OAO ECW Week 4 on Sci-Fi, July 4th
Angle-plex replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm excited to see if TEST and THE VAMPIRE show up. -
But who, in 2006, actually believes everything they see on a pro wrestling show? I know a nine year old that loves watching and knows it's fake and who's favorite wrestlers are Flair, Hogan, and Angle, yet he knows nothing about backstage politics. What would he be?
-
Good movie. They got so many little things right like the music, opening credits, and final shot to go along with the great story. That's why Batman Begins was blah to me; it got the overall tone right but lacked cool little moments (besides when R'as died, which totally destoryed Batman's character as we know it). Probably the 2nd best comic movie after V for Vendetta of the last few years.

By those definitions I would say the majority of the wrestling fans are smarks, which contradicts a lot of what people post here.
-
I agree with HTQ though. It just irks me when people are saying so and so wrestler can't get a title shot because the fans don't think he's credible or something. Maybe the mark/smark concept worked in the 80s/dirsheet days but the internet have made all fans the same.
-
Yeah that was a good show this week.
-
The second one screams "America luv it or leave it !!!11!"
-
Yeah that main event was horrible. That was one of the best free TV matches they have had in a while. I can't see how anyone would say this episode of ECW was bad. It was the best one out of the 3. It was the best out of three horrible shows. RVD/Cena was better than the RVD/Angle match tonight. And I'm an Angle mark. Can't see how anyone would say this was bad? Kelly striptease repeat segment, big show/dreamer repeat segment, Sandman repeat segment, Vampire repeat segment, Test return promo, fat naked WWE creative team member, "We Want Cena" chants by a Smackdown crowd when Cena isn't in ECW or Smackdown, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE announcing (can they say "Extreme" again? Taz is the worst). And all of that is in a ONE HOUR SHOW. How anyone can say this show was good is beyond me.
-
Awful show. The opener was ok for a spotfest but the rest was terrible. The main event was blah (just because it was 20 minutes doesn't mean it was good) and felt like a Smackdown 2001 match. Rope breaks? Awesome. The rest was so bad I won't even acknowledge it. Thumbs down.

Who gives a shit if Cena is a draw? None of us own WWE so why is there an argument over something so irrelevent? The ECW storyline makes me like Cena a little more. They have done a good job making him into the "fighting champion with no wrestling skills". I would still fast foward a backstage Cena interview (like last night) but I like seeing his interaction with the crowd and other wrestlers I like. At least he doesn't overact like Spirit Squad and Edge and is somewhat believable that a middle class white guy would try to act like a thug.
-
Well, the ECW crowd is going to boo RVD tonight.
-
Ugh. None of this was necessary and makes most (myself included) skip over the rest of the post.
-
Kane killing Kane 2 and the main event were the only watchable parts on this show. I guess Mickie vs Trish was ok but boy Melina is a dog.
-
Jesus I'm glad I never saw that.
-
Sounds like an average RAW + a RVD/Edge title match with a $39.95 price tag.

ECW's return to the ECW Arena - Live Results
Angle-plex replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
They have a bikini contest, Big Show, and Sandman come out to shitty music (which even Heyman admits) and then Heyman tries to rationalize to the hardcore ECW fans. He's just wasting his time trying to win them back, at least this soon after the abomination of the debut show. -
Just curious: Anyone here like the NIN "Hurt" more than Cash's? I've always favored NIN's, probably because I heard it first.

The opening video is really fucking corny.

Hasbeen the answer is clearly that you are better than the rest of us.

Wow somebody called someone a murderer wah wah who gives a shit. It's not a big deal. I love Luger. He and Warrior must start a promotion together. I love that though so much I may open EWR to pretend it happens.

I think that title track is actually bashed too often these days. It's not the greatest song and it's definetly overplayed but that's no fault of Lennon's. It never blows me away but I can listen to it and still consider it a good song. The CD overall is decent but it can't touch many of the Beatles later albums and it's not in the same ballpark as Harrison's "All Things Must Pass".
-
I guess Austin vs Michaels at WMXIV. I do remember a Michaels vs Bulldog match at a house show in '96 I believe and a Razor vs Jarrett ladder match at a house show in '95 also being good matches.

The OAO Mystery Science Theater 3000 Thread
Angle-plex replied to DMann2003's topic in Television & Film
I agree. It's kind of like an ugly dog that you know it's ugly but still love it anyways. The Final Sacrafice has been REMOVED from Youtube. However, another good episode, Night of the Blood Beast, it there now.
