were hot as hell coming out of the end of Smackdown and then the long stall for ECW's set up (complete with them draping curtains over the back 2 screens while simultaneously breaking the feed on the four central screens, giving everybody just the screen above the ECW entrance to look at) with that god-awful match to "re-ignite" us...we were absolutely dead for Punk/MVP which came across as completely awful live. You summed it up nicely. Smackdown! was awesome. The break was too much. For those unaware as how thse tapings work, they film Smackdown in about 1:30-1:40 then wait; in this case over 40 min for ECW to go Live. They teased going live with the classic live crowd shot commercial promo on Sci-Fi then gave us a bad dark match that killed the crowd. I bought my ticket today mainly for MVP/Punk and couldn't even sit through it. I was exhausted from marking out enough for Smackdown! and mainly yelling "COME ONNNNNNN REFF!" and also "FESTUS IS A BRUTE" during dead silence in that match. Section 224. Good times.

Oh yea, Dusty finish in the main- Batista pins a major to "win" the belt before its reversed and match restarted by Vikki who says the title can only change hands if Edge is pinned (it's 3 on 1 handicap).
