WON News + Notes, December 25th Issue

True, although to my knowledge, Bravo doesnt have the ad breaks every 15 minutes, which is what winds me up. a 3 hour PPV should not take 4 hours to air. I'll admit the ad breaks every fifteen minutes are annoying but stop moaning. You got the shows for free a week after they aired and still you bitch.

My feelings exactly. I just hope it not another "The Island" but it's starting to look that way. That said, I'll still be seeing it when it's released.

Comments that don't warrant a thread

On a similar note to the last line, I just re-watched the last ten minutes of the last Raw before Wrestlemania 13, the cage match between Sid and Bret, in which Taker slams the door on Bret's head, allowing Sid to escape. What followed was Bret knocking Vince down, droppping a few "bullshit" and "god damn"....What I always forget about that 15 minutes was that Bret called out Austin, citing "everybody in that god damned dressing room knows Im the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be"....Sid then came to the ring yelling "I DON'T KNOW SHIT!" Thought that warranted a mention. I always liked Sid's "I have half the brain you do" comment towards Kevin Nash on Nitro back in '99.

  21. Show himself has admitted that he lives on junk food and never works out. For people to say that nagging injuries have left him in the shape he's in is just stupid. He had a world of potential as a legit giant and he was just too lazy to try. I guess you don't get that it's fairly hard to work out with constant nagging injuries especially considering his condition and size. "potential legit giant"?, he IS a giant. Being a legitimate giant isn't like being a really tall guy. Shaq is tall but TBS has gigantism. You seem to have misunderstood me. I meant that with him being a legit giant and with the potential he showed when he first came to WCW he could have been a major star. He didn't seem to have all these nagging injuries until his weight got out of hand. He has nobody to blame but himself.

WON News + Notes, 4th December Issue

Just a shame it made zero dollars and did nothing for either man. Oh for the love of puddin' Could you take off those "Smark-glasses"you're wearing? Do I personally care if it made money? no - I was entertained by it. Do I care that by *your* definition it did nothing for either man? - no I was entertained by it. That's what matters to me, not if it "drew money" or "Put someone over" - my criteria is simple: Entertain me That did, no shame in anything about it - only shame is people later on being so smarky-snarky that how much money they drew makes a difference in what they think of something. I guess we don’t need to get you The Big Book of Clichés for Christmas. I’ll quote a guy who knew a thing or two about wrestling. You might have heard of him. His name was Fred Blassie. “Promos are made to draw money. They are not for any other reason. Anyone who does a promo for another reason is doing one for the wrong reason.” Substitute promo for skit, and you’ve got a general idea of why I, thinking of this from a business standpoint, did not like the skit in question. As a fan, I thought it was moderately amusing. Not the funniest of skits, though it was one of WWE’s best. But putting aside what I thought as a fan and looking at the big picture, something a lot of people are unwilling to do because that would mean thinking of something other than their own enjoyment, the skit did less than nothing. It made Steve Austin look like a midcard joke, which is the exact opposite of the Austin character that draws. It made Angle look like more of a goof when he had just made strides to being a more serious character, which might have helped him draw something because goofs do not draw. If the purpose of the skit was to amuse people, then great, because it did that. Contrary to what you seem to think, I never said it was wrong to be amused by it. In fact, I was amused by it. But just because I was amused by the skit that does not mean I’m going to sit here with a smiley face and ignore that the skit did nothing in any way that could draw money or help draw money, which is the only right reason to do a promo or skit. I'm starting to wonder if HTQ actually enjoys wrestling or just enjoys picking it apart and over analysing it.
  25. I think they are just hoping for a crowd at this point. http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/wo/news/h...t.asp?aID=18028
