Last week one of the cooks at work squirted a waitress in the eye with vinegar. Good times.

Limblifter's "I/O" hasn't got much attention yet, despite being a really good record.

Uh, this guy hasn't been in Iraq yet. Frankly, skipping out of his duty, especially this way, is pretty damn cowardly. Yeah, he hasn't been in Iraq yet, maybe things will be peachy keen once he gets there. I guess moral revulsion takes a back seat to these sorts of things...

We're not? Isn't that the basis of this soldier going AWOL? He's a coward for not wanting to be thrown into a situation where he's killing innocent civilians? I can imagine many more are feeling those sentiments, given the mess they are in, and the many who were forced to stay after their contracts ran out. A group of soldiers are already filing lawsuits. Yeah, what a pussy! Passing up bombing the shit out of innocent civilians is SO cowardly! Excuse me while I crack open a six pack. USA! USA! USA! So I ask you again, when would it acceptable to say no? Obviously your inability to answer the theoretical question speaks volumes. Is the word ethics erased when it comes to these sorts of things? Or should they just go along with whatever their govenrment tells them because it's a 'just cause', not like they'd be mis-led or anything, heavens no. The Germans used this ideology quite well at one point. Now, i'll await for you to go on a tangent about how clueless I am about the military in a vain attempt to try and justify the moral implications of going to war, or any soldier who has the balls to take a stand up against his country and say 'no more'.

The new Tea Party was sub-par.

Ok, theoretically, if you were a soldier and were called on to invade a country with the sole purpose of maintaining miltary power and exploiting energy reserves, would you have a moral objection to it? (You don't have to believe that this is happening in Iraq, but imagine it was another third world country in the East) If not, when, if ever would it be acceptable to say no? If the army requested you to bomb a tiny village in South America maybe? Somewhere along the line the definition of ethics becomes distorted. Your country has an obligation to not put their soldiers in harms way for unjustifiable means. And yes, backdoor drafts are occuring (see above article)

Old Soldiers Back On Duty

Good for him. Traditionally, if you have an obligation to serve your country, you do so without question. That shouldn't be a reason to sacrifice your personal values and ethics however. It's no wonder why many more soldiers are realizing that this war is unjustifiable since there's no noble cause for it. Backdoor drafts are already occuring, and the threats of a legitimate draft may arise, given the current manpower issues. There's only one person that "pissed on the families of soldiers" i'm afraid, and it isn't this soldier.

Exactly, if its well established that such prisoner's are terrorists, then you could argue there's a case, although I do not agree with torture against anyone under any cirucmstances due to it's obvious violation of human rights and the fact that it dosen't really work anyway. To say all detainee's are terrorists isn't exactly true either. There are many detainees in Guantanamo Bay who have no affiliation with al Qaeda, many of which were merely assisting civilians in war torn Afghanistan and Iraq as well as fighting against US troops. The US has had it's fair share of human rights violation, namely on the 'war on terror/islam' in recent years. All you have to do is look at what happened to Maher Arar, a telecommunications engineer living in Canada who was interrogated by US police and then sent to Syria for to be tortured for a year. But hey, condoning actions such as this helps gullible minds sleep better at night dosen't it?

You bought yourself a birthday present?

You just adovacted torture, disregard for international law, and displayed profound ignorance in one full swoop. Congratulations.

I really don't understand all the love for this episode. A bit too disturbing for my liking.

They really need to stay consistent for the names of the brand only PPV's

If they're serious about Edge in the ME, a big match at WrestleMania is what he needs. A win against HBK would keep him in the title picture post-Mania. They could play it up like Jericho/HBK at WMXIX, except HBK would put Edge over. Jericho/Benoit vs. E&C would be a good RAW match though. I have no doubt that Benoit will be involved in some sort of multiple person match at Mania though.

All I wish to know is when American Dad will be airing. It's suppose to premiere around January....

If only... thestar.ca

There's no reason to believe that we won't be seeing Orton win the Rumble and Orton raising the World Title to end WrestleMania 21. I don't think the RR/WM scenario has ever been more predictible than this year.

Didn't say they were. I wouldn't think of that group as representitive of Canadian music.

Previously mentioned artists aside, Canadian musicians are fantastic.
