We've had two Quakers, so why not a Mormon? I don't think he'll be able to go all the way because of other factors ("huh? Who's that?" for the most part), but I doubt Mormonism would be the issue unless there's another polygamist the news freaks out about 'round primary time.

I had enough time during the second Rex pick's trip downfield to say "oh no, that pass looks horrible." I can't remember which dude said it, but on ESPN it was remarked that he was throwing out of a well all game long. I agree, because even when he was able to wrangle in a snap his delivery on anything longer than a dump-off pass looked even worse than usual because he was surrounded by his own collapsing pocket. Dude needs to change his throwing motion but quick. He also could have converted one third down with his feet (the one where he had to run one way and then another before escaping the pocket) thanks to that side of the field being cleared out, but nope. I think he was scared, to be honest.

So much for ever being President. No one would vote for a candidate associated with that.

I think, at the end of the day, the minimum wage is a mediocre mechanism of eliminating poverty. If you raise it to a level like $10 - $15, you're going to have a significant amount of job losses and job prevention because of rising costs, so you're effectively making the poorest (i.e the people who need it most) unemployed. Having said that, eliminating the minimum wage is only an answer if its replaced by a better system. Evidence seems to suggest that the Earned Income Tax Credit (and similar systems) is a better mechanism that can provide additional income to the poor at the same level of the minimum wage, but at significantly lower cost. The concept of the negative income tax I think is a better way. Business owners need employees. Also, they have to follow lord-only-knows how many regulations and laws as is, so why not another?
