06/07/85 @ New York City, NY - Madison Square Garden Before the show begins properly we go to a pre recorded message from Vince McMahon that states that a title change occurred at a local house show last night. We then go to the closing moments of a match between Tag Team Champions “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton and The US Express (Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo) from last night where Orndorff is pinned via a bulldog delivered to him from Barry Windham. NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!! The US Express are now two time tag team champions. We then go to the commentators booth as a three man team welcome us to a special night. Vince McMahon is in the middle of Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse “The Body” Ventura. They put over the fact that you never know what is going to happen in the World Wrestling Federation. We then head to the ring for the opening contest and a rematch from last nights encounter. The New Tag Team Champions The US Express get a great pop from the crowd as they come down the aisle with their newly regained titles each waving an American flag. Tag Team Champions The US Express (Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo) pinned “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton after a miscommunication between the heels. The referee was knocked down after Rotundo was irish whipped into him. This allowed Orndorff to hold Rotundo as Orton went to hit him with his cast. Rotundo moved and Mr Wonderful was floored. Windham chucks Orton out of the ring as the ref comes to. Rotundo pins Orndorff for the three count and The US Express retain their titles (6.34) . However the big story from the match happened after the pinfall as a visibly seething Orton climbs back in the ring and starts berating Orndorff for him loosing TWICE in two days to The US Express. A fight breaks out between the two as it looks like the former champions have broken up. Orton gets the upper hand and heads back outside the ring and pick up the timekeepers bell – however just as he is about to crack it over his fallen victim, who else but WWF Champion HULK HOGAN runs down for the save. A big boot and a leg drop to Orton as Hogan helps Orndorff up and the pair shake hands to the delight of the crowd. Interview in the back with The Heenan Family. The promo is lead by manager Bobby Heenan. Later tonight Family member Ken Patera will meet WWF Champion Hulk Hogan in a non-title match. Heenan says he has all the confidence in the world that Patera will shock the world and pin Hogan to get a title shot in the future. Big John Studd and The Missing Link were also in the promo but did not say anything. Next up was a debut…..that of Terry Funk. Funk came down the aisle as the commentators say that Funk is one tough son of a gun who just loves beating people up. Funk has with him a branding iron. Terry Funk submission over Aldo Marino via the spinning toe hold. (2.07) . After the match Funk went over to ring announcer Mel Phillips and proceeded to gather his cowboy hat and branding iron. Funk begins shouting at Phillips as his hat appears to have been dented slightly. Funk shouts at Phillips for not taking care of his property and spits in Phillips direction. After the spit he hits Phillips in the throat with his branding iron as officials swarm from the back to try and get Funk to stop beating on Phillips. Striking debut by The Funkster. Poor Mel Phillips is stretchered out of the arena. What a heinous act by Terry Funk. Interview conducted by Mene Gene Okerlund with Rowdy Roddy Piper. Okerlund says what are his thought on his friends beating two barrels out of each other earlier. Piper says those two boys can sort themselves out as he has more pressing matters on his mind. Piper says that he can’t wait to get his hands on The Junkyard Dog, but unfortunately it won’t be tonight as he is already spoken for. (He has a match signed with Don Muraco). Six man tag action as The British Bulldogs (The Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith) and George “The Animal” Steele (with Captain Lou Albano) pinned The Moondogs (Spot and Rex) and Adrian Adonis after Spot submitted to Steele’s claw to the face. (4.32) Total filler match, just an opportunity to get The Bulldogs and newley turned face Steele on the card. Interview conducted by Lord Alfred Hayes. His guest none other than Hillbilly Jim. The old hillbilly introduces Alfred and everyone watching at home to his uncle. This is the on screen debut of Uncle Elmer. Uncle Elmer says he has come to the WWF to watch his nephew’s back. (The WWF weren’t kidding when they said they were looking to inject new talent to the roster – that is the second debut tonight.) Don Muraco (with Mr Fuji) pinned The Junkyard Dog with the reverse piledriver after Rowdy Roddy Piper cracked a chair over the head of The Dog. (11.03). An intense brawl between two upper mid carders. The Piper and Dog feud continues apace. Interview with WWF Champion Hulk Hogan. He tells Mene Gene Okerlund that he will need eyes in the back of his head when he is wrestling Ken Patera tonight as he doesn’t trust Bobby Heenan and his cronies The Missing Link and Big John Studd. “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat pinned The Foreign Leigon (The Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff) (with Classie Freddie Blassie) when Snuka pinned Volkoff with the Superfly Splash for the 123. (7.21). This appears to be culmination of this mini feud which has helped greatly in establishing Ricky Steamboat as a superstar to keep your eye on. A promo for Andre The Giant is aired. A package is shown of him and his greatest achievements in the WWF. The package ends with the Slogan “The Eigth Wonder Of The World” The Unbeatable Andre The Giant) Non Title Match: WWF Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan Pinned Ken Patera (with Bobby Heenan) after a big boot and a leg drop. (11.41) As Hogan celebrates Heenan calls for back up as Big John Studd and The Missing Link start to double team the champion, Patera also gets involved. All of a sudden “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff runs from the back with a chair in hand as the heels exit the ring out of harms way. Orndorff helps Hogan to his feet as the two embrace. Orndorff’s face turn appears to have been completed. Before the main event we have a tag match. In a rematch from Prime Time we see The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart) (with Jimmy Hart) Pin George Welles and Tony Atlas. Welles is pinned by Hart after being delivered The Hart Attack. Welles and Atlas again fail to defeat The Hart Foundation. (10.45) Now to the big one of the night – what the commentators say is the culmination of an intense rivalry between two of the best wrestlers in the world today. The showdown will be confined to a cage!! Tito Santana defeated Intercontinental Champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine after escaping the cage first. The conclusion of the match sees Valentine crawl to the door of the cage as Tito is climbing over the cage to the floor. The crowd is rabid as it appears either one of the superstars could leave the cage first – however out from the back comes Brutus Beefcake (who helped Valentine in a post match beat down of Santana on Wrestling Challenge last week). Beefcake try’s his hardest to stop Santana in his tracks as Valentine edges closer and closer to the exit. However it is all in vain as Santana hits the floor and delivers a clothesline to Beefcake who’s momentum takes him crashing into the steel guard rails. The Winner of the match and NEW INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION TITO SANTANA. Santana has ended Greg “The Hammer” Valentine’s 10 month reign. (He won it from Santana back in September 1984 (24th to be exact). Santana becomes the third man to hold the Intercontinental Title on two occasions, joining “Triple Crown” Pedro Morales and Don Muraco. (18.34) The show ends with Tito Santana celebrating his title win, in the crowd. As the show fades to black.

Prime Time Wrestling – 02/07/85 @ Pensacola, FL - Civic Center Commentators Vince McMaohn and Pat Patterson. Show starts with both commentators hyping Saturday Night’s Main Event. Tonight we will see a preview of two of the matches signed for the 06/07/85 extravaganza, as a huge 8 man tag team affair will be tonight’s main event. Tag Team Champions “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton and The Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff will meet The US Express (Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo) and “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. But First….. Blackjack Mulligan pinned Gino Carabello after a lariat. (3.46). Since Mulligan’s initial mini feud with Greg Valentine (which really was just a transitional one to break up the ongoing angle between Valentine and Santana) he has pretty much been directionless. However he still is one of the most over mid carders on the roster. Promo from the heel team of the eight man tag tonight. Classie Freddie Blassie wants assurances that tonight the tag champs have his teams back and also that once they defeat The US Express at Saturday Night’s Main Event, that they will be next in line for a shot at the titles. The champs agree and both shake Blassie hands as The Foreign Leigon stare a hole in their partners. The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart) (with Jimmy Hart) pinned George Welles and Tony Atlas. Hart pinned Atlas after he was cracked over the head with Jimmy Hart’s megaphone. (11.12) Welles and Atlas were back tagging together (so it doesn’t look like this team is to be disbanded quite yet?) Another impressive victory for The Hart Foundation as they climb the tag team ranks. Incoherent promo in the back by newly face George “The Animal” Steele and his new manager Captain Lou Albano. (Albano has been paired up with Steele and it appears that he is no longer manager of The US Express, who he has not been seen with a ringside for their last few matches). These two make quite the unusual pairing. B. Brian Blair pinned Rene Goulet after a victory roll pin. (5.21). A promo for Saturday Night’s Main Event. Shaping up to be a huge night. We return as the commentators say that we should not miss Saturday Night’s Main Event. Adrian Adonis submssion over Swede Hanson with the sleeper hold (4.27) Adonis is another midcarder who has been pretty directionless since loosing the tag team titles earlier in the year and then his tag team parter Dick Murdoch leaving for the NWA. WWF officials seem to be unhappy with his recent weight gain and are encouraging him to loss it. Age has caught up with The Big Swede and his future is in doubt as the WWF are thinking of freeing up some roster space so that new and younger athletes are signed to contracts. Back from commercial and we go straight to the ring for a quick squash before the main event as George “The Animal” Steele (with Captain Lou Albano) was disqualified against Barry O as he ripped one of the ring pads off of on of the turnbuckles and began ramming O’s head into it. the referee had no choice but to ring the bell for the D/Q. (3.25) Wow jobber Barry O gets the victory. Steele’s actions although rather “heel” does not put the fans off from cheering him. Patterson on commentary is furious with Steele’s actions and believes he should be kept in a zoo. Pre-recorded comments from Tito Santana. He is fine after the “cowardly” attack by Greg “The Hammer” Valentine and Brutus Beefcake and the best revenge he can think of is to pin Valentine one, two, three and become a two time Intercontinental Champion. Main Event Time as Tag Team Champions “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton and The Foreign Leigon (The Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff) (with Classie Freddie Blassie) pinned The US Express (Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo) and “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. Orndorff gets the clean pinfall over Barry Windham when he hits him with his vicious looking piledriver. The heels head into Saturday Night’s Main Event with a huge victory. (11.25) The commentators tell us as the show goes off air to remember that no Wrestling Challenge will air this week and instead a special 2 Hour broadcast of Saturday Night’s Main Event will air instead.

Wrestling Challenge – 29/06/85 @ Boston, MA - Boston Garden We are reminded straight away that next week there will be no Wrestling Challenge. Instead Saturday Night’s Main Event will air in it’s place. Commentators for the show –Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse “The Body” Ventura. Tag action to kick things off. The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart) (with Jimmy Hart) pinned Ron Hutchinson and Paul Roma. After Neidhart pinned Hutchinson following a Hart Attack. (3.21) We go to a clip of last weeks show where George “The Animal” Steele was set upon by The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff and being saved from further harm by Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka. George “The Animal” Steele (with Captain Lou Albano) submission over Mike Powers following the flying hammerlock. As a surprise “Manager of Champions” Captain Lou Albano was in Steele’s corner. (2.29) Steele was pretty over with the fans following his recent face turn. A promo for Saturday Night’s Main Event. Confirmed Matches – *Intercontinental Championship Cage Match. Champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine verses challenger Tito Santana. *Tag Team Champions “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton verses The US Express (Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo) *“Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat will meet The Foreign Leigon (The Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff) The WWF Champion Hulk Hogan will be in action as well as The Hart Foundation, The British Bulldogs, Junkyard Dog, The Heenan Family and Rowdy Roddy Piper. Shaping up to be a huge night. B. Brian Blair pinned Les Thorton after a dropkick from the top rope. Blair has not tasted defeat since his return to the WWF. There is talk that there is plans to integrate Blair into the growing tag team division, however a choice of partner has not yet been decided. (4.52) Interview with Tony Atlas conducted by Lord Alfred Hayes. Atlas says that he has not been wrestling to his full potential recently and promises to come good tonight against his opponent Ken Patera. Throw away tag team action as George Welles and SD Jones pinned Ted Grizzley and Barry O when Welles pinned Grizzley after a shoulder tackle. (3.21) Interesting to see Welles and Jones teamed instead of Welles normal partner of Atlas. There is talk that Atlas could get a small push in singles action. Interview with Intercontinental Champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine conducted by Mene Gene Okerlund. Valentine talks up his rivalry with Tito Santana that has been off and on for near a year. He says at Saturday Night’s Main Event it will finally come to an end and he will finish Tito once and for all. Valentine puts it over as the biggest match of his career. Tony Atlas pinned Ken Patera (with Bobby Heenan) following a press slam. A huge victory for Atlas against former Intercontinental Champion Patera. Rumours of a push for Atlas could well be true. (8.12) Good Contest here. A music video promo is aired for The Junkyard Dog along to the tune of Queen – Another One Bites The Dust. This weeks Main Event sees Brutus Beefcake (with Johnny Valliant) count out over Tito Santana. Great match between these two upper mid-carders. The WWF are still very high on Beefcake and rumours are rife that Beefcake could be wearing gold by the end of the year. Beefcake gets the shallow victory over Tito when Intercontinental Champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine runs down and starts attacking his rival. The referee does not see the attack as he is jawing with Beefcake from exiting the ring. The ref gets to the ten count as the match comes to a close. (16.21). Valentine rolls Santana in the ring as both he and Beefcake lay the beating on Santana to the boos of the crowd. The heels seem to be in some king of cahoots. Show ends with Valentine shaking Beefcake’s and then Valliant’s hands.

Prime Time Wrestling – 25/06/85 @ Omaha, NE - City Auditorium A video is played voiced by Vince McMahon hyping tonight’s main event between WWF Champion Hulk Hogan and Don Muraco. Clips are shown to all the build up to this particular match, including Muraco’s count-out victory over the champion and his and Mr Fuji’s tag team win last week. Commentators Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson. The crowd goes wild as “Another One Bites The Dust” plays in the arena. Out comes The Junkyard Dog. The Junkyard Dog pinned Bret Hart (with Jimmy Hart) after a headbutt. Patterson puts Hart over as one of the new breed of technical sound wrestlers and bets McMahon that Hart will one day wear gold in the WWF. McMahon doesn’t take the bet as he actually agrees with Patterson for once. (10.11) The Dog celebrates with the fans after. Interview with Don Muraco and Mr Fuji – the WWF title will be theirs tonight. “Triple Crown” Pedro Morales Submission over Terry Gibbs with the boston crab. (2.32) Another quick squash match to re-establish the former Tag, Intercontinental and World Champion. A promo for Saturday Night’s Main Event. Confirmed Matches – *Intercontinental Championship Cage Match. Champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine verses challenger Tito Santana. *Tag Team Champions “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton verses The US Express (Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo) *“Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat will meet The Foreign Leigon (The Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff) The WWF Champion whether it be Hogan or Muraco will be in attendance as well as The Hart Foundation, The British Bulldogs, The Junkyard Dog, The Heenan Family and Rowdy Roddy Piper. Shaping up to be a huge night. Intercontinental Champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine submission over George Welles with the figure four leg lock. (4.12) Valentine proclaims to the camera after the match that anything Santana can do he can do better. This was in reference to Tito’s win against Ken Patera with the same move last week. After the break it is the big one. WWF Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan pinned Don Muraco (with Mr Fuji) after a boot to the face and a leg drop. The match was shown in it’s entirety and was an all out brawl. (24.12) Show ends with Hogan celebrating with the fans. Hogan goes into SNME with the title still around his waist.

News. In some shock news the WWF has decided to terminate the contract of Rocky Johnson. Apparently WWF officials was unhappy with his conditioning during his matches these past few weeks with Big John Studd on TV and also his performances on the House Show circuit. This does mean that the plans to re-team him Tony Atlas has obviously been shelved. The WWF wish Rocky the best and would like to work again with him in the future. Following on from the above news - the WWF expect to shake up their roster pretty soon with some more releases sure to occur and new talent to arrive. Also current stars on the roster are expected to get some new direction in the near future – George “The Animal” Steele already being a prime example. Watch this space. WWF are over the moon with the work shown by The Hart Foundation, The British Bulldogs and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. Steamboat especially has made a big impact since his debut in March and is expected to be placed in a lengthily feud very soon with suspects being Don Muraco, Big John Studd or even his partner “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka. King Kong Bundy has been booked to appear on and off in Japan over the summer months (he is contractually obligated to do this) – due to this it is doubtful that he will be back in the WWF full time until the fall – September at the earliest. After his return it is expected that he will be pushed heavily up the card.

Wrestling Challenge – 22/06/1985 @ Poughkeepsie, NY - Mid-Hudson Civic Center Commentators for the show –Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse “The Body” Ventura. The Missing Link (with Bobbby Heenan) pinned Rick “Quickdraw” McGraw after a flying head BUTT from the second rope. Link continues to impress within the federation, although McMahon does add that he has not yet truly been tested as of yet. (4.26) Quickdraw didn’t fair too badly, and gave Link his toughest test in the ring, however there was only ever going to be one winner. McGraw’s good single run is over. The commentators then run through the matches we expect to see tonight as in the main event Tito Santana will go one on one with Ken Patera. Also another member of Heenan’s Family Big John Studd will meet Rocky Johnson in a rematch from last week. Make sure to tune into Prime Time Wrestling as Don Muraco will get his chance to become the new WWF champion as he will meet Hulk Hogan. Big six man match next. “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and Hillbilly Jim pinned The Foreign Leigon (The Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff) (with “Classie” Freddie Blassie) and George “The Animal” Steele. The match ended with Steele in the ring taking a beating from all three men – Sheik and Volkoff would not tag in whenever Snuka or Steamboat were in the match – and so kept refusing a tag to Steele. The match ended with Snuka finishing off Steele with the Superfly Splash. The faces celebrate. (14.04) When we get back from commercial we see George “The Animal” Steele arguing with The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff due to them not tagging into the match. The tag team turn on Steele and start laying the boots to an already weak prey. All of a sudden Snuka and Steamboat get back in the ring and run off the heels. They help Steele to his feet and raise his arms in the air – it looks as though Steele has turned face. A promo for Saturday Night’s Main Event. Confirmed Matches – *Intercontinental Championship Cage Match. Champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine verses challenger Tito Santana. *Tag Team Champions “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton verses The US Express (Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo) *“Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat will meet The Foreign Leigon (The Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff) WWF Champion Hulk Hogan will be in action. The rematch from last week was next as Big John Studd (with Bobby Heenan) pinned Rocky Johnson after a powerslam followed by an elbow drop. (6.33) This match went a little longer than last weeks match, this time with Studd pinning Johnson. The Heenan Family are 2 for 2 tonight. The Main Event will be up next. Interview in the back with Mene Gene Okerlund and Intercontinental Champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine. Valentine says he will be watching the next match very closely and swears to make Tito bleed and pass out in their cage match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Tito Santana submission over Ken Patera (with Bobby Heenan) after applying the figure-four leg lock. A great match between two former Intercontinental Champions. Greg “The Hammer” Valentine comes out after the match and stares a hole from Tito as the crowd eats it up. (9.43) Show fades.

Prime Time Wrestling – 18/06/85 @ Toronto, Ontario - Maple Leaf Gardens Commentators Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson Tag Team action gets us underway this week as The US Express (Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo) (with Captain Lou Albano) pinned Rene Goulet and Barry O. Rotundo pins Goulet after the airplane spin. During the match we are told that The US Express will challenge the tag team champions “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton at Saturday Night’s Main Event. (4.06) All three titles wil be on the line at SNME with Hulk Hogan also expected to be in action. Interview in the back with Mene Gene Okerlund and WWF champion Hulk Hogan. Okerlund wants to know who will be Hogan’s partner for the main event tonight. Hogan brings into the interview none other than HILLBILLY JIM!! So tonight’s main event will see Hulk Hogan and Hillbilly Jim against Don Muraco and Mr Fuji. Matt Borne pinned George Welles after a neck breaker. The commentators put over how impressive Borne looked against Welles partner Tony Atlas last week. Borne picks up his first televised victory in a WWF ring. (5.34) Interview in the back with Bobby Heenan (conducted by Lord Alfred Hayes). Heenan introduces the viewing public to who he is now dubbing “The Heenan Family” Big John Studd, Ken Patera and The Missing Link. Heenan puts over the three men as a force to be reckoned with and you will see this later tonight as these three men will be in action. The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart) (with Jimmy Hart) pinned Rick “Quickdraw” McGraw and Jim Powers. The Hart Attack was delivered to Powers for the victory via pinfall. (4.21) It is noted during the match about the amazing match The Harts had with The British Bulldogs last week and that fans are eager to see more matches between these two teams. Also McMahon adds that McGraw has been enjoying some mild success in singles competition recently. Interview with Don Muraco and Mr Fuji – Fuji explains that tonight all you wrestling fans will see the penultimate step to Don winning the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. Ivan Putski Pinned Steve Lombardi after the Polish Hammer (3.06) Total filler match with the polish superstar going over strong. A promo for Saturday Night’s Main Event. Confirmed Matches – Intercontinental Championship Cage Match. Champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine verses challenger Tito Santana. Tag Team Champions “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton verses The US Express (Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo) WWF Champion Hulk Hogan will be in action. Big return next as the crowd went crazy for “Triple Crown” Pedro Morales submission over Mr X with the boston crab. No ring rust at all from Pedro as McMahon puts over that it is great to see him back in the WWF ring – Patterson agrees to disagree. (3.12) Mene Gene grabs a word with Morales after the match, as the crowd chants his name. Morales likes to thank the fans for all his get well cards since he has been out on the shelf. The Heenan Family (Big John Studd, Ken Patera and The Missing Link) pinned Paul Roma, Swede Hanson and Tony Garea after Hanson was met with the big boot by The Missing Link. (4.23) Convincing victory from the heels. A quick run down of what to expect from this weeks Wrestling Challenge – as all three members of The Heenan Family will be in action again - with the Main Event signed as Tito Santana against Ken Patera – also MASSIVE six man tag action as “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and Hillbilly Jim take on The Iron Shiek, Nikolai Volkoff and George “The Animal” Steele. Main Event time as Don Muraco and Mr Fuji pinned WWF World Heavyweight Championship Hulk Hogan and Hillbilly Jim. As the referee was preoccupied with Fuji and Hogan brawling on the floor this allowed Muraco to take something out his pants and throw it into Hillbilly’s eyes. The commentators put over that it was salt – Muraco lifts Jim up plants him with the tombstone piledriver for the easy 3 count. (12.33) Patterson goes berserk with glee as McMahon calls Muraco a cheating low life. Don Muraco now has his rematch in the bag with Hulk Hogan. Show End.

Wrestling Challenge – 15/06/85 @ Philadelphia, PA – Spectrum Commentators for the show –Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse “The Body” Ventura. The commentators welcome us to the show and say that this weeks show is particularly special – the following matches will happen tonight – Brutus Beefcake will meet David Sammartino and a returning superstar to the federation will be going one on one with Big John Studd. Firstly though we are taken to a match that happened a couple of days ago at a house show between two teams that truly underline the excellence of the tag team division in the WWF today and will be part of the division for many a year to come. The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart) (with Jimmy Hart) DRAW with The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith and The Dynamite Kid). The commentators put over that this is probably both teams biggest challenge whilst in the WWF – and that both teams are currently undefeated. (Match Time – 20.00 – Aired Time – 14.02) Not all the match was shown and about five minutes of it was clipped. Both teams got a standing ovation from the crowd after the match. We are taken to an interview with Big John Studd and Bobby Heenan. They say it doesn’t matter who their surprise opponent opponent is tonight – whoever it is they will beat them for the 1-2-3. Next up was a match between two superstars we haven’t seen for a few weeks as George “The Animal” Steele and Hillbilly Jim went to a double count out. (6.21) The commentators say that these two men fought all over Japan on the special WWF tour last month. Neither man gets the victory here, as we get our second no contest of the evening. Another hype for the Big John Studd’s opponent later in the broadcast. As the commentators discuss who it could be, with Andre The Giant’s name being mentioned. “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat pinned The Moondogs (Rex and Spot) after Steamboat delivered a karate cope off the top rope to Rex. (3.02) Very quick match here as Snuka and Steamboat get back to winning ways after failing to capture the tag titles from Orndorff and Orton. Piper’s Pit is up next as Rowdy Roddy Piper welcomes us to two of his closest friends the Tag Team Champions of The World – “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton. This segment was basically used to further the feuds/issues these three men have with The US Express and Junkyard Dog. A promo for Saturday Night’s Main Event. Confirmed Matches – Intercontinental Championship Cage Match. Champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine verses challenger Tito Santana. WWF Champion Hulk Hogan will be in action. Brutus Beefcake (with Johnny Valliant) submission over David Sammartino (with Bruno Sammartino). Beefcake finishes off David with a sleeper. (11.21) Johnny Valliant and Bruno Sammartino were both sent to the back in this match as they got in a brawl on the outside. Promo for Prime Time Wrestling as Don Muraco and Mr Fuji will be in action against WWF Champion Hulk Hogan and a partner of his choice. Also will see the return of Triple Crown winner Pedro Morales. Up next is the main event as Big John Studd (with Bobby Heenan) are in the ring awaiting their surprise opponent. The surprise turns out to be second generation star and former tag team champion Rocky Johnson!!! (Gets a decent pop from the crowd – but no more – think they were expecting the return of one Andre The Giant). Rocky Johnson disqualification over Big John Studd after Johnson went for a powerslam on Studd – however Studd held onto the tope rope which made him land onto of Johnson for the pinfall. However, Rocky’s feet were on the ropes, this caused the referee to restart the match. Big John Studd was not happy to say the least and began choking out Johnson, until the referee called for the bell. (4.42)

I get a vibe of the old Nitro sign on his tights. Looks like he needs to get back into shape, before he is called up to the main roster. Not surprised that he was no longer pushed in TNA if he looked like this in his final days there. Just imagining the amount of fat on display during the Harris / Reign match.

I think all the obvious names have been mentioned all ready.... However The Highlanders and Charle Hass are most at risk on RAW Kevin Thorn on ECW Deuce and Domino on Smackdown. As for arrivals, Ron Killings ad Chris Harris are on their way soon. A Harris / Palumbo team I'd quite like to see. Also I can see WWE make a play for Ricky Banderas. (big Hispaniac guy) Speaking of arrivals - welcome back Cryme Tyme - what a great suprise that was on Monday night. You should never have been released in the first place. Move them to Smackdown for an awesome - Tyme / Miz/Morrison feud.

Yeah, I'm digging the tag team champs. Really like how they have let this gimmick grow over the past few months. I sense a bit of Edge and Christian about them, just as they started to break out in 2000. Liking the chemistry between them too. Loving Morrison dead pan delivery.

Missed Smackdown this week. Doesn't seem the kick ass show that Raw was this past week........althought the Michaels / Batista feud could be pretty good. The whole Vladimier reintroduction - Did they play up his former "stint" in the federation, where he would show up on Raw and Smackdown every week? Also was Matt Bentley treated like a complete jobber?

Prime Time Wrestling – 11/06/85 @ Long Island, NY - Nassau Coliseum Commentary team of Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson welcome us to the show as Patterson is looking forward tonight as “Cowboy” Bob Orton is to become a double champion and beat Hulk Hogan for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. McMahon scoffs at Patterson presumptions. Rick “Quickdraw” McGraw pinned Mr X after an inside cradle. (4.12) Patterson calls McGraw a looser whereas McMahon puts over that this kid is getting matches signed and getting business carried out within the squared circle. Patterson adds that McGraw wouldn’t last five minutes in a ring with the likes of Greg “The Hammer” Valentine or Don Muraco. A promo is then shown immediately after the match hyping the return of the one and only “Triple Crown Winner” Pedro Morales from injury. See him in his return match next week on Prime Time. The US Express (Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo) (with Captain Lou Albano) pinned Les Thornton and Johnny Rodz. Super squash here as the heels hardly get any offence. Rotundo hits the airplan spin on Rodz for the 1-2-3. (1.39) If this isn’t a message to Orndorff and Orton I don’t know what is? We go to the back with Mene Gene Okerlund who is with Don Muraco and Mr Fuji. Both men say that it is ironic that Hogan wears yellow as that is what he is a yellow belly coward, and they demand a rematch for the WWF World Title. Swede Hanson pnned Barry O following a side slam. Crowd was dead for this one. (2.34) Think it’s time to quit Swede. Quick interview with Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka. They vow revenge on The Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff for costing them a chance of winning the Tag Titles. Tony Atlas pinned Matt Borne after a press slam. Good close match here. (8.12) Given plently of time also, Atlas’ first single victory for quite some time now. Promo for Saturday Night’s Main Event on 06/07/85. Confirmed - Intercontinental Championship Cage Match. Champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine verses challenger Tito Santana. Also confirmed to appear is World Wrestling Federation World Champion Hulk Hogan and “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. Make sure you don’t miss it. King Kong Bundy (with Jimmy Hart) pinned Paul Roma to five, after an Avalanche. (2.12) Roma never stood a chance. Up next is the Main Event. WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan pinned one half of The Tag Team Champs “Cowboy” Bob Orton. After a boot to the face and a leg drop. (14.12) After the match out comes Don Muraco and Mr Fuji. Muraco gets on the mic and scolds the crowd for worshipping a “Champion Of Cowards”. Muraco says that he is disgusted that the bookers in the back and Hogan himself has not granted him a rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship. He has therefore taken matters into his own hands and next week if he wins a tag team match with himself and his manager Mr Fuji going up against Hulk Hogan and a partner of his choosing he will be guaranteed a title match. Hogan accepts as the show ends.

Wrestling Challenge – 08/06/85 @ Landover, MD - Capital Centre The show starts with clips from a few weeks back where Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka were victorious in the tag team battle royal which has earned them the right tonight to go one on one with the Tag Team Champions “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton. Commentators for the show – Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse “The Body” Ventura. Gorilla takes great pleasure in teasing Ventura over his recent defeat at the hands of Ivan Putski. First match of the night is a big one as Rowdy Roddy Piper and The Junkyard Dog go one on one. Another clip is shown of where this match steamed from (30/04/85 addition of Prime Time). We hear the moment Piper said derogatory things about Dog on an addition of Pipers Pit and also the first match between the two which ended up with Piper getting disqualified for low blowing Junkyard infront of the referee. Rowdy Roddy Piper and The Junkyard Dog ended in a Double Disqualification as the match got completely out of hand with both wrestlers laying their hands on the official, as they were so eager to get their hands on one another. (13.11) This is by no means over. Another Clip is shown of Rick “Quickdraw” McGraw. We see him picking up the shock victory over Moondog Spot. McGraw will be in action next. Can winning ways continue…Find out after the break…… Rick “Quickdraw” McGraw pinned Les Thornton after a fisherman’s suplex. (4.44). McGraw does it again. Monsoon says that McGraw is competing in matches against other athletes that are currently in his league and not over estimating himself. Monsoon adds that young Rick could be a force to be reckoned with here in the federation if he continues to improve. A quick promo in the back from WWF World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan. Conducted by Mene Gene Okerlund he says that on Prime Time Wrestling you will be going one on one with one half of the tag team champions “Cowboy” Bob Orton. Hogan responds by saying that Orton will feel The Hulkster’s twenty four inch pythons run wild over his body. Okerlund also adds that he has been hearing rumours in the back from the locker room that he has been avoiding going one on one in a rematch with Don Muraco. (Muraco is due a rematch due to his count out victory over Hogan on the 11/05/85) Hogan shoots this down as bull crud and promises that when Orton is out of the way Muraco can have his rematch. Tony Atlas is already in the ring as we head to our next match. Big John Studd (with Bobby Heenan) pinned Tony Atlas after a body splash. (5.11) Interview conducted by Lord Alfred Hayes with Brutus Beefcake (with Johnny Valliant). Hayes says that Beefcake has been on a bit of a sore run at present with a loss against Junkyard Dog and also a countout loss to David……..Beefcake cuts Hayes off and demands Hayes not to even mention that no good son of a gun’s name around him. Beefcake looks dead straight in the camera to finish his promo. “Boy…..you know who I’m talking to, are you man enough to step in the ring with me one on one next week? You don’t even deserve to be in the same damn ring as me and I will prove this as God and Johnny (he looks at his manager) is my witness.” . Brutus Beefcake V David Sammartino looks like it is on for next week. Main Event time next….. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka D/Q over WWF Tag Team Champions “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton. This was a top matchup that had the crowd eating out of the palm of their hands (on a side note it is amazing how over Steamboat has got in just the first initial months of his time with the federation). As it looked as though the faces were going to end the heels short run as champions The Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff (with “Classie” Freddie Classie to cheer on proceedings) cause the D/Q by entering the ring to put a beat down on Steamboat and Snuka. All four heels take turns in laying the boots to the two downed men until the crowd pops big as The US Express run down for the save. The heels get out of dodge as The Express make sure that the challengers are all ok. (15.02) Show Ends.

Prime Time Wrestling – 04/06/1985 @ Miami, FL - Knight Center Commentators Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson. Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson welcomes us to this weeks Prime Time as we are shown clips of the bad blood between Jesse “The Body” Ventura and Ivan Putski. We then head to the ring as we get ready for Ivan Putski against Jesse “The Body” Ventura. This has steamed from Ventura constantly bad mouthing Putski and even going as far as to burn the polish flag last month. Ivan Putski pinned Jesse “The Body” Ventura, after the Polish Hammer. (8.34) Heels never prosper is the message of the day here as Putski wins the blow off to this mini feud. It would appear that Ventura’s return to the ring full time will be shelved as Ventura has continually complained about pains caused by blood clots. Ventura is expected to commit his time more to his colour commentating. Interview in the back conducted by Mene Gene Okerlund with Brutus Beefcake and Johnny Valliant. These two men will be meeting The Sammartino’s in tag action later. Brutus says that he never losses two matches in a row and feels sorry for “The Chump” David and his washed up father Bruno, as Beefcafe is going to take all his frustrations out on them. The Missing Link (with Bobby Heenan) pinned SD Jones following a big boot to the face. (4.35) Promo for Saturday Night’s Main Event. Make sure you don’t miss the Cage Match for the Intercontinental Championship between Champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine and challenger Tito Santana. Watch it on 06/07/85. Next up sees The Sammartino’s (Bruno and David) count out over Brutus Beefcake and Johnny Valliant. Brutus rolled out of the ring after The Sammartino’s had gained the upper hand. Brutus walks over to the timekeeper and demands he rings the bell as he and his manager are through with wasting their time wrestling amateurs and has-beens. The heels walk to the back as the ref counts them out, as the commentators say that Beefcake is a sore looser and if things do not go his way he throws a tantrum. (6.23) Interview with Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka. They say that although they haven’t been teaming very long they have every faith in themselves that they will be crowned the new Tag Team Champions at the next Wrestling Challenge. Mid card match next as Blackjack Mulligan pinned Alexis Smirnoff after a stiff looking lariat. (4.44) Before the main event we are shown a new video which showcases the superstars of the World Wrestling Federation – WWF Champion Hulk Hogan, Andre The Giant, The Junkyard Dog, Tito Santana, The US Express, Rowdy Roddy Piper, King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd are the wrestlers featured. The US Express (Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo) (with Captain Lou Albano) pinned Intercontinental Champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine and Adrian Adnois. At about the eight minute mark Tito Santana comes out to watch the match at ringside as the commentators say that the challenger is playing mind games with the Intercontinental Champion. Valentine goes after Santana at about the ten minute mark as the two brawl in the aisle and to the back – leaving former tag champion Adonis on his own with The US Express. Windham finished off Adonis with the bulldog. (12.34) The show ends with Monsoon putting over that the two victors in the ring are still very much top contenders to the retaining tag team gold.

Wrestling Challenge – 01/06/1985 @ Brantford, Ontario Commentators Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse “The Body” Ventura. First match of the night sees Don Muraco (with Mr Fuji) pinning SD Jones. following a tombstone. (4.21) Muraco and Mr Fuji get on the microphone after Muraco’s latest victory and declare Hulk Hogan a coward for not facing him in a rematch. Interview with Mene Gene Okerlund and The Junkyard Dog – he says tonight he will be going one on one with Brutus Beefcake and warns Rowdy Roddy Piper to keep his nose out of his business. Next up say Rick “Quickdraw” McGraw pinned Moondog Spot following a clothesline from the second rope. The commentators put this over as an upset. (4.13) Spot did not have his tag team partner Rex in his corner. McGraw gets a big victory. Clips of the Tag Team Battle Royal are shown – with the issues between Tag Team Champs “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton and The US Express and a focus on the winners “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, who are now next in line for a title shot. Another midcard match next as The Spoiler pinned Salvatore Bellomo following Bellomo getting crutched on the ropes and Spoiler suplexing him from the top rope. (6.58) The announcers say that a match has been signed for next week which will see The Tag Team Champions “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton take on the team that won the tag team battle royal – “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. Next match up was Big John Studd (with Bobby Heenan) pinned George Welles following a big splash. (5.12) Interview in the back conducted by Lord Alfred Hayes with Brutus Beefcake and Johnny Valliant. Beefcake vows to beat The Junkyard Dog tonight and start to climb back up the WWF rankings. Valliant adds his client will be wearing gold soon. The Junkyard Dog pinned Brutus Beefcake (with Johnny Valliant) after an under hook suplex. (14.21) The crowd goes wild as Junkyard Dog picks up a big victory.

Prime Time Wrestling – 29/05/1985 @ Toronto, Ontario - Maple Leaf Gardens Commentators Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson. The show kicks off with a huge six man tag match. The US Express (Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo) and The Junkyard Dog pinned Rowdy Roddy Piper and Tag Team Champions “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton. The match finished when Orton went to hit Dog with his cast but Dog ducked and so Piper got knocked out instead. Junkyard Dog gets the pinfall on Piper. (15.22) The commentators say that we will see both the champs and The US Express in the tag team battle royal later this evening. Interview with The Hart Foundation and Jimmy Hart. They put over how well they worked together in the Battle Royal two weeks ago, they say they will be victorious in the match. George “The Animal” Steele submission over Paul Roma with the claw to the face. (3.21) Interview with The British Bulldogs – they say they would love to win the tag team battle royal and thanks the American fans for making them feel so welcome in the USA. And so we go to the ring for the Tag Team Battle Royal. The winners will not only receive a guaranteed $50,000 prize but also the opportunity to face the Tag Team Champions – if of course the champions do not win the match themselves. Rules state that if one man from the team is eliminated – the whole team will be forced to the back. The tag teams start coming to the aisle one by one. First team out is – 1.“Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat – Huge pop for these two – the commentators say that they haven’t been teaming together very long however they are both excellent individual talents with Steamboat yet to taste defeat in the federation. 2.The Moondogs (Rex and Spot) Rank outsiders and former champions. 3.The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart) (with Jimmy Hart) Pat Patterson picks these as his winners. 4.The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith and The Dynamite Kid). Vince puts over the fact that these could be real outsiders – like The Hart Foundation they have yet to be defeated in the WWF. 5.Tony Atlas and George Welles. Pat gives them no chance – Vince says not to overestimate them – Atlas of course being a former Tag Champion. 6.The Sammartinos(Bruno and David) Big pop – mostly directed at Bruno. Vince says it is an honour to be watching Bruno – who very rarely wrestles these days. 7.The Foreign Leigon (The Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff) (with “Classie” Freddie Blassie). Pat says their experience just might win this one. 8.Next is a surprise entrance as Mr Wrestling II and Blackjack Mulligan have entered. Vince puts them over as a wildcard and that they could prove an huge underdog. 9.The US Express………Just as The US Express are on their way to the ring they are blindsided in the aisle by the Tag Team Champions “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton. At this time the match bell is rung and all 8 teams in the ring start to go at it. Officials run from the back to separate the four men in the aisle and sends them to the back. The commentators assume that both teams have been D/Q ed (Elimination at 2.32) First proper elimination sees George Welles dumped over by Nikolai Volkoff (Elimination Timed at 3.34) Tony Atlas and George Welles are out! Next gone is Mr Wrestling II who is disposed of by Ricky Steamboat following a dropkick. (Elimination Timed at 6.32). Mr Wrestling II and Blackjack Mulligan are out! Bret Hart is press slammed over the top by Davey Boy Smith. (Elimination Timed at 9.43) The Hart Foundation are out! However Smith is promptly eliminated by Bruno Sammartino as the commentators put over that it is every team for themselves. Smith’s inexperience is highlighted here. (Elimination Timed at 9.46) The British Bulldogs are out. “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka rids the ring of Rex from The Moondogs following a drop kick. (Elimination Timed at 10.21) The Moondogs are out! The Iron Shiek eliminates David Sammartino with a back drop. (Elimination Timed at 14.32) The Sammartinos are out! We are down to our last two teams. The match finishes when Snuka and Steamboat double clothesline out the former WWF Champion The Iron Shiek. (Match Time 18.21) The Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff are out! The winners are “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat who will now receive a guaranteed shot at the tag team champions

Wrestling Challenge – 25/05/1985 @ Atlanta, GA – Omni Commentators Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse “The Body” Ventura. This weeks show kicks off with B. Brian Blair in singles action as he pins Charlie Fulton following a dropkick. Blair is on quite the run since his return to the WWF but the fans don’t seem to give a shit as Blair, apart from his amazing dropkicks, comes across as rather generic. (4.45) Interview with the Tag Team Champions “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff and “Cowboy” Bob Orton. They say they will take on all comers for the titles and will not shirk a rematch with The US Express. Orton promises to pin Barry Windham in their match later tonight. Tito Santana and Blackjack Mulligan pinned Intercontinental Champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine and Adrian Adonis, when Valentine submitted to Santana's figure-4 after Santana avoided an atomic drop, grabbed Valentine's leg, and applied the hold. (15.31) .It is announced during the match that Tito Santana and Greg “The Hammer” Valentine will meet each other yet again for the Intercontinental Championship on 06/07/1985. The show will be called Saturday Night’s Main Event and will be a two hour extravaganza. This show will air instead of Wrestling Challenge for that particular week. During the match Ventura adds the fact that not only was it Santana that has been trying to gain the Intercontinental Championship this year, but also Valentine had his hands full with Mulligan at the start of the year. Interview in the back with Mene Gene Okerlund and Tito Santana. Mene Gene says the match has been signed - in six weeks time it will be Greg “The Hammer” Valentine going one on one with Tito Santana . Tito vows to regain the championship and states that this match will be a CAGE MATCH!!!! Huge announcement. King Kong Bundy (with Jimmy Hart) pinned Salvatore Bellomo after an Avalanche. Bundy made the referee count to 5 instead of 3. (1.45) Next up is The Piper’s Pit. And this weeks guest’s are The Foreign Leigon (The Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff )(with “Classie” Freddie Blassie). This was an opportunity for them to stir the pot with their current feud with “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. After the interview Volkoff tries to get the crowd to participate in singing with him the Russian National Anthem. This obviously didn’t go down to well. The Moondogs (Rex and Spot) pinned Barry O and Gary Starr. After a side slam by Rex on Starr. A rare victory for The Moondogs. (3.43) During this match it is hyped that on Prime Time Wrestling there will be a massive 10 man Tag Team Battle Royal with the winning team, guaranteed a shot at the Champions. The Moondogs are one of those teams in the match. Interview with Lord Alfred Hayes and The US Express. They mention their involvement in the tag Battle Royal next week on Prime Time. They hope a victory will guarantee them their rematch with the current champions. Barry Windham and Tag Team Champion “Cowboy” Bob Orton was thrown out and therefore the match was considered a double disqualification as Mike Rotundo and”Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff got involved in the match.
