Proof? (and one good match with Michaels doesn't = "can outwork 95% of the roster")
-
That'd be reasonable, if he hadn't been jobbed out the past month. Like I said, I don't like the guy, I don't think he's ready for singles matches, and I don't think he'll ever be good enough to be a main eventer, but his treament after holding the IC title has been questionable. Maybe Vince decided that Shelton wasn't ready or something.
-
The first movie was awful. Everything from the acting to the editing to the directing was bad, and even though the twist was ok, it didn't matter by that point.
-
Five PPVs a year with the current creative team would be brutal. The RAW team has had a hard enough time just booking from Vengeance to SummerSlam while still managing to rehash material week after week.
-
I don't like the guy, but man, Shelton must have pissed someone in the back off.
-
And what does Chris Masters use to have a "good match"?? Ah, that's right. He's never had one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Shelton's had one "good" match in his singles career with Michaels, and he's also been on the main shows for a few years now. Masters hasn't had a good match yet, but he just started working the main shows this year, and he hasn't had a top match or opponent yet. Who's the best guy who fought? A WWE watered down Tajiri for two minutes? Shelton's got to face Jericho, Orton, Triple H, Michaels.....
-
Who? Oh, the guy that does things the "con way" then beats Val Venis and Viscera clean? No thanks...
-
Lost cause probably wasn't the right word. I was trying to say that I think there is a .1% chance that he'll be pushed as a main eventer in his next couple of years with WWE, so I don't expect Michaels to "pass the torch" to him.
-
If Shawn should job clean against anyone, it's Cena or (dun dun dun) Chris Masters. Masters already looks credible, and it would be somewhat believable to have Michaels pass out from the Masterlock, at this point anyways. Definetly not Shelton "so much potential" Benjamin with his lack of ability to speak clearly and lack of using his brain in the ring to have a good match instead of just using his athletic ability to do a bunch of good spots. RVD is a lost cause at this point.
-
Needs more Alfdogg. Kidding (obviously). I'm going to listen to it after work, but I think it's a cool idea anyways. EDIT: Oh, and there are too many pinned topics on this page. Lets get rid of some!

Austin and Hogan has the potential to be a good wrestling match as well. Neither of the two can execute moves very well, but there is more to a match than that. Of course, I'm probably the only person here who would give Rock/Hogan ***, and Austin is a billion times a better wrestler than Rock, but that's just one man's opinion.
-
*shrug* It's certainly more enjoyable than watching cena or hogan or chris masters. I don't think there's anything wrong with "meaningless" ridiculous spots. And that's certainly not all SB does in the ring. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What else does Shelton do in the ring besides spots? He seems to bump good, but saying he does anything at this point in his career is insane. Not to mention I HATE the "Whip my foot around so it goes back into your face" spot. HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT! At this point I'd rather watch Hogan or Masters. Masters is much better than expected, and he and his finishers are very credible right now, which helps his matches. Hogan's execution of moves is horrible since he's so old, but at least he can put together and sell a match to the audience.
-
Because some of us are entertained by a good wrestling match by someone with tons of athletic talent? If by "good wrestling" you mean "meaningless, ridiculous spots that build to nothing and are just thrown together in any order" than I can see why you like Shelton Benjamin.
-
Storyline wise, at least from what I saw, it seemed like Bret gave Hogan the OK to go to the ring to try to get the title while Hogan was more concerned with checking up on Bret. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But I thought this whole thing was a SHOOT~! No? It seems like sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't, which makes the whole angle a mess.
-
Tried to watch this show, but I gave up pretty early on and only caught the last interview. It was good, and Hogan bringing up how Shawn screwed Bret was cool, but did he forget about a little event called WrestleMania IX? Hogan's charisma is off the charts though, and he really showed that tonight.

HHH and Ric Flair's return date to TV announced
Angle-plex replied to algrim's topic in The WWE Folder
Actually, it's more like--Just because you hate Cena, doesn't mean everyone else does. Well, the majority. That's what we're aiming for here. The WWE couldn't care less what one motherfucker thinks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, the majority of fans...in arenas that aren't sold out, sometimes half-full. The real majority aren't watching anymore. -
Well, this is an "odd" show, which means we get all the new matches this week. Next week is the "rematch" week, which I've never particularly been a fan of...
-
While both men have their limitations, and the execution of the match wouldn't be pretty, lets not forget that both Austin and Hogan are two of the best in-ring storytellers in wrestling EVER. I honestly think that if the crowd was right and the match was booked properly, many people would be surprised of how decent of a match it would be.
-
I think Shawn will stay a face after the match with Hogan. The card will probably suck. Cena has no credible opponents right now. There is no tag division. There is no IC division. Cena vs a heel HBK would be best but I think Cena and Angle will main event while all the other matches are quickly thrown together and meaningless.

HHH and Ric Flair's return date to TV announced

Shawn was over and didn't draw either, so the point is mute. He's essentially been the same character for three years now, and despite being "extremely over", he hasn't changed the ratings a bit on either Smackdown or RAW. Hogan was a MUCH better worker than Cena. Better sense of timing, crowd psychology, and storytelling by far. Probably still is, but I can't say for sure until SummerSlam. -

That doesn't make any sense. Cena is over with people who watch the product. Saying he's not over with people who don't watch doesn't work, because you could say that about everyone. Read the live reports. Cena usually gets the biggest pops and the biggest merch seller. I remember being at the final Boston Garden show. Diesel faced Sid in the main event. Diesel also got the loudest pop of the night. Diesel was also the worst drawing champion ever. The WWE should be trying to get the fans they lost back, not just desperatly trying to keep the current fans they have. Cena's not the man for that job. He's an ok champion for now, but having WM22 be "his night" again would be a mistake. You can hide someone's flaws if you book him correctly. Bookers have been doing that for years. Cena's in the MAIN EVENTS. He'll have to work 20 minute + matches eventually if he wants to stay there, and weak and limited offense will look awful. -

No but you should acknowledge the fact that Cena is very very over with almost everyone. Wrong. He's over with WWE's current fanbase. He's NOT over with the majority of fans that stopped watching a few years ago, and it doesn't look like they'll be returning to watch Cena rap about Jericho being "cheap" and the like. You can't hide the guys flaws forever either. Not to mention how his act is getting staler by the week.... -
It'll be interesting to see how Angle goes from midcard comedy act feuding with a mental handicapped to serious WWE title contender within a few weeks. And people still don't get why two wrestlers just can't fight each other to "move up the ranks".
-
How long until Hart shows up on TV and "passes the torch" to Hunter by calling him "The best there is, best there was, and best there ever will be."? And in that pic, Bret looks like nobody's home and Vince looks like the devil who just tricked some poor guy into selling his soul.
-
So say two guys face each other, with no storyline or purpose except to "move up in the ranks". If just anyone can get a title shot (Nunzio, Jericho), then the ranking DON'T matter, which essentially makes the original match pointless.
