They would be incorrect.

I think this proves the writing team don't know what will make people stars. I mean, why would making a British wrestler a pirate make him a superhero? Do they think we have "pirate fever" over here in the UK with kids running up down streets wearing eye patches and waving plastic swords?

I think "The Replacement Killers" was a bit of a mess. It tried to hard to be a hong kong action flick and almost ended up like a parody instead. That said, I'm a Chow Yun-Fat fan so I did some enjoyment from it. I prefer his hong kong work like "A Better Tomorrow", "City on Fire", "The Killer" and "Hard Boiled".

I wish WWE would put the same kind of effort into finding and pushing new wrestlers as they do with these Diva Searches. Also, isn't Sabu under contract to TNA?

Everything to get him over? Are you kidding me. They've done the opposite IMO. Lets start with the one month title run which included a botched face turn and an even worse face character. Lets talk about Batista getting pushed ahead of him because Orton's character was ruined. His run on SD wasnt any better. He should have beaten Undertaker at Armagedon but he didnt. Then he gets pinned by Rey at WM22 and again on Smackdown. I can see why he'd be pissed right now. Granted, the face turn after he won the title was a bad idea. However, he was still pushed into the main event by WWE and stayed there until his loss to Triple H at the Royal Rumble. After that he was put into a high profile feud with the Undertaker. Then, despite coming out on the losing end of that he was pushed into the Smackdown main even for Wrestlemania 22 where he was supposed to originally win the title. It seems to me that WWE have done everything to get him over. I don't see why Orton should be pissed at all, he's the one who fucked up his chances.

Count me in on that one. I'd love to see it. -

Movies that everyone loves that you cannot get the love for
Si82 replied to Masked Man of Mystery's topic in Television & Film
I fucking hated "The Pianist". It bored me senseless, could wait for it to end. I cannot not understand why the critics went nuts for it. And can someone explain the appeal of "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels"? It was just fucking shit. -
He does indeed.

Because... it's not much of a prestigious belt if any old wrestler get's a shot every week on TV. They're trying to build the belt to mean something, and having it defended on TV every week would not help towards that aim at all as surely not everyone who would be having these title shots would be anywhere near deserving. Plus, the idea then is that the NWA title match becomes something special and merely the fact the belt is on the line and the Champ is in action can help draw a bigger buyrate, or, if needed, pop a TV rating for a special Impact! or something. It's the same reason Flair didn't defend the NWA title on WorldWide or whatever every week during the 1980s. However, Christian does need to be on Impact more, even if it's just doing commentary or something on a match to keep him - and the title - in the minds of the fans. I can understand that but you don't have to have defend it every week. Just from time to time. I kind of doubt that the fact the title only ever seems to be defended at PPV's makes the matches any more appealing to people. It just seems that Christian has done nothing with the belt other than one crappy match with Monty Brown. In my eyes, it makes him look like a weak champion.

Who? Dave Lagana, he's a writer for Smackdown. Haas blasted him in a number of interviews after his release.

Book it WWE!

Despite the mixed reviews it has recieved I'm quite liking "The Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living" by The Streets. I think it's slightly better and far easier to get into than "A Grand Don't Come for Free". However, if you don't like The Streets this isn't going to chance your opinion.

What's the point in having Samoa Joe regain the X Division Championship? Shouldn't they be concentrating on moving him up into the heavyweight division instead? His loss at Destination X would have been a perfect setup as he could have claimed to have never have been pinned or made to submit and, as such, his undeafted streak was still intact. As much as I love Joe, and the X division, I can only see this leading to yet more Joe/Daniels/Styles matches. TNA need to start booking Christian in matches on Impact. He just looks like a shitty a champion when he never seems to defend a title he harps on a about being so prestigious. Also, does anyone know what name Spike Dudley is using in TNA?

Funny, I thought they would hold Summerslam 2008 at MSG. Following the pattern of '88 and '98.
