Some TNA Notes From Jason Powell's VIP Update
Sandman9000 replied to BoboBrazil's topic in TNA Wrestling
Well, I'd imagine that Japan is still an option for most of those guys. I know Punk has worked Zero-One recently, in terms of people on your list, and they've mentioned that D'Lo's going to AJPW soon. So, it doesn't completly help out ROH, and it means that TNA won't have them 52 weeks a year either. -

In excellent news, B-Boy has been confirmed for the TPI, also meaning he won't be retiring, at least for the time being. This brings the confirmed list up to 19, with 5 spots still open. -
Huh, Christians offended over something trivial. Must be Friday.

I used to. It was accurate in telling me when I was going to have a shitty day. Of course, whenever it told me I was going to have a great day, I had a shitty day. So I stopped.

TSM Poster Tournament II

Cutthroat -
No. It'd be insanely easy as hell. As it'd be on GC. Need I say more? Then it's not a Battletoads game.... that's what we need again these days. An insanely difficult game that frustrates even the most battle hardened veteran. It's called Ikaruga.

Who knows, it looks like there is another wrestler who owns Hero's heart.... -
Bah, it's supposed to hit me. I ain't scared, I can take it. Classes are still on for tomorrow, and I doubt they'll be cancelled. Looks like the poor little sorority bitches will get their ignorant asses soaked walking to class/bar tomorrow.

It'd probably be just me doing one. I think the other guys would rather have sharp objects dug into their forehead. Depending on how badly I feel like hating my life at the time, I think I'd be up for it. Person who sends me the tape also has to pay for my blood transfusion later, though.

2003 IWA-MS Ted Petty Invitational Thread
Sandman9000 replied to Sandman9000's topic in General Wrestling
Last six people, let's have some fun, I'll say Corp (who can actually wreslte, and will prob just serve a job boy for someone), Nate Webb, Ken Anderson, Frankie Kazarian, Brad Bradley, and Adam Flash. I'm going under the assumption that Homicide, B-Boy, and Ace Steel won't be participating. If B-Boy does decide to return to wrestling, put him in and take Flash out. -
2003 IWA-MS Ted Petty Invitational Thread

NEW INFO WARRANTING A BUMP~! IWA Mid-South Hardcore Wrestling will present its second annual Ted Petty Invitational Tournament (formerly known as Sweet Science Sixteen during 2000 and 2001) on Friday and Saturday night, November 7th and 8th. This two night 24 man single elimination scientific wrestling tournament will take place at Salem High School, located at 700 N. Harrison Street in Salem, Indiana. Bell time each night is 7:30pm Central. Tickets are $50 for a two night weekend pass for first and second row. The Updated List: #1: Colt Cabana #2: Chris Hero (2000 Sweet Science 16 Winner) #3: Jimmy "Hussboy" Jacobs #4: Chris "Hail" Sabin #5: Jonny Storm #6: Trent Acid #7: A.J. Styles #8: Danny Daniels (IWA-MS Heavyweight Champion) #9: Sonjay Dutt (IWA-MS LightHeavyweight Champion) #10: Nigel McGuinness #11: Truth Martini #12: Matt Stryker #13: JC Bailey #14: Alex Shelley #15: Dino Bambino #16: BJ Whitmer (2002 SS16/TPI Winner) #17: Jimmy Rave #18: Jerry Lynn #19: B-Boy #20: ? #21: ? #22: ? #23: ? #24: ? Interesting to note that B-Boy, Ace Steel, and Homicide were originally announced for the show, and now are not booked. Homicide might have Z-1 bookings, B-Boy's contemplating retirement (hopefully he'll reconsider), and who knows about Indy Benoit. Winner? Eh, with IWA-MS's past history of tournys, Whitmer's the safe choice. My pick, however, is Alex Shelley, and this could be the springboard used to vault him past his status as "that guy who wrestles the guy with the furry boots" and into awareness. For a guy who's hasn't been wrestling a long time, he's awesome, and a win here would go wonders towards establishing him. Ye thoughts again? -
And every single one of those words is "no."

De Card: 12 Man Tourny For The CZW Iron Man Belt Vacated by "Sick" Nick Mondo Adam Flash Mafia Ruckus Kendo Ka Shin (All Japan Pro Wrestling) Tony Mamaluke Trent Acid Johnny Kashmere Nick Berk Hardcore Nick Gage Sonjay Dutt Jimmy Rave Nate Hatred Finals is a 20 minute 3-way Iron Man match. Derek Frazier vs. Deranged Unsanctioned, Untaped, UnF'nBelievable Messiah vs. Zandig (Match will not be taped for Fake You TV, nor will be distribued by Smart Mark Video.) Little armchair booking for the Iron Man tourny: Kashin d. Rave (armbars fo every1!) Mamaluke d. Kashmere Mafia d. Berk Flash d. Ruckus Acid d. Sonjay Gage/Hatred No Contest Kashin d. Mamaluke Flash d. Mafia Flash d. Acid & Kashin Course, I'm going under the assumption that Flash will then job the belt to B-Boy next month. Frazier/Deranged will either be a good spotfest or a bad trainwreck. As for the whole Messiah/Zandig match, their goal is to increase attendance at VH. However, this seems like it's gone about the wrong way. I think they're trying to build speculation that they might use barbed wire and lighttube, but at most the HIV will drag Zandig away and use that stuff on him in the back, away from the crowd and show it over the Tron. As for no commercial release, I imagine that this will find its way to a video tape sooner then later. Other matches, I doubt it, 10 scheduled (9 in my predictions) matches for the Iron Man tourny, one guaranteed to go 20 minutes, and then 2 matches after that makes for 11/12 matches, a complete card, maybe another filler match with students and Knoxx, Cash, etc.... Thoughts?

Aside from that both Christ and Zandig were suspended off the ground by sharp objects, there is no connection. The way they were impaled and suspended is different, the reasons for their suspensions is different. Zandig was not even crucified. His arms are not even involved in his hanging. Again, what he went through was called a "suspension," and WHACKS, the CZW photographer, and other performance artists have done it before. The fans wanted to see WHACKS do such a suspension at COD4, and Zandig took it instead. And for whatever reason, they bait-and-switched the fans at Redefined and had Zandig suspended again. Zandig was not implied to be a martyr. It was an angle designed to get HIV more over as heels, and was promoted initally as a way to try and get more fans into Viking Hall, one that looks like it has backfired horribly. Essentially Barber, you're trying to make a connection where there simply isn't one. That both Zandig and Christ were hung off the ground by sharp objects isn't strong enough to support your argument. I could say that anyone who was lynched had a similar connection to Christ since both died by hanging off the ground, but I would be wrong. And as for your "taking a piss on a picture of the Twin Towers" comment, I think everyone here, including yourself, can agree that comment was way out of line.

Injury's legit as far as I know, Mike Johnson over at 1bob said that Kashmere went to the hospital to have a knot on his head checked out.
-
I'm guessing Rave was supposed to go over, or at least tie Acid possibly. I'm guessing Acid/Rave for next month, which will allow Acid to bury Rave for good.

I don't like parties period, so one thrown in my honor, especially a surprise one, usually turns into a surprise party thrown without a guest of honor.
-
I break out my death metal growl, that usually works. The threatening to skullfuck them part is the kicker. In the rare event that fails, I sing the end of "Cemetary Gates." No one can survive my rendition of that.

I know I came off as pessimistic as shit (well, it's also because i am in real life), but it's because I like CZW, and I want to see this company doing well. And I look on the fan board and I see nothing but negativity and bitching and the dreaded phase "I'm never going to see another CZW show," and that their complains actually have some legitimate background, and it just makes me wonder what the hell is going on with CZW at times. I want to do the company do well, but to see themselves shoot themselves in the foot like this, it hurts. The first 2/3's, 3/4's of the show could have been SOTY quality, but the last part just pulls everything down into the gutter, and the last thing a person sees is what sticks to their mind the strongest.
