He does fill out a uniform well. And god, the Reds have to face God again, and nobody likes going face to face with god.

Comments which don't warrant a thread

Keller didn't say that exactly, here's what he said: Lots of murky details coming from those on the European tour with Randy Orton. The gist of the story is he was a mess during the tour in general, and may have damaged his hotel room after being told he was being sent home, which would be contrary to initial reports that he was sent home because of the hotel incident. In any case, says one wrestler, "Nobody likes him, nobody feels sorry for him, nobody cares if he gets suspended or fired." Another WWE source says he's "just a screwed up kid" who needs therapy before he'll ever be reliable and reach his potential. Says another: "He's known for always having a piss-poor attitude" and "being a nice guy one minute, and a jerk the next"… Orton being sent home had nothing to do with Shawn Michaels and John Cena going 60 minutes on Raw last week. That was planned before Orton was sent home early. WWE management wants to punish Orton, and is considering several options short of a suspension, including fines and moving him off of the Raw brand or leaving him off a lucrative high-profile PPV like Summerslam… Stephanie McMahon's job title was upgraded to Executive Vice President of Creative, and now John Laurenaitis reports directly to her rather than Vince McMahon. He always worked under Steph, but now she's officially his boss. Michael Hayes and Brian Gewirtz have been given V.P. titles as head writers of Smackdown and Raw, respectively… The talk of reforming the Four Horsemen as a way to promote the DVD released last month never got far because Arn Anderson's neck and arm atrophy would prevent him from doing anything respectable in the ring. Although he works out with wrestlers in the ring sometimes, it would be obvious to fans he wasn't able to fully function because of his hand, and Arn wouldn't want to be remembered that way. The Horsemen idea never included anyone new, and would have just been Ric Flair, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, and Arn for a short-term reunion of some type… Vince McMahon proposed a stalker angle earlier this year (presumably for Mike Knox and Kelly Kelly), but Dusty Rhodes told him they already tried that with Dallas Page and it didn't work out so well. McMahon was said to have zero recollection of the DDP-Undertaker stalking angle… WWE announced this week the discontinuation of it's WWE Fantasy league at WWE.com. The league may have become more trouble than it was worth, as there were often scoring discrepancies because of errors in the point tallies and delays between TV tapings and the airing of shows… The Associated Press reported this week that former WWE exec James K. Bell and former licensing agent Stanley Shenker were sentenced today in a kickback scheme from the 1998-2002. Shenker, 61, pleaded guilty in January of conspiring to defraud WWE of honest services by paying kickbacks totalling nearly $1 million to Bell, 52, a WWE exec with influence over licensing decisions. Shenker was sentenced to eight months in prison; Shenker 33 months. Shenker deducted the kickbacks, which were disguised as "consulting service" payments. Shenker was ordered to pay $2.8 million in restitution to WWE, while Bell was ordered to pay back $950,000 and pay $6,000 in fines… As of this week, Rob Van Dam is said to be planning to leave WWE when his contract expires in August. At the end of February earlier this year, he had stopped an auto-rollover of his contract that would have taken effect at the end of August. He wanted to negotiate for a lighter schedule, extended time off later this year, and perhaps a pay raise. WWE, as of the latest negotiations, has not offered RVD his desired amount of time off, so he is giving indications that he will choose to leave rather than accept their latest offer, a source close to RVD tells PWTorch. It's considered likely he'll sign with TNA after he leaves WWE, which means WWE may begin to phase him out of ECW and use him to elevate others before he leaves. There is still a chance WWE will meet RVD's demands, but as of now, that appears unlikely… Shawn Michaels began coming out to his old music because they were planning to move him away from the straight babyface DX character and more toward an edgier tweener. They also didn't want fans anticipating Triple H every week coming to help Michaels, especially since they're not sure at this point what Hunter will be programmed to do when he returns. Being linked to Michaels is far from a lock… Catching up on some former WWE divas, Dawn Marie's lawsuit against WWE for wrongful termination is still being argued by lawyers. She has hired two high-profile law firms to represent her case. She is also said to be penning a book about her experiences in pro wrestling… Former WWE diva Nidia had a baby girl two weeks ago named Lilith. She is now teaching yoga classes, something she strongly considered doing even before WWE forced her hand, as her preference is to live a simple, lower-key life than that associated with the lifestyle of WWE… Shelton Benjamin moved to Texas to live near good friends Jackie Gayda and Charlie Haas. Shortly thereafter Umaga moved in right next door to Benjamin… Rena Mero (Sable) remains married to Brock Lesnar, supporting him as he trains for MMA. Lesnar was spotted last week eating lunch at Sally's in St. Paul, a well-known eating establishment near his alma mater, the University of Minnesota… Tom Prichard, now that WWE has dumped the Deep South developmental deal, may end up as head trainer as a new developmental territory being considered in Florida… Smackdown on Apr. 27 went head-to-head with a UFC Fight Night replay. Smackdown drew a 2.6 household rating (4.2 million viewers, the same as the same week in 2006) compared to a 0.9 rating for the UFC Fight Night replay. Among the key male demo of 18-49, Smackdown drew a 1.8 among while UFC drew 0.8. Among men 18-34, SD drew a 1.7 compared to UFC's 0.8…

No doubt, I'm not saying it's a sure thing by any means, but his start is pretty encouraging. At the beginning of the season I was hopeful but didn't really know what to expect, but the more I see him play the more I think he's for real. For one thing, he has a great eye, and about half of his home runs have went to the opposite field, meaning he's not just pulling fastballs.

Would you trade him for Chris Coste? If no, the correct answer is "not yet." You do realize that's a completely inaccurate comparison I hope. Coste played for a Divison 3 college, and ind. ball for years due to a lack of talent, and had a great spring but didn't have tons of pure talent. Josh Hamilton was considered the most talented player of his generation when drafted. In high school he had a fast ball that reached 95 mph, and would've been the number pick as a pitcher, but had Ken Griffey Jr. and A-Rod talent as a hitter. Show me a comparison with a player with his pure talent and I'll agree with you, but I certainly hope you're not saying Coste has the natural ability of Hamilton. And for the record I have no doubt Hamilton will face ups and downs as pitchers adjust, that happens to everyone. But to group him with the likes of Coste and Shane Spencer isn't really looking at the entire picture in my opinion.

These are Josh Hamilton's stats through the today's game: Avg. 306 HR 8 RBI 17 Runs 19 OBP .398 Slg. .671 OPS 1.069 All while playing gold glove defense with the best outfield arm in baseball. All spring I heard he was just a spring wonder, and there was no way he could hit major league pitching after his 4 year layoff. At what point is it okay to get excited?

Don't count out the Astros yet, the Reds have a habit of not playing add on, and then the bullpen comes in and it's a new game.

Wow, you broke up in November and she's engaged in December. I get the feeling she had a high on base percentage this past summer.

The problem is I'm not basing my hatred of Dunn over one month. Here are his stats: Age 24: Avg. .266 Slg. .569 OPS. .957 OBP .388 Age 25: Avg. .247 Slg. .540 OPS. .927 OBP .387 Age 26: Avg. .234 Slg. .490 OPS. .855 OBP .365 Age 27: Avg. .259 Slg. .482 OPS. .839 OBP .357 Jesus Christ, how the fuck does that even happen without injury. In theory he should be getting better, at this rate what will he be by 30? It means he had one year where his stats dropped off slightly. Alexander Rodriguez also did this, and he's the worst player in baseball because of it. So, yeah, you're right. Or, maybe Dunn will continue to hit 40 HRs per year, ground into 3 DPs despite in 160 games despite being a giant hoss, continue to have a respectable OBP, and be a very valuable player for many years. But, I guess I just don't understand how it feels to pull for the kid who pissed away all his talent and became a failure, yet having one hot week makes him an inspiration. I'd be all for Dunn signing at a low cost. But I think they can get something better for 13 million a year, and that's what his option is for. Dunn has gotten progressively worse every year at a time when he should be getting better.

As for the rest, Hatteberg is horrible as a starter at first, Milton blows, Griffey is done and Phillips is like watching Willie Mays Hayes play every fucking day. And Ross is beyond horrible, vomit inducing comes to mind.

Pence sounds like a poor man's Josh Hamilton. Too bad he didn't start playing another year or he could have won ROY, but that award has already been taken for 2007. I dunno. Hamilton's been cooling down a bit. He's only hitting .288. And there is the possibility of the "face-down in the gutter/smack off of a stripper's ass" scenario. Do the Marlins have any good rookies? When in doubt, pick the Fish. He does have a 5 game hitting streak, and he just missed a home run tonight when he hit a ball off the wall in the deepest part of the Pittsburgh park. The problem he's facing now is since he's the only hitter in the Reds lineup worth shit he gets walked or pitched around in tons of situations. The Reds moved him to the 3 hole because he's the only guy on the team who know's how to swing a bat, and because of this he's swinging a little more as pitchers don't mind walking him anymore. Since Adam Dunn has decided to continue to suck ass, and has been moved down to the 7th spot, and since Griffey is a grandpa the Reds pretty much have nothing, and he's easy to walk. Essentially I just want to get through this year, get rid of Dunn, Milton, Hatteberg, have only one year left on Griffey, and dump David Ross. I then take that 30 million per year and spend it entirely on a new offense. Since Hamilton can play any outfield position and I don't care about anyone else, I don't care about positions, just picking out some good players.

Wasn't Tom Cruise paid more than that for the Mission Impossible series because he got such a large percentage of the gate?

Oh, and Leena thinks Im lying...seems to be a trend with me and women lately..doh Last year I stayed in a hotel outside of Fairfax for a week for a baseball tournament and I got to watch some of the baltimore tv network. And even at his advanced age I thought, "Damn, that is a handsome man," when I saw Jim Palmer.

Won't help. From 50-100 plate appearances I just change the reference to Shane Spencer. I really think you're missing the point. Hamilton's pure talent is more A-Rod and Griffey in his prime than the guys you talk about. That's the difference. I'm not saying he's going to be an all star but to just discount everything doesn't make much sense. Also, Shane Spencer didn't not play ball for 3 full years, pick up a bat having never seen major league pitching and immediatly crush it. Think about the pure talent that takes, I've never heard of anything like it except a player named Roy.

What's impressive is he took an outside curve and came within a foot of a homer when he hit if off the top of the wall for a double. And he then smashed a high inside fastball over the right field fence for a 3 run bomb.
