Hey, they used "Big Time" by Peter Gabriel for Wrestlemania last year, which I thought was a great choice, and that was from 1986.

Smackdown Spoilers twelve days before No Way Out
Si82 replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
I don't understand why they didn't save the ladder match until Wrestlemania. You could have had D&D going over London & Kendrick at No Way Out and then setup the ladder match for Wrestlemania replacing Regal & Taylor with D&D. But maybe they'll do another "Money in the Bank" match and therefore not want two ladder matches on the card. -

Agreed. As for the film itself, I vote Yay for everthing other than Anthony Michael Hall getting stoned.

I agree with the match not being part of the tournament but I don't see how it would have been "boring as hell" considering the excellent, and well received, match the two had on Nitro in October '99. As for Impact this week, it was awful. I just kept thinking how little sense most the show made. Lance Storm was spot on with his comments on the show. I felt like I was watching a particularly bad episode of Nitro from 2000 during Russo's second reign of terror. The whole thing just emphasised everything that is wrong with TNA today. They need to get rid of Russo now before he totally runs the company into the ground with his illogical, "crash TV" booking style. Nothing is given any kind of time to have a lasting impression. You simply can't take it all in. Why he was re-hired I'll never understand because he is just fucking awful.

Some favourite moments: - Warlord being elimated right after he steps in the ring in '89. - Bret Hart jumping both Owen Hart and Bob Backlund on their way to the ring in '95. - Vader destroying a bunch of guys in '96. - Steve Austin's face when Bret Hart's music hit in '97. - Bob Backlund as a surprise entrant in 2000. - Kane destroying Honky Tonk Man in 2001. - Shannon Moore sacrificing himself for Matt Hardy in 2003. - Ernest Miller in 2004.

I thought that was the plan until Orton ended up getting suspended.

Every week I read the WON posts and think that WWE can't get any more stupid...then I read the next weeks and it raises the bar for sheer stupidity. I like how WWE pushed Michaels hard on Raw only to read that he's going to be put into another feud with Vince McMahon for the second Wrestlemania running. Bob Holly, top heel? He's been with the company for around 13 years and achieved nothing. Suddenly, because the agents seemingly fear for their jobs, he's been touted as a top heel. It's nice to see Arn Anderson passing the blame once again this week. I feel sorry for Sabu and Sandman. RVD and CM Punk need to get out of this company as soon as possible. They dropped the ball with RVD years ago and now they won't even bother to try and make Punk a star. Despite the fact that he's already over with the fans. But it's his own fault because he has an "attitude". And don't forget the midgets. I'm sure they'll only serve to piss people off. Finally, to those who wish to bash MMA. Don't do it in a WWE thread. Most WWE programming contains very bad in ring content that follows the same formula. At least MMA provides some variety. EDIT: Thanks for posting these Decemberists.

After re-watching the rumble matches from 1989-2006 again I'd have to go with 1990 for my favourite. For all WWE are billing this year's match as the most star studded ever I would have to with the 1990 version. It had plenty of action and mini-feuds as well as the first confrontation between Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior.

That looked really bad. However, I found it amusing that Tenay added a bunch of hand actions to it.

I hope they let him do his full big entrance, that way... 2 or 3 other superstars can come in while he's still drinking a beer. Then he can come in, cane everyone in sight, hit the White Russian Legsweep, and then Shelton can kick him out, or Finlay could toss him out. It would be awesome if that happened. I thought the rule was if you didn't make it to the ring before the next guy came out....you were eliminated. Remember Nunzio a few years ago? Or The Big Bossman a few years ago. Though I never heard of that rule. I think they only ever used it in '91 when Randy Savage didn't come out for the match.
