Well, the fact that Mark Henry wasn't the one bitching every time the company did anything raunchy probably tipped the scales a tad. Hadn't Henry also just won the Worlds strongest man competition, so Vince probably felt bringing in Henry would bring in new viewers Actually, Mark Henry had just competed at the 1996 Olympics when Vince signed him. He didn't get very far however, due to injury I believe.

Can anyone tell me what it was?

I guess your sources told you this. Well I know him personally and have seen most of his stuff in OVW. I also think I'm qualified to determin whether or not someone is a good worker... Ok. May I ask why you feel you can determine who is a good worker? Also, if you know the guy personally isn't that going to make your opinion a little more biased towards him?

WWE re-using ideas? Surely not!

A more well-rounded performer? Very happy with his progress in recent years? High hopes for 2005? None of these things make any sense to me. I mean, in the 8 years he has been working for WWF/WWE Mark Henry has shown no wrestling abality at all. I know he is on a stupid 10 year, $1 million a year contract and that is probably why they are pushing him (again!) but really after this long shouldn't WWE understand that Mark Henry is never going to mean anything to wrestling? They have high hopes, they need help.

Friends I just cannot understand why people find this show funny. I really can't. I hated Sex and the City too.

He didn't work 'main event style'. It was the same excuse given to bury anyone coming in that certain people didn't want to let get over. If someone wrestled in something other than the 'main event style', it was an excuse for people to claim they couldn't work, and so that person would get buried. It's the typical insular mentality, where anything that isn't done their way is automatically wrong, regardless of whether it actually is. It's great to see this guys help the survival of the company by building new stars. I don't see how we can get DVD releases from WWE where they bash WCW for not building new stars when they do exactly the same things. How do they manage to keep a straight face? I suppose, they are just used to lying for a living that it just becomes second nature to them. The mentally of these people is insane.

The match was in Tacoma, WA, the same site as WCW Spring Stampede 99. I don't remember any of the fans crapping on that show. Indeed they didn't. The crowd was hot for Spring Stampede '99. Mind you the crowd didn't even give the match a chance. But that's what will happen when you constantly bash the competition and then try to present it as being on the same level as the WWF. After all, Vince told them WCW was crap.

I think that will be countered by WWE OFFICIAL HISTORY deeming him the best EVAHHH! Surely he'll be the second best ever...to Triple H of course. Who will no doubt have the backing of Flair. This is an odd question in that, and most people have brought this up, he will be remembered very differently by different generations of wrestling fans. Older fans will think he is the best ever, one of the best ever or a guy who pissed away what good will he had with them. Newer wrestling fans, however, will probably remember as the crazy old man who used to kiss Triple H's ass every week.

My favourite too. From DDT Digest: Classic!

I'd say you should get "Who Killed the Zutons" by The Zutons, "Antics" by Interpol and "Hot Fuss" by The Killers.
