12th straight quality start for Edinson Volquez, who goes to 10-2 after beating the yankees. Something funny though is Cincy Shortstops, I'm not sure if this has ever happened to Cincy, maybe someone here can say if it's happened to their favorite team. Coming into season Shortstops Alex Gonzalez--Put on DL with a broken knee Jeff Keppinger takes over--put on DL with a broken knee Jerry Hairston Jr. takes over--put on DL with a broken thumb Jolbert Cabrera takes over--put on DL with a dislocated thumb All of that by mid June Paul Janish you're next, be afraid, be very afraid. They're on their 5th ss by mid-June, none removed because of play, all due to injury.

Thing I love about MLB.tv is that within an hour of the game being over it is archived and free. If you don't mind watching a game an hour after it's completion there is no point in buying the service. Last year this is how i watched reds games when i worked.

Heaven needed a journalist to cover all those wrestling matches I heard about whenever a wrestler died. He's probably covering Brian Adams/Lou Thez right now!!!

Today was the turning point game for me as a reds fan for this year. It's time to start selling off the vets and building on their good young talent for 09. I really don't think they're far off, and they might compete next year, but they're not catching the cubs and it's looking like they won't be able to get it together enough to compete for the wildcard. Oh well, tonight I'm driving up to Chicago with 2 of my friends. I have tickets to all three cubs-braves games on Tues-Thurs of this week. I'm not singing that song though.

Pringles inventor buried in Pringles can!!! CINCINNATI - The man who designed the Pringles potato crisp packaging system was so proud of his accomplishment that a portion of his ashes has been buried in one of the iconic cans. Fredric J. Baur, of Cincinnati, died May 4 at Vitas Hospice in Cincinnati, his family said. He was 89. Baur's children said they honored his request to bury him in one of the cans by placing part of his cremated remains in a Pringles container in his grave in suburban Springfield Township. The rest of his remains were placed in an urn buried along with the can, with some placed in another urn and given to a grandson, said Baur's daughter, Linda Baur of Diamondhead, Miss. Baur requested the burial arrangement because he was proud of his design of the Pringles container, a son, Lawrence Baur of Stevensville, Mich., said Monday. Baur was an organic chemist and food storage technician who specialized in research and development and quality control for Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble Co. Baur filed for a patent for the tubular Pringles container and for the method of packaging the curved, stacked chips in the container in 1966, and it was granted in 1970, P&G archivist Ed Rider said. Baur retired from P&G in the early 1980s.

Boomshackalacka Before Monday’s game, Adam Dunn was busily hooking something up to a clubhouse TV. “It’s old-school, man. Real old-school,” said Dunn. “It’s a Sega Genesis game. NBA Jam. I play one game every day at home against our video guy (Jeff Graupe). We’ve been winning at home, so I brought him on the road.” Asked who usually won, Dunn said, “You need to ask?” Then he and Graupe played and Dunn lost, “In triple overtime. You believe that?” Dunn hit a two-run double in Monday night’s game, but the Reds lost, 5-4. NBA Jam does rule, can't really blame anyone for playing it everyday.

    Beverly Hills Cop IV

courtesy of reuters/yahoo Eddie Murphy to return as "Beverly Hills Cop" If Indiana Jones can make a successful comeback after almost 20 years, why not the Beverly Hills Cop? Paramount Pictures has given the go-ahead for a fourth installment of its "Beverly Hills Cop" franchise, with Eddie Murphy on board to return to the role that launched his movie career, the studio said on Thursday. Brett Ratner, the filmmaker behind the similarly themed "Rush Hour" movies starring Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan, is in negotiations to direct the latest "Beverly Hills Cop" adventure, a Paramount spokesman said. Lorenzo di Bonaventura ("Transformers") will produce. The film is expected to begin filming next year for a summer 2010 release. According to Daily Variety, it was Murphy, 47, who approached the Viacom Inc-owned studio about reviving the film series in which he plays a Detroit police detective, Axel Foley, who ends up chasing crooks in Beverly Hills, California. The original 1984 film and its two sequels, the last of which opened in 1994, collectively grossed more than $735 million in theaters worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. The first movie alone took in over $316 million globally. The decision to make "Beverly Hills Cop IV" follows Paramount's success with the revival of its "Indiana Jones" franchise after 19 years. The fourth film in that series, "The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," opened last Thursday and grossed nearly $152 million in its first five days in domestic release. Murphy's last two films, the live-action comedy "Norbit" and the animated storybook satire "Shrek the Third," in which he supplied the voice of a talking donkey, grossed $159 million and $799 million worldwide, respectively, according to Box Office Mojo. Beverly Hills Cop IV

Will Murphy actually break his string of just doing family style comedy for this? If not it will be horrible, however, if he's willing to be somewhat edgy again for this role it could be good.

Mr. Bruce went 2-3 today with another home run, scored 2 runs, had 2 RBI's and a walk. 13-22 with 6 walks and a hit by pitch, 2 home runs (1 a walkoff), 3 doubles and 2 stolen bases. Hitting .591, with an OBP of .690, not a bad first week.

Just got back from the reds game, bruce followed up his 4-5 by going 3-5 with a walk and the walkoff home run. Bruce is now 11-19 with five walks and a hit by pitch, in his first 25 big league at bats he's reached base 17 times. He must be approaching one of the best starts to a career ever. It's tough, Hamilton was my favorite player last year and will be one of the best players in the game as long as he is healthy and off the drugs. An outfield of Hamilton, Bruce and Dunn for the next 6 years would be simply amazing (possibly the best hitting outfield ever). But, Volquez has been so good. I take Volquez over Hamilton, I just wish we would've traded someone else. And there are a surprising number of reds fans here, most don't post much, but I think there are like 6 or so in total. I know Hawk, Dandy, myself, Dmann and there are a few others that post every once in a while.

    So, "Ring of Hell"...

Lagana asked Thorn "Would he like to fuck his face" while rubbing his nipples. Thorn told Taker, Taker went to the office with it. It says nothing about Taker being "intrigued". Christ, I was just joking dude. I figured that was obvious.

Jay Bruce went 4-5 tonight, hit a double, scored 2 runs, and had an RBI. He either scored or knocked in all 3 reds runs in a win. He is now 8 for 14 with four walks and a hit by pitch. In 19 plate appearances he has reached base 13 times

    So, "Ring of Hell"...

Yeah, Jason Powell said that Lagana approached Thorn in the shower and told him he'd blow his mind with a blow job. Thorn was nervous (if not a little intrigued) and went to Undertaker. Taker thought it over (he also was a bit intrigued) but ultimately decided to go to talent relations.

Just got back from the reds game, bruce went 1-3 with a double, a walk, a SB and a run. Hit the ball hard twice, once was a lineout to center. Uh oh, they're breaking into the cubs game for Manny's AB now. Bruce has reached base in 8 of his first 10 plate appearances.
