I have moments of blinding anger that people exist who will watch this and say "they're right about everything! Reporters are so biased!" with complete belief. Then I calm down. Stuff like this isn't bugging me this election year nearly as much as it is most of the people in left-leaning circles. I think my mind has already decided that this ticket being elected is so far out of the realm of possibility that it isn't a concern. If Palin can't produce straight answers in that debate people will notice if Biden doesn't jump on her first about it. The people of this country want answers now, not marketing. It's already fooled us twice and 270 electoral votes worth of Americans simply couldn't be THAT stupid this time. Unlike 9/11, this is a different kind of anger in the electorate because there aren't any shadowy men half a world away to blame for this mess.

I knew you were a fuckin' queerbait that would get stomped.

Only the person who wants to rumble with a guy from a messageboard could think bumping this thread was a good idea.

First, only one has actually been delivered to a paying customer, but he has extreme limitations on what he can do with it. A purely electric drivetrain produces insane torque with the high performance specifications that the car has. This means a real transmission that can handle it and allow a driver to go above 60 and stuff like that is hard as fuck to build. It's been in the works for years now, has a showroom and others on the way, and costs a shit-ton of coin. Just read this: http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/category/...la-birth-watch/ Most concept cars are lucky to be able to propel themselves. It would obviously be marketed to city dwellers, not suburbanites or rural areas. http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/between-t...e-announcement/

What's funny is that McCain wanted a meeting with the President and Congressional leadership, and the two candidates. Are they now conferred some extra power because they're nominees? Neither is really in charge of anything. This campaign is becoming embarassingly bad. Huckabee in '12!

It actually is what they need to to to be relevant in light of their market share vanishing and a potential "Wal-Mart of Cars" business model. Honestly though, they're a pair of rushed concepts (the electric sports car idea is especially fault-prone as Tesla has shown) to show the government that they're worthy of the $50b bailout for the three Detroit automakers. The $25b that's mentioned in economic relief bills these last few days is only half of the total the automakers are requesting to save their asses. GM may be looking at its last calendar year of solvency and Chrysler is nothing but a headache for Cerberus. Ford's in better shape than the other two, but that's like missing your leg from your knee down instead of the whole thing.

I think your affiliation comes from a thirst for cut and dry, easily digested platitudes rather than the nuances that are necessary for something like the Presidency of the United States. This is not to say that you're dumb, but you lack patience. To summarize: Pointing out that some whites support McCain due to racism is an intelligent, well thought-out point; however, bringing up African Americans' far more tilted support of Obama as potential racism is "lacking patience." So anyone who doesn't share your viewpoint simply isn't as smart? Interesting. What a totalitarian view of things. No, all the talk of racism in voting is worthless in the first place. Your verve for something that's only two-sided to hop onto as a talking point when there are actual issues is sad. I expect some people to not vote for Obama because he's black, and to claim it's some kind of story is pathetic. Democrats who follow that pattern are pieces of shit that I'd rather were voting for someone else anyway. Non-story. Cute use of "totalitarian" too. Is there anything the Right can talk about without using hyperbole?

Well damn. I wouldn't mind that going on outside of my house, but if, and ONLY if it were multicultural. -

Do other ethnicities sell drugs outside your house? -
Comments which don't warrant a thread.

I'm eating some crunchy peanut butter off a spoon, and the area left over after I licked most of it off has the peanuts arranged like a smiley face. -
That's an awesome exchange. I hadn't seen the McCain interview on The View until just now, and it'd be great if the media as a whole had the kind of balls Barbara Walters sprouted for a moment. And I mean that with both candidates. I might love Obama, but the FISA vote bugs me as well as any notion of bailing out the auto industry. I want everyone to be tough as nails with both candidates, but I end up getting fucked since they're in love with one and too timid to question the other.

This dumbass, apparently.

I think you're actually calling him a turkey. Hey Agent, kick his ass.

You didn't even take the bones out. You trying to kill him? We need TSM Secret Service as well.

I'm ready to root for Tennessee in the Cotton Bowl. Anything less and I'mma be pissed. I'm done with Phil Fulmer. I'm sick of losing these huge games against Top 10 teams. In Neyland! How do you fuck up a 107,000 fan home field advantage like that time after time? Now we have to beat Auburn or risk a disaster of a season. In the SEC you're lost forever with a 1-3 start.

Heaven forbid he actually get a straight answer out of the guy. Why can't Republicans admit they're Republicans? Shit, even Mitt Romney kept saying "conservative" and "liberal" at the convention. It's sad to see the last resort of the ideologically senile in its current form Republican party is to make you forget their name.

Like I said in the other thread, it's going to be a good one this time. I won't say that Florida's doomed like I usually do around this time of year, but 7.5 is too many points. Honest pick: Florida, 24-20 or something, sealed with a Crompton pick at 1:15 remaining in the 4th and I break something at work. At least I'll be off work by the time LSU/Auburn starts. This game is quickly becoming an annual highlight for me. I don't predict so much ESS EEE SEE SPEED as I do some of the hardest hits anyone's ever put on someone else for free. Regarding that, I'm a little troubled by the rapidly improving performance of the college football player. I know they signed on and all, but college kids are getting really strong and fast now and the rate of injury stoppages in games I've watched has seemed high. With NFL players whose literal job it is to destroy each other it's one thing but these are still amateurs at the end of the day. Oh, and legal horse collars!

That video is agonizing. Credit to the Kentucky defender for staying alert, but that sucks for MTSU.

Which is a shame because I'd wreck Cindy McCain.

On the Packers today, I was "watching" via my phone and looked away for a decent chunk of time after Detroit took the lead (I was at work). Suddenly it was 48-25. I think Detroit panicked. Oh well, can't do that.

Pervertedly maybe? I say it was a great game because the crowd was living and dying on every play. Tennessee had a good showing against UAB, and it's good to see the defense went the whole game without allowing a touchdown. I got a feeling about it this year. Not like an indefatigable resolve that we'll win, but more like knowing it's going to be a good game. Good game means the victor isn't known until more than 59 minutes have elapsed. Think 2004. I think this favors Tennessee as the home team. Florida's giving 7.5, but it's going to be way closer. It's a pick'em as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this at any point, but the Sunday Night Football Extra thing on NFL.com is great. I can't watch the game on the TV with cable because of my damn roommates. And the boos break out before the half. If Cleveland can't start playing with some nuts and brains, their season is over.

I want to know when we decided to say "energy" in place of "oil."
